    screg
    California
Detroit- Best place to spend a Monday afternoon.
Hmmmm -- I was just thinking about starting a new topic concerning Detroit strip clubs, and I still may, later. If I were screg, I would definitely check the recent reviews of The Coliseum. Of course it could be that this guy with the fabulous reviews is just blowing smoke, but the only way to prove that is for other people to visit the club and write their own reviews, which would strongly refute his. So I recommend The Coliseum on that ground alone. I think if the Detroit city management, Chamber of Commerce, and Law Enforcement are smart, they will let the strip clubs bend the law a little extra and not harrass them as long as they keep paying their taxes on time. After all, Detroit is the headquarters of the US Auto Industry, which just turned in another dismal sales report today, October 2, 2007. Detroit needs -- badly needs -- all the revenue that strip clubs can generate. As far as which clubs screg should visit when he gets to Detroit in mid-November -- for gosh sakes man, take an hour and read the reviews and decide for yourself. That's why all these reviews are posted. As for Flight Club, I agree it is a good club, but there's a ton of other good clubs in the Detroit area. There are various sizes, shapes, and norms. La Chambre is nice.... Different Strokes for Different Folks.

Founder has created one of the best evaluative systems I've ever seen anywhere, but it's not perfect and we shouldn't expect perfection. I hardly think it necessary for him to start rating the raters. We all have access to all the reviews of anybody rating a particular club, and a phony reviewer can only get away with it for a short time. (Exception: a really dedicated phony could set up a network of phony reviewers -- true enough. But how likely is that, just to get a high score in TUSCL?) If Hot Lap Dance doesn't really deserve to be #1 this will surely come out in the near future as more reviewers put in their 5s and 6s and 7s. The high cost alone would keep me from rating it a 10. It's just outta sight costwise. I say let's get more different reviewers - people who have a track record - reviewing this and other top rated clubs and let the chips fall where they may.

    Brothels?
Regarding Adelita's. Brothel, yes. Remove from TUSCL, no. Would be BIG BIG MISTAKE and I am glad that Founder has the good sense to ignore asinine advice to remove it from the list. We PL's NEED TO KNOW about places like Adelita's. Here's where I draw the line: if they require you to pay up front before you can see the merchandise it probably should not be listed in TUSCL (maybe with a lot of "1" ratings for stupid big-$$$-up-front rule. If you find a place with scantily clad women, you can pay a reasonable (whatever THAT means) cover, mill around, suck on a beer, etc., and feel like you may have gotten SOME value for your money just for conversation and ogling, it deserves to be listed and rated on TUSCL. BTW does anybody consider Mitchell Brothers in SF to be a brothel? I've heard a lot of guys claim they got sex inside. Even in a blatantly brothel-like joint like Chameleon, the management never ever says "you can get laid in here". Some things are best figured out indirectly (The Chameleon Handshake is a good clue). My problem with Mitchell Brothers is not that it is a brothel (IMHO it is) but that it is so goldarn expensive.

    Op-Ed column
Hint regarding sarcasm: since this board is OPEN TO ALL COMERS, if you are gonna go sarcastic, you have to either go HEAVY SARCASM or expect someone to misunderstand. I still remember my mortification as a teenager when somebody finally got around to telling me that Jonathan Swift was just kidding with his "Modest Proposal". Later I was happy to learn that he had misled a lot of other readers. Anyway, here's my take on the OP-ED piece (I will ignore the issue of whether managers try to get fat strippers to lose weight -- that is even more boring than Herbert's drivel. My take on Herbert: move on to the next subject, buddy. you totally blew it this time but hey, ya got a contract, better get another column ready ASAP. You could talk bout dogfighting or the lottery, for example. Or about the mean mortgage brokers who took advantage of naive first-time underfinanced buyers. Hey I just had an original idea: why not write a column comparing the evil strippers who lie to take our money with the evil mortgage brokers who lie to take our money. Now there is a WINNING TOPIC. Oops I have inadvertantly fallen into my low-impact Jonathan Swift satire. Outtahere!

    Brothels?
enquiz2001 you are definitely not wrong. prostitution is legal in canada, but i think it is deliberately unpublicized -- you won't see "brothel" in the yellow pages in Canada but you will in certain Nevada towns. I would guess the "teacher" you were visiting with was a hooker (part-time perhaps) who, either by law or local custom, would never solicit a customer. There would be a conversation where one idea leads to another and to another until a price is agreed upon and you are both in bed. Nobody has mentioned Chameleon, a well-known brothel in Washington Park Illinois. The first couple of times I went in there I had no idea that I was in a brothel. Because I don't believe half the stuff the girls tell me in stripclubs. But after I started paying attention, I finally realized that Chameleon is NOT a strip club -- the girls never took off a stitch of clothing. They would flash for you on stage and they would let you feel inside their clothes but that was a come-on to get U excited enough to spring for the private room. I consider Vic's Place in Irvington NJ a brothel, but it does not meet the requirement of a private room so others can easily dispute my perception. I am told that Lipstixx in Tampa works much the same way as Chameleon but I have never been there to verify it. Seven Seas in Tampa may be a borderline brothel. Not sure. But unlike Chameleon, Seven Seas is a real strip club, whether or not it is a brothel. Within the past 10 years there have been several brothels operating in Des Moines, Iowa. Again, they are not in the yellow pages, but they ARE in the classifieds -- listed as Escort or Entertainment.

    Tipping
One thing to consider is whether you want to go back there soon. If you feel like you have spent all the money you want to spend, just leave. As long as you met the contractual agreement, there is no moral or legal cause for concern. But --- for future reference --- if you go to a place that you like, and want to get accepted and hang out from time to time you would be wise to ask a couple or three people, such as customers, dancers, and bartenders, what the normal expectations are for tipping, BEFORE you go in for the Private Dance. By definition, a tip has to be a voluntary payment. We all "voluntarily" do things to feel good, for good will, and future reciprocity. I remember paying a girl $20 - the standard price - for a private dance a few years ago. She let me finger fuck her, and I came in my pants. When I gave her the $20, she whined -- "what, no tip?" Even though I came, I was not pleased with her attitude during the dance and that is why I didn't tip her. I avoided the place for a couple of weeks after that. And she and I never had any more to do with each other. Mutual dislike.

    Spinners
So spinner = petite & attractive. That's fine. However disagree with the "90 pounds or less". Maybe 99 pounds or less is more realistic, and at that weight, if body shape is good, the term still seems to fit. I had seen the word used several times in reviews, and never knew what it meant. I thought maybe it was a girl who is really expert on the pole. But apparently I was wrong on that. I have a question about this Discussion Forum -- how is it that other posters refer to "shadowcat" but I do not see any postings by "shadowcat". The other nicknames mentioned in messages in this and other threads appear on the "Posted by" line. How come not "shadowcat". BTW I have never experimented with the [ignore] button Now that we all know what "spinner" means, is there a way to get it added to the glossary?

    Feel like an idiot
Very interesting thread. I agree with Chandler, that getting a girl off is just great but she is still there to make money not to get off, and she knows that and you know that. You should NEVER assume a dancer would settle for any less money just because she got off. That should just be considered a bonus for both of you.

    Mileage vs. ethnicity
No, I do not think "Jumbobert" was just lucky, although we all know that YMMV. There is some correlation between ethnicity and mileage. Due to the racial history in this country, colored girls (use whatever ethnic reference you prefer) have always been somewhat more inclined to spread their legs for white guys than white girls have. Read about our third President, Thomas Jefferson, and his liaisons - and offspring - with his slave Sally Hemming. This bias toward the submissive and the promiscuous bias continues to this very day. Don't get me wrong - I have found plenty of white girls in clubs willing to put out, and plenty of black girls who follow the official rules to the letter, oblivious to all persuasion. Still, over the years, when I have gotten sex, or an offer of sex, in a strip club, the girl's skin has more often than not been dark in hue. Another important factor besides the slavery and subsequent poverty which whites imposed on blacks in the USA is the fact that darker skin tone is more widespread in Latin America than in the USA and Canada. Couple that with the more casual attitude that Latin American countries have towards sex for money, and this reinforces the skin color correlation to sex availability in strip clubs.

Which would you prefer The High Mileage dancer, or the honest dancer
Hot is the name of the game. Strippers like hot guys for BFs and that's why us pathetic losers never become stripper BFs -- but we can dream. Stripping is show business. Deception and dishonesty are intrinsic parts of show business. Just think about the special effects in movies. There is a famous saying that pertains to this situation exactly: The hardest thing to learn is SINCERITY. Once you can FAKE that, you got it made. The really big money makers in strip clubs are skilled fakers. They know what to say and when to say it to suck us in, drain our wallets, and leave with a big smile on our faces. There are endless tricks both verbal and physical that accomplish this task. By the way, a big smile does not automatically mean a wet spot somewhere in the nether regions. It can mean, "Boy, that gal really gave me a run for the money, made me happy, got me to laughing, etc. etc." But I do like the wet spot in the nether region, when it happens. IN CONCLUSION -- ya don't go to strip clubs to build long term relationships, which depend on empathy and honesty. Ya go to have a GOOD TIME AT THE TIME. I strongly believe in the five minute love affair.

Good places to go in Portland, OR
Often in a big city -- like Portland, Newark, Saint Louis, Sacramento (to name 4 of I know for sure) -- the best deals are located outside the city itself. In most states, local city/town ordinances vary tremendously. Look at Illinois. You get ZIP in the way of mileage in Chicago, but if you go to Washington Park everything imaginable is on the table. In the Portland area, there is a place called Jiggles in Tualatin that definitely gives better value than most of the Portland clubs. Go visit there a couple of times and then write a review for the rest of us. Or, if it is easier for you to surf the web than to actually go to a club for research purposes, I guess you could use all the great search tools on TUSCL and after while you should figure out the answer to your question. But I recommend Jiggles in Tualatin.

A lot of us think about asking the same questions you have asked, but we know that we are not going to get meaningful answers so why the F**K bother? Photos versus maps. I greatly prefer the maps. I think that was an incredible improvement in TUSCL. One of the neatest features of TUSCL is "Find Nearby Clubs" You CANNOT get that on MAPQUEST. No comparison. All the maps available on TUSCL add tremendously to its value IMHO

    Sprayed a Stripper . . .
Dear JabLake, I posted an empathy-lacking response on your other recent posting which concerned "empathy". Now I see I made a mistake. In this thread, I see you have feelings and sensitivity that IMHO are rare in men who go strip clubs. So I think it was wrong to say that all the empathy/feeling/sensitivity stuff was like the salt-and-pepper on the steak. If you are really interested in personal relationships inside Strip Clubs, more power to you. There are a thousand games going on at the same time in strip clubs. Different people have different needs and goals. So I kind-of apologize for my harsh comment on the Empathy thread, and I have new respect for your integrity. I will look forward to reading future posts by you to understand where you are coming from, because I am always willing and ready to learn.

    Let's See How "Empathy" Plays Out . . .
Jablake: the little hottie who is just waiting and waiting despearately for what I have to offer. REALLY. Hard for me to believe that she is waiting for anything but money. All the nice conversation, smiles, nuances, and etc between customer and dancer might be analogous to salt and pepper on a good steak. But the stripper walked in to that bar to make money, NOT to be treated like a goddess or a whore or any other particular way. I don't deny that with most girls you can influence her behavior by YOUR behavior. That's what makes it interesting. One of the previous posters said, "I never ask what her rules are, I find out by a subtle effect of trial-and-error". I like that. I usually use that approach myself. However, once in a while when I am feeling really horny and a girl asks me for a PRIVATE DANCE, I say "sure, as long as I can play with your pussy." I don't know why, but playing with a stripper's pussy always makes me feel good. Occasionally a girl will act shocked when I offer that option, but usually I get a pretty straightforward answer and if the answer is YES we go to it, and she always gets a nice trip (assuming she was telling the truth, that is.) .... When all is said and done, she is there for the money, and you are there for the eye candy and/or sexual stimulation, in whatever form is most important to you.

Where are the hotties other than strip clubs?
By all means let's start a supplementary list in this discussion thread. There must be a lot of interesting places that haven't gotten on to the main list. However, as many reviews attest, there are already a bunch of AMPs, bikini clubs, and low-profile brothels that ARE on the list and rightly so. Thus, we need some kind of a criterion which will guide us. We need to concentrate on PLACES not PEOPLE. While I am fascinated by profiles of individual entertainers, I know my chances of seeing Lady X on a random visit to Club Y is slim to none. Maybe if we collect a few good candidate places on this thread, Founder would add another line to the list which now consists of Stripping 101, TUSCL History, The Block Guide, and Rules of the Road. It's up to us to produce the raw material first. Wish I had a couple of good candidates. At one time there was a place in Washington Park IL called The Colony Adult Theater that might fit the bill. There is currently a place in Gary IN with similar flavor -- can't remember the name right now but I'll be back later. As for sexy shoe stores -- hmmmm -- seems implausible but I'll entertain ANY idea -- briefly.

Success: From the Bottom to the Top
Well I am happy for her too. But $5 lap dances? Not very many places have such a deal. Well, maybe Angel's Adult Entertainment in North Miami is the exception. So you just ran into her by councidence at the $25/dance place? You will have to give us an update on this Paragon in the near future. Another thing -- you gave no clue why this one girl was getting ALL the business to the exclusion of all the other dancers. Was it because she was "the novelty" and all the other girls were so well known to the clientele that there was no interest in them? If that's the case, I think the management of this $25 place is not very astute.

    Fatties
Fondl: your point about Chameleon Club (and C-Mowes next door, before it burned down) is completely valid. You are right, I have never been in Chameleon without seeing one or more fatties. And I don't mean pleasingly plump, I mean FAT. Now another consideration is, is Chameleon actually a strip club? No, even though it's listed on TUSCL. I don't think I've ever seen a girl take of a single article of clothing at Chameleon. Not in the front room that is....

Shocking news--ESL strip club owner charged with federal drug crimes
No, Chameleon Club is NOT closed. It's going great. It was remodeled. The place next door, C-Mowes is rebuilding. The girls aren't all that great looking, but they are real girls and they do like to entertain guys in the best possible ways. Whatevere happens at Chameleon Club stays at Chameleon Club of course, but it is safe to say that the operation has the tacit approval of the mayor, the city council, and the police department. Personally I think there should be a lot more places all over the country which operate in much the same way as Chameleon Club (and Vic's Place in Irvington NJ) do. After all, we ARE consenting adults.

    What's the most unusual ...
First of all, I concur in the condemnation of the jack shacks. They are NOT strip clubs, they are scams. Second, the most unusual strip club I have ever been in is Vic's Place in Irvington New Jersey. I hope they continue to put dancers on stage all or most of the time so they can justify the label of strip club. From personal experience and from reading the reviews, I can say that the fun is the extemporaneous experience you have with young attractive females right out in the open. (Read the reviews and judge for yourself.) Nobody pays any attention to what you are doing, so it is OK. And the dancer never demands any specified amount of money. I suspect most of the girls there are available for take-out and that is how they make the real money.
