The difference is that gas station owners aren't selling their bodies. Some strippers won't give it up for any amount. I've never known one who viewed it as purely money for her time.

I believe you need to try the clubs south of Montreal. The one I know of where extras were easy to get is closed now. Most clubs in the city are no touch, so extras would be out of the question.
Some forms of prostitution are legal in Canada. ITC extras are not, although courts in Ontario have recently ruled that they should be.

Can you say too good to be true? Here's how this can play out: You pay her bills, which are closer to $500. You get one session, then she becomes impossible to reach for any more dates. For porn star/escorts, it's hard to beat TER (http://www.theeroticreview.com). You can search for reviews of escorts who do porn, along with other criteria. There is also a very active discussion board there all about porn star/escorts. Nothing for strippers, though.
