    Intervening with management
Like Motor's experience, I know a dancer who got fired from a club she really liked, and wanted to go back. She told me, it's pretty common for a dancer to wait three months, then ask for their job back. She went to another club for a couple of months, then she was able get her job back at her former club. I wouldn't have considered discussing it with management. But, I had no incentive to do so. She was at another club which was just as lenient, so it didn't matter to me.

    Dancing My Way Through School
Somewhat related: I knew a dancer for about six months, until she quit dancing. She later enrolled in a dental assisting curriculum at a local community college. The faculty advises the students to get their friends to come in as patients. So I did. This tall boobulous dancer (among my profile pics) was now in medical scrubs handing tools to the dentist as I had my teeth cleaned. When the dentist was away from my chair for a moment, we both joked how different she looked in scrubs as opposed to what she looked like when dancing.

Lasa, You'll just have to assert yourself and go in and ask about a job there. Rejection (of jobs, as well as dances), is a big part of the strip club industry, as some have already pointed out. You need to start getting used to it. Dive in!

Things that make me go Hmmm.
Yes, we did take very kindly to her. She was polite, courteous, responded to most of the comments, and generally came across very well. It was an unusual experience. Most dancer that come on here first looking for advice, don't present themselves as well as she did. There was only one real jerk among her posts last night.

Greatest baseball player you ever saw
The answer to the question: Don Drysdale. I happened to get ticket for the game in L.A. when he pitched his record-breaking 58 2/3 scoreless innings. He and I were both from very nice Van Nuys, California. I went to college with Ozzie Smith and Mike Krukow. Saw them both play then.

    becoming a stripper
I'm glad all of you left one unaddressed subject for me to recommend. Slick mentioned it's important to cultivate regulars. The first step in this process is for you to wisely choose a work schedule that you know you can stick too. That way you can tell all of your customers when you work, and they know they can depend on you working at those days and times. Please keep us apprised of where you work and your progress!

    Internet Encounters
Please excuse my digression here. Lopaw's comment, "If it tastes like chicken . . ." reminds me of a famous advertising phrase for Timex watches: "Takes a licking and keeps on ticking." For one example, see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NHq3Yze6s0

    Stage show
I concur with Shadowcat. It's a good stage performance. She has some moves I've never seen before. The addition of the chair as a prop is something I seldom see. Also, her pole work is very imaginative, and different than my usual experience. The negatives are that she didn't even crack a hint of a smile until 1:35, and made no eye contact with anyone throughout. Of course I realize that this isn't in a strip club where she's thinking this is her chance to sell herself to lap dance-buying customers after her stage routine. It's at a pole dance competition. That environment is different than a strip club. If she were to do this in a strip club, I'd want more smiles and eye contact to convince me to get lap dances with her afterward. Bascially, she needs to personalize her show more to specific customers in the audience.

How Can You Tell When A Stripper Is Lying? Her Lips Are Moving
I had a CF at one time who I found out was a habitual or chronic liar. It got to the point where I didn't know if I could believe anything she said. I felt it was pointless to even have a conversation with her. I quickly stopped seeing and communicating with her after realizing this about her. I was finally able to call her on the biggest lie she told me. When some people are asked to lie about something, the response is often, "I'm not a good liar." Meaning, they're not a *convincing* liar. I sense that this girl was convincing and I think she actually derived pleasure from her ability to lie to people, make it sound real, and keep a straight face. She was making a game out of how much deception she could get away with.

    Managers that act like A**holes
I've certainly read about bad experiences like you described. The only one I've had myself, was one time when I went into a strip club for the first (and only) time, that was well out of my usual area. The manager started telling the dancers that I was a cop. Obviously, I wasn't going to have any fun after that. The Strip Club Hound's blog routinely discusses incompetent strip club owners and managers. It's very good reading at: http://stripclubhound.blogspot.com/

For information on a specific dancer in a Southern California club, you're better off posting your request on www.zbone.com TUSCL is an internationally read website, although mostly in the U.S. You won't likely find someone with the answer to your question here.

Are $10 Lappers a "Good Deal"?
@ Slick and GoV: Allow me to add to your comments. I've only had one strip club conveniently available to me in my club-going career that had $10. dances--The Strip Joint, in Pomona, CA. (Slick, you should try it sometime.) They have $10. bikini dances in a very dark area. A lot of dancers get away with more, though. As for what affects dancers: At the "Joint" they get to keep all of the $10. for each dance. The club, only collects a cut of their dances in the VIP. As a customer, I was far more likely to get a lot of dances there, because when a dancer would ask if I'd want another, I'd think, "It's only another $10. Yeah, go ahead, I'll do one more." And often more after that. (Not $20, $30, or $40 as in other clubs), so I'd often get more dances that because of that price structure. In the RTRCs for the Strip Joint, I recognize names of at least three dancers who have been at that club for ten years, now.

    Ladies and Gentlemen's Club. WTF?
In L.A. a lot of strip clubs are in shopping centers. Some are just mini-malls. There not all in stand-alone buildings. The Spearmint Rhino, city of Industry, is one of the best examples. I'd say to Florida: Get used to it!

What questions do you usually ask dancers who don't say they live in the same sm
@ Shark: If you're comment was in response to mine, I wasn't concerned about the neighbors. I was concerned about her potentially coming over to my house more often than I'd want to ask for favors (more OTC, and outright requests for money) since she's so close by. It's funny that I see her in front of her house from time to time, but I don't think she even remembers me when I pass by. I don't wave to her when I see her.

What questions do you usually ask dancers who don't say they live in the same sm
I don't live in a small town, but I am curious about where dancers live. I'll bring up the question most of the time when getting to know them. I have an ulterior motive for doing so: I've found that if a dancer lives relatively close to me (perhaps within even ten miles), that improves my chances for OTC with her. I conduct nearly all of my OTCs at my house. One time, I found a dancer that lives too close to me for comfort. We had just met in my favorite club. It turns out she lives in the adjoining condo complex to mine. I drive by her house every time I come and go from home. (But she doesn't have to pass mine.) I decided not to even get any dances with her that night, or get to know her.

Rick, I like the points you made, but I do feel the post-2008 economy IS a strong factor. And, I disagree with your last paragraph. I read the Strip Club Hound regularly. He's probably over age 60 from what he's said about himself, and he's been going to strip clubs for decades. He was also a strip club manager, (for about four years, that I can surmise.) He's from L.A. and yes, his knowledge mostly seems limited to Southern California clubs, but I'd say he expresses a great variety of experiences in clubs. I'm very certain I know which club he managed. He's given enough away over time, that if you know the L.A. clubs, you can isolote which club he managed. And, lastly I'd disagree with you on your last sentence. Very few posters on TUSCL write as well as he does, especially the male members who say that they have worked in strip clubs.

Keep it in my pants when I do OTC. If I were a stripper it would stand for I like big bucks and I can not lie.
    Strip Club peak hours
In my experience, Kitty, Dan, and Jestrite all have valid points. And, clubs are simply busier in the late evening hours, making it seem like that's when the greatest number of dances are sold. The greatest number of customers are present. Although, I'd say Jestrite siting the economy as the factor has not ben my observation. I saw that happening as much pre-recession (2008) as I do now. A lot of customers just want to make the dances they get the highlight of their time at the club, so they wait until the end. I recall one dancer telling me around 2005, "I have to be here at 8:00 p.m., but I make all my money after midnight."
