Just to add my 2c, I have no preferance at all -- I never look at the shoes, though I notice them from time to time when I am at the rail in a drunken haze staring straight forward instead of looking up. Also though I am not very picky about height, so I suspect since height is one of the factors you are looking at you notice things that others do not.

Thinking back, I think I rate clubs with the same attitude as I would rate a woman - there is no such thing as a 10. If a club was totally awesome and I had a great experience it would get a 9, it would take an act of god for a club to get a 10 from me (maybe having the time of my life and leaving the club with more money than I walked in with!).

I try never to get to used to visiting any girl, because they always seem to randomly dissappear when I get really pumped up to see them.

Well all reviews need to be approved by founder i think, they are not instantly added so I am assuming this is what the deal is -- he has some criteria I'm sure, but you guys might want to voice to him that you think he should be a little more strict. Anyways, I agree some are short but not everyone has great writing skills, I think a lot of people think they are submitting a decent review even though it doesn't tell shit to anyone else. Regardless though I would rather have 4 short reviews for a club than no review at all, any info is better than nothing.

Personally I find it funny that he brings up the same stuff over and over, but can see how others would find it annoying. I would have to vote no on the ban, it is easy to just not open his threads.

I'd thought about it too just as a 'what if' type scenario (i've never been in a financial position to open any business) because strip clubs clearly can be very profitable. Just counting heads on a weekend night, their cover charge alone would be enough to turn a strong profit, not to mention every other money making aspect of the club.
The weirdest aspect is the zoning laws or whatever that prevents strip clubs from being opened in certain areas. Literally all the strip clubs are in total shithole neighborhoods, the types of places that only source of income is strip clubs so they allow it. I would not want to run a business in one of those neighborhoods, and since I don't think I'm the first person to think of opening a club in a decent part of town, I'm sure that wouldn't happen either.
The other thing that I have always thought of, which is more of a sterotype I suppose, is that strip clubs are run by the mob. I don't know if average joe can just open a club without taking heat, there has to be some kind of payola going on or something... dunno. I agree though, owning a club would be a very profitable (and fun!) venture.

I think I have only gotton a dance by two girls when I first started going to strip clubs, more as a novelty then anything else -- having two girls dance on you just because you can. IMO having two girls dance for you is a waste of money, no real good grinding like you could get from one girl. But you guys might of nailed it, a lot of peoples fantasy is to have two girls at once so this could be their cup of tea, not what I'm looking for when I get privates though.

My reason isn't as involved as some of yours: I'm single and I'm horny.

A "10" is a woman that is way to hot to be dancing in a strip club. In my experience, you will never find a 10 in a club.

casualguy, I have had that happen before also. There was a girl that I would get private dances from now and then, and one night she came up to me after we got done and said "you know.. for the same money, I can come to your house and do a private party". I just kind of looked at her and she said "penatration is legal at private parties "... I just laughed and left it at that. The girl was a friggin hooker.

Cheapest I ever got were back when we had a Deja Vu in my area, now and then they would call 2 for 1 privates so you could often get two songs for $20-$25.

TopGunGlen, that is one thing I have learned to do as well. I never bring ATM or Credit Cards, I have gotton into trouble a few times hitting the cash machine for a few $100 pops when the booze gets the better of me.

chitownlawyer wrote "However, I will say that I have never felt cheated by a dancer. Maybe this is my good luck, and is atypical."
I would have to say you definitely can consider yourself lucky. I think anyone that visits strip clubs at any sort of regularity is going to get scammed sooner or later. I am by no means a huge strip club veteran but have been scammed a few times over the 5 years I have been visiting them. Nothing major, things I chalked up as experience as well and just made me more cautious in future interactions with strippers.
Everyone has made good points, but I think if I had to pick a side I would be with davids on this issue. I think that stripping is a pretty corrupt business, and the girls on average do not have the ethics as more other professions. In general, the conscious goal of a stripper is to get men drunk and irrational so they can fleece as much money as possible from them. Sure, if you are a astute guy and watch yourself as well as the girls you are talking to, you can spend only what you want and have a good time. But they are surely moving on to another guy after you hoping they can hit a jackpot.
I guess it really just comes down to personal experiences, and I have seen my share of bullshit go down at clubs to make me think this.

chitown, I agree... I'm not worried about having to pay a fine, I am worried that I would have some prositution-type offense on my record of I was simply in the club and not doing anything wrong.

StripShopper
No One Cares
StripShopper, I agree that is is good to try and "feel out" a girl by asking her what she will do/how agressive she will be, etc. But, I have tried this a lot (when I am in the right mindset) when talking to a dancer I have never gotton a private with before, and found that a lot of strippers will tell me whatever I want to hear to get my money in the private area. There really isn't a whole lot you can do about it... say she promised extras, then you go and get a normal dance with her... you can't exactly go bitch to the manager that you didn't get any extras.
Obviously I'm sure some girls will be straightforward about it, but I haven't had much luck asking. On a semi-related topic, do most the clubs in your area have you pay before or after a private? Have you ever refused to pay for a shitty one? My rule used to be if a girl asks up front, it is going to be crappy so don't bother, but lately it seems all girls ask unless you are a regular do you have to just take the plunge.

Jpac, I agree with you. I am probly one of the younger people on this board and it is hard not to fall into atleast one of the above scenarios when you are single. Strip clubs are great for going out with buddies or having a fun night on the town. Once you start looking for companionship or hope to find a girlfriend, it can really turn into a bitter, depressing activity. It is basicly a negative expectation activity if those are your goals -- you will leave dissapointed every time (unless you are the rare exception that manages to date strippers you meet), and more than likely broke.
When I first turned 21 and my older friend turned me on to strip clubs, it got rather addicting and I found myself wanted to go all the time and going by myself when I couldn't find someone that was able to go. I by no means spent a fortune, but for being young with a shitty job I spent a hell of a lot more than I probly should of. I have only had one or two ATF's over the years, but I think I have always managed to keep myself pretty grounded as to not expect anything more than the typical strip club relationship (if you could call it that), where I would only be able to talk to them if I paid them for their time. I am a bit older and hopefully a bit wiser, now I don't even want an ATF! It is a waste of time and just makes you pissed when they move clubs and you never see them again. Hell, I know people that are still talking about strippers they would visit years ago. It is a pointless obsessions, just go for the fun and hope you see new faces every time.

I have not noticed this at all around here, still mostly guys at the clubs I frequent. Maybe its because I tend to go to the seedy joints, guys usually bring girls to the upscale clubs.

I used to go once or twice a month, but for the past year I have been lucky to go once every 3 months. I would love to go more often, but the main reason for cutting back is money has been real tight for me, and my friend I would always go with had twins recently so he has been in the same boat.

On very rare occasions I have tipped the DJ if I want to request a song. But from what I understand they get a pretty good wad of cash from the strippers tip outs, I don't feel the need to give them money unless they go out of their way to help me out (never see that heppening in my lifetime).

Most of the clubs around here the prices vary from girl to girl. The average it seems is around $30 for one song or 2 for $50. Sounds like you guys are getting some real bargains at the clubs you visit!

I don't think it really matters what you tell them, they are probly just making small talk. I can't imagine they would give you a crummy lap dance because you said you were married, if a girl has a concious about that type of thing I doubt she would be stripping :).
