My first time in a strip club was in the mid 1970's near Detroit. Since that time they've evolved and changed as the owners, dancers, and patrons all searched for a business model that works for everyone. This will vary from city to city depending on how corrupt the local politicians are. For example when I was working in Boise Idaho a strip club I visited had dancers in bikinis who didn't take anything off, wearing modest bikinis like your niece might wear at a family pool party.
