Visited: Tuesday Afternoon

After taking a 4-year break from the clubs, took a scouting trip to the SAMC on a Tuesday afternoon to see if/how things have changed. I always thought of it as one of the nicer clubs in San Antonio, and although it is located between a small industrial area and the freeway, the car park is well lit and there is a large western dancehall opposite so always felt pretty safe when visiting at any time of day.

Club seemed pretty much unchanged. You enter a lobby where you pay your entrance fee ($5 this time), with a stairway up to the VIP/Member area and door to the main floor. The main room is a fair size with the bar on the right, with the main stage, comprising a dance pole and a runway out into the room, against the opposite wall. There are two additional small circular stages with poles off to the left and right of the main stage. Seating is mainly table and chairs with some booths against the far wall. The VIP area is a balcony overlooking the main floor on all sides with party rooms along the wall above the main stage. Decor and furnishings are to a decent standard and are clean and in good repair.

Place was quiet with around 10 so customers so grabbed a beer ($7) and took a seat at a table. There were around 8 or so girls working, about half white, with a couple of Black and Latinas, mostly in the 7 range with a couple of maybe 8s and one 5. This was very much the post lunch quiet period with a slow turnover on the main stage with little onstage tipping taking place. The girls were not pushy with a few making the rounds from time to time but otherwise content to chat with customers or sit at or near the bar.
