Good memories of the Bogart's "Romper Room," a 20 x 10 raised platform with padded metal chairs scattered around the perimeter. Most of the the time, the dancers were at least slightly discrete. Some were on their knees "inspecting" inspecting the zippers of their otherwise clothed male customers. Some had their g strings pulled to the side while they rode their unzipped customers in CG fashion. One visit, I was surprised when I noticed two nude strippers standing side by side and bent over at the waist while their male customers sat in the metal chairs and dined at the O. An interesting sight even at Bogarts.

Disclaimer: I've never sampled the clubs in Miami (might lose some points for pricey) and Houston. Toronto would also be on my list (probably #3) if the US borders were extended about a 100 miles.

Have you ever considered opening or financing a strip club (or escort service) in your area? Would the laws in western Canada make both of these suggestions untenable? If so, it might be time to do some lobbying to liberalize provincial laws or their enforcement. Or, save your money to allow travel to more permissive parts of the world as you have been doing.
Your reviews are helpful. Unfortunately, your reviews have convinced me that I don't want to live in Alberta. Why is western Canada so much more conservative than Ontario, where the escort and strip club scenes are pretty good?

Steatopygia-- medical name for an excessive accumulation of adipose tissue around the buttocks commonly observed in people from the Bushman tribes of the Kalahari Desert in Africa.
Hard to remember steatopygia so a more colloquial term--- badonkadonk-- large but firm buttocks.

Ditto the above comments--- Orlando strip clubs are boring, rent a car and drive to Cocoa Beach or Tampa. However, renting a car during spring break season in Orlando can be expensive. If you're staying near the airport, you might check out Rachel's, a relatively upscale strip club. Don't go expecting much as the dancers wear pasties and only give air dances.

Based on a single recent visit to the Block (where I walked into every club one afternoon and sampled a high mileage dance in one club)and multiple visits to Detroit, here is my comparison:
Quality of dancers: highly variable across different clubs in both cities. None of the Block establishments matched the consistent quality of the higher end Detroit clubs (Flight Club, Penthouse) but Detroit has plenty of lower end clubs that seem to match the quality that I observed in my tour of the block (lots in the 5-7 category with an occasional 8 or 9). I give a slight advantage to Detroit, but I also acknowledge a very limited sampling of the Block.
VIP and extras (availability and cost)-- seem to be available in both locations with the Block featuring higher and seemingly non-negotiable prices (especially the fee to the bar for access to a private facility). Some of the lap dance areas in the Block consisted of sofas that were visible throughout the entire bar. I did find one VIP (at Chez Joey if I recall the club name correctly) that was exceptionally nice, kind of like a private upstairs living room that was available for a fairly hefty fee. Most of the Detroit clubs feature private booths or cubicles for lap dances, often too small for optimal fun. Many of the Detroit clubs charge fees to access these VIP cubicles-- something like $20 at BTs and less at other clubs. Advantage Detroit.
Hidden charges-- I encountered several Block clubs that would not allow dancers to sit and talk with customers unless the customer purchased a very expensive drink for the dancer (think $20) who seemed to be trained to guzzle these overpriced drinks as soon as humanly possible. Even with the pushy waitresses at Bogarts (near Detroit), I've never encountered such a rip off scheme in the Detroit clubs. Advantage Detroit.
Quality of physical facilities-- Detroit's strip clubs consist of free standing buildings with their own parking facilities. Some of the Detroit clubs are pretty seedy (think Henry VIII, both locations) but many are spacious and upscale building that were designed as strip clubs (bars, comfortable seating, a stage with stripper poles, lighting and music). In contrast, the Block seems to feature converted row houses-- long narrow establishments with somewhat limited seating. I noticed that the stages for the dancers were behind the bar in a few of the Block establishments, an arrangement that limited tipping opportunities. Advantage Detroit.
Convenience. The Block features multiple clubs within a one block area. Detroit's clubs are spread out and require driving time between the clubs. Parking is a pain in the Block area-- never at any of the Detroit clubs because they usually have their own parking lots but some of the Detroit clubs insist on charging a parking fee. Advantage the Block.
Safety: My visit to the Block was in the afternoon-- a pretty safe time to visit any club. The Block has a police station located in the vicinity so police are pretty visible and accessible. Most of my visits to Detroit establishments have been in the afternoon or early evening and have also felt safe. Both cities have reputations as high crime areas (someone might verify my impression by checking crime statistics) so its probably a toss up on the safety dimension. Probably a toss up.
A reminder-- my comments about the Block are based on one afternoon visit. Others with more experience with the Block might have differing opinions and comparisons.

Decent 2-way contact but no extras at good clubs in Lansing/Jackson-- exceptions may occur but infrequently. Depending on your definition of "good club," you might make a visit to Centerfolds in Lansing. Lots of posters complain about the club and the talent but some also report favorably on the "fun factor."
Do some research and give us an update on your findings. If you have time and travel $, check out the Detroit clubs.

If the new club is operated by a national chain, I hope the club provides a better entertainment value than Hustler where corporate management is trying to market less entertainment for higher prices.

There are not many clubs in Detroit where a dancer, even a 9 or 10, can make a living without providing extras. Its simply a competition thing-- once some of the dancers in a club start providing extras, they get most or all of the lap dance action, assuming that other things are more or less equal (such as dancer attractiveness). There are some clubs where management and the clean dancers, drive away the dancers that provide extras---- but I don't frequent these clubs, at least not more than once.
That said, you'll find a full range of extra-friendly dancers, including a few 9's and 10's in some of the higher end Detroit clubs. I have been to clubs that feature a higher percentage of 9s and 10s than the Detroit clubs (Mons Venus comes to mind) but none of those clubs feature ITC extras, at least to my knowledge. So, SCs seem to find a niche-- some feature lots of beautiful dancers but no extras, some feature lots of extras but a lower percentage of stunners, and some feature none of the above--- they must have cheap beer and a good location to stay in business. If you find a club that features both a high % of beautiful dancers and extras, please post a report-- I'll be there soon.

At the high mileage clubs in Detroit, I typically ask dancers if they have any limits in the VIP. A few say "dance only, no extras" but they don't make much money in clubs where most of the dancers are providing extras. A few dancers will offer oral, but not full service. A very few will offer full service but not oral. A majority will offer everything except Greek. In the end, I would estimate that 20% or less will offer everything including ITC backdoor action.
Some of the dancers clearly enjoy Greek and offer it routinely (and seem to have a clientele for their services). Most of the backdoor pros will do enemas to minimize mess and smell but you're much safer if you also use a condom.

Unless things have changed since my last visit to the UK (a few years ago), many of the restaurants in the UK don't serve "meals" unless you like "meat pie" and fried fish.
Many US strip clubs offer food service and some clubs are noted to offer very good food. I don't go to strip clubs for the food so it is not a big selling point for me. I prefer clubs that leave make the customers happy by means other than meals.

Making it with the shot girl? Yes, on a slow afternoon at BTs (Dearborn, MI), I told the shot girl that she was the hottest woman in the club and asked if she ever considered dancing. She said yes. I asked if she was too shy to do a private dance--- she said no, I'm not shy. She asked the manager if she could do a dance for a customer. Seeing more shot girls than customers in the club at that time, he said yes. I had to pay the club an extra $20 (on top of the normal $20 VIP entry fee) to allow her to time off from her shot girl duties. Reasonable price, great time. She doubled her typical shot girl take home pay and I left happy. The morale-- don't be shy, the worst that can happen is the shot girl can decline your offer.
