Hell, my wife of 25 years has anger management problems and a laundry list of mental defects. And I don't even get the occasional lap dance from her. Yeah, if I had to do it all over again, I think I'd enjoy the bachelor life a lot longer. I've already said that if I ever had to marry again - it would be for the sex.

I also agree that there is a huge difference between scratching a physical itch and an emotional one. If a lap dance is cheating then so is checking out internet porn. I know there are some who believe that too - but I just don't.

@gmd - I guess that's why I posed the question. In my case, I did fall in love with a co-worker and honestly felt guilty like I had cheated on my wife even though there was never anything physical involved.
Because of my upbringing I have always felt a little "naughty" at the strip club, but never really guilty. My extras have never been expected or over the top - just fun. And I get to go home to my wife with a *mostly* clear conscience.
@jay - I'm probably just rationalizing the guilt away - but most of the time, the wife knows exactly where I'm going and I can honsetly say she really is fine with it.

I'm going to Vegas in about 3 weeks. I plan to hit one or two of the clubs and am relying heavily on the reviews from tuscl to decide where to go. I'll post my reviews for sure.

Wow, I'm getting old. While I would not go looking for women at Wal-mart, either my standards have dropped (likely) or we have an upscale Wal-mart (if there is such a thing). There are some pretty hot women in there at any given time - many of the milf variety.

OMG yes. It was a firey redhead and I left absolutely soaked. I was also wearing black pants and had to make up some story about spilling food all down my front. The other dancers thought it was funny - and so did I to some degree. It was actually a great experience. The girl claims I made her cum, but I think she was "faking". Physiologically, a woman can build up an enormous amount of personal lubrication. It is not pee (I watch a lot of Discovery). The amazing part is the muscle control. Yes this was a nude club - my preference - and while I think it was mostly for show, she did seem to enjoy the performance.

As another "happily married man" of 25 years who hangs out at strip clubs, I agree with the majority here. There is no such thing as "permission". My wife has played that card more than once.
Understand, my wife has reached a point in her life where she absolutely hates sex - she can barely stand to be touched. I've been through the emotional roller coaster from thinking she might be cheating on me to considering an affair. Ultimately, we always end up going out to dinner, talking about our day, and having a great time - without the sex.
But I really did get permission to go to the strip club which I took advantage of this past year. She went out of town on a cruise with her friends and I ended up arranging a trip to the club along with 7 mutual female friends half my age - yeah, I'm bragging. My wife laughs and jokes about it as much as I do, but let's face it, I was chaperoned. It wasn't like I could have gotten away with anything in a crowd like that. We'll be going to Vegas in a couple of months and I once again have "permission" which I intend to take advantage of.
But yes, I've been to the clubs a number of times behind her back because I found that I really liked the adrenaline rush of girls fawning over me and frankly, the sneaking around is a rush in itself.
My wife has also given permission for an affair. She said as long as I "don't bring anyone or anything home". But I'll be honest, there was that glint in her eye that she was going to put me out of my misery if I ever really did cheat on her.
I don't consider the clubs as cheating but I can still get a little affection - even if I have to pay for it. I also know my wife enough to know that if I ever did get caught sneaking around to a strip club, I can get away with it once. It's not like she's going to cut me off from sex - she did that about 5 years ago anyway. She'll be a little miffed and I'll have to stay away from my newest hobby, but things will go on the way they have been.
OK, that's the long-winded way of saying to stick to the "innocence" of strip clubs. And understand there are others out here in the same boat as you.

The whole reason I started in this scene is because my wife of 25 years has decided she no longer likes sex - or even affectionate physical contact anymore. I did a lot of research on ways to bring her back - including a lot of effort on my part for therapy, celebacy, apathy and whatever other "y" you can think of. The greatest irony is that I simply made a (serious) joke about going to see the strippers once and my wife actually looked me dead in the eye and said she thought it was a good idea.
That started what I consider a bit of an addiction and that is truly what I believe any relationship with a stripper would be. I would never go in with the illusion that I could spend the rest of my life - or even a good part of it - with a stripper. Some of them are very sweet and they are generally beautiful, but let's face it, I'm there for the fantasy - and just like our married relationships - things fade over time.
Boss, have you tried talking to your wife. Maybe not in a lot of detail, but perhaps admit that you like going to the strip clubs. What would her reaction be? I have admitted it to my wife and she just shrugs and says "whatever".
I still love my wife and have had many of the same feelings you are describing. I hate the thought of ending up alone myself and so I worry a bit about the line between clubbing and cheating - but as my wife put it, "as long as you don't bring anyone or anything home". So my wife has become the "friend" I hang out and talk to in the evening, but when I'm feeling anxious, I head to the club.
I also belive that fate has a tendency to work out as it is intended to.
I'm not sure where it will all lead, but I appreciate the post - it lets me know that there are many of us neurotics out here.

I'm fairly new to the scene having gone to a few clubs less than a dozen times total, but I'm going much more frequently in the last year. I was thrilled to fund tuscl so I didn't have to waste my time on the really crappy clubs - though occassionally I have found a gem in one or two. I have a trip to Vegas planned in about a month and I've been doing my research. I think I've settled on one, but - just my luck - it's the furthest away from my hotel.

Usually as many as the budget will allow. I was feeling generous before Christmas and got a dance from every girl in the club. Finished up 3 times in about 3 hours.
