tuscl

new #1

Been a member for quite a while. I rarely see NYC area reviews. Now suddenly a rash of reviews vaults a new club to #1. I don't trust it.
Can you monitor such things?

PeMaker: Fortunately, most of us that rely on TUSCL are sharp enough to spot those inflated ratings and reviews that are filled with fluff. I also noticed the new ranking (the trend NA was a great tip off - Founder, way to go on providing us with very helpful tools!), and immediately recognized it for what it is.

This is the second time we have listed this club. The first time the owner tried to shill the ratings up. Now at least the reviews are from different members. Some of the reviewers have been long standing members too.

Of course, another way for us to judge to worthiness of reviews is to have some way to judge the worthiness of the reviewers. Founder, you know how ebay does it. There is probably a simpler way here that would involve only a few more tables and a little more code... ;-)

We could start by assigning Bones a big gold star. His reviews are factual and numerous to say the least!

I think harrydave is onto something (or maybe he is just "on something" [wink]).

I think if there was a "reviewer index" added somewhere on the recent reviews page for each review, it could be yet another tool we can use when perusing the reviews, in order to determine how much validity is placed on the review. It would be purely for informational purposes only.

If a formula, such as ([membership length in years] * [number of reviews]) / 100, would create a number that would be fairly meaningful.

    Here are a few examples of what certain reviewer indexes would be;
(PLEASE note, these are just samples, and I am in no way implying anything)
    Rev Index
0.071 NikName (recent reviewer of Hot Lap Dance - the club in question)
0.047 rickjohn (recent reviewer of Hot Lap Dance)
0.000 SALVAVIDA (recent reviewer of Hot Lap Dance)
2.322 racejeff (recent reviewer of BBF)
0.052 brianjonessoda (recent reviewer of BBF)
2.694 harrydave (recent reviewer of BBF)
3.441 Bones7599 (recent reviewer of BBF)
    2.258 DougS (myself)

My first thought was that the reviews were fake but then, like founder, I checked the nick names to see what, if any other clubs they had reviewed. 2 could be fakes but I think that the rest are legit. Damned if I am going to pay $50 just to get in the door.

I like the way Doug's index worked out. But I wish Bones would slow down.

    LOL@harrydave.

harrydave & all others - A little background about me. I joined this website in March 2006, just after quitting my dealing job in a Mississippi casino, to take a 6 to 9 month vacation.... to help my grieving process.

I was impressed with this site, as it provided a lot of detailed information about SCs. I never 'intended' to get to the number one spot on TUSCL's Top 40 Lists.

Between March and September of last year, I was continuously going (by car) on mini vacations, visiting friends and relatives from Texas to the Atlantic coast. I'd turned these mini-vacations into strip club roadtrips in the process, for enjoyment and excitement.

I don't recommend anyone to attempt to become No. 1 on this site as a goal, as I never intended it to happen to me. It cost me a lot of $$$$$ to include SCs in my mini-vacations. I don't regret it, as I have a lot of fond memories of clubs, dancers, and personal experiences.

In a previous post, SCing has turned into somewhat of an addiction (time for a renewed topic???) for me, one that I can live with though.

My advice to others from my experience..... keep focused on important things like work & family first. Use this website as a means of entertainment and making new friends.

Founder has created one of the best evaluative systems I've ever seen anywhere, but it's not perfect and we shouldn't expect perfection. I hardly think it necessary for him to start rating the raters. We all have access to all the reviews of anybody rating a particular club, and a phony reviewer can only get away with it for a short time. (Exception: a really dedicated phony could set up a network of phony reviewers -- true enough. But how likely is that, just to get a high score in TUSCL?)

If Hot Lap Dance doesn't really deserve to be #1 this will surely come out in the near future as more reviewers put in their 5s and 6s and 7s.

The high cost alone would keep me from rating it a 10. It's just outta sight costwise. I say let's get more different reviewers - people who have a track record - reviewing this and other top rated clubs and let the chips fall where they may.
