Icebox at Cheetahs in San Diego
Aren't they something like $500 just to get in (for an hour)? They don't even have doors, do they? Going to clubs in San Diego is normally sort of a waste of money, but I can't imagine anything going on in those things that you wouldn't be able to do just in the 5-song VIP area, just because I don't see how they could get away with doing any more. If you haven't been in the club since they remodeled, the ice boxes aren't located in some hidden place, they're over on the right side (as you enter) of the main room, taking up space that used to be seats. So, if I'm correct that there are no doors, you're still in full view of everyone in the place.

    brazilian strippers in San Diego
There are a lot of Brazilians in town, so there's a decent chance that some of them have taken up stripping. The only one I've ever known of was working at Cheetahs a year or so ago.

WTF. Am I the only person on TUSCL tonight.
It's a lot faster for me, but I've noticed lately that avatars and "clubs reviewed"/"total reviews" aren't shown on the main discussion page any more. Just removing that query of information may take a lot off the server load.

    San Diego
First off, realize that dancers must remain clothed while giving lap dances in SD, so the best you'll get here is a bikini dance. Some dancers will occasionally flash you, but it's not a guarantee. Legally, the dancers aren't supposed to touch you at all in SD, but you can generally get a decent grind at most clubs as long as you're not in there on Friday or Saturday night. There's only two clubs in town that serve alcohol (Pacer's and the Kearney Mesa Pure Platinum), so your choices for drinking are limited at best. As bad as SD is for mileage in general, it's even worse at clubs with booze. mjx01 basically has it. If you really want decent mileage, you'll leave town. Cheetahs has been the best for me, and has some very attractive women working there. Most will allow some roaming hands if you go for the $100/5 songs room, but it really depends on the girl. Body Shop dancers typically have a sliding scale: $20/song for an air dance, $40/song for two way, but still with a bikini. At the Body Shop, you're kind of taking your chances on there actually being an attractive person working there.

    What TUSCL needs
There's like what, 10 topics a day posted to the discussion boards maybe? If there were 3 or 4 times that amount categories might be useful, but as it is, I don't feel like I'm missing out on anything. Threads generally seem to die out pretty quick anyway, so it's not like I'll really need to go back to find some older discussion for new comments anyway.

Ever had a stranger ask you for a ride in the strip club parking lot?
I had a pretty weird one - two Irish guys at a club, one claiming to be a NATO fighter pilot (sort of believable - I'm in a heavily military town and the guy looked the part), try to convince me to rent a car with them (preferably a Lambo; they couldn't do it legally) and drive to Vegas. I actually considered it.

    Tijuana experts help
Dude, the cab right from the airport to the border is pretty long. Just take the trolley - it goes right to the border. The trolley doesn't exactly connect with the airport, but taking a cab to the main train station (where there's a trolley stop) won't be too bad; only a mile or so. steve3003 is pretty much right about cabs in Mexico though - tell them where you're going and how much you're going to pay them before you even get in the cab. They should accept dollars. I'd worry more about just random crimes or violence than I would about getting kidnapped. Kidnappings in Mexico generally happen because the kidnappers know that relatives of whoever they're taking have money and they're mostly after the ransom. The don't have enough reach across the border to go taking Americans and demanding ransom from their families and having any hope of getting anything without bringing down a shitload of trouble on themselves. There are tons of wealthy Mexicans who have houses in the US where they keep their families for safety while they conduct their totally legitimate business south of the border.

With the Bunny Ranch, I think just about anything they do is a publicity stunt. It seems like publicity stunts are actually their primary business, and then they also happen to be brothel on the side or something.

Do Stripping and Smoking Go Hand-In-Hand?
Motorhead already said most of what I was going to say. Strippers, generally, are a younger population of people, more comfortable with risky behaviors, with a lower education level and probably blue-collar backgrounds. I would expect people with those demographics to have a higher rate of smoking no matter what they do for a living. 80% of strippers smoking seems high to me, but I'm in California, where you can't smoke inside. I do smoke, and when I go outside (frequently in an exterior smoking area provided by the club where dancers also go) there are usually girls out there, but nothing like 80%. Out here, it's probably more like 25%, which is still high compared to the general population.

Customers, What Kind of Stage Names Do You Prefer? Outrageous, porn star-esque
I like non-common names that have some character - some of the ones I've liked could very well be the girl's real name. Charlie, Cody, and Kira have all been good for me.

    zoning for a strip club
The zoning designations listed by inno123 are common, but not standard by any means. My city has RS-#-# for single family housing (houses), and RM-#-# for multi-family, and then a whole bunch of other crazy stuff.

Also, looking for zoning in Colorado isn't going to get you far - you'll probably need to get more local and find out zoning requirements for your city, town, or county.

    zoning for a strip club
Club_Goer is the go-to guy on this topic. Note that strip clubs may be a special type of thing where there isn't a zone that they're allowed in without meeting a whole bunch of other criteria. In my area, the zone that they're in doesn't matter so much as that they're 1000 feet away from churches, schools, residential areas, and a bunch of other types of buildings.

    Avoiding 2AMs
None of the clubs in my area have ever really had issues (that I know of) so I feel OK going at night, but if I do, I'm only every out until midnight or so. I'm usually long gone by the time the clubs shut down, which seems to be when all the drama happens. Also, with CA alcohol/strip club laws, there are very few clubs that serve alcohol and they're not really worth going to unless your primary objective is drinking. I do avoid the weekends because of all the yahoo party kids that are newbs, and around here a lot of them are military so they have a little more incentive to cut loose than most guys. I would be totally open to going during the day shift, but most clubs around here are completely dead before 8pm, and not in a good way. Maybe 3 dancers working or something.

    A Bias Against New Clubs
I think it's partially because the club you're talking about is a Deja Vu, which is a pretty known quantity, especially in LA where there's 4 or 5 DV clubs already. Personally, I'd go check out a new club, but for the kind of money involved with going to clubs out here, there are definitely times that I want to stick with something familiar. I guess that falls closest to #2 in your list (none of the others ever enter my thought process), but it's more of "sticking with what you know" thing instead of a "fear of the unknown" thing. Sort of two sides of the same coin, just a different emphasis.

OC bikini bars - huh. What are they good for? (absolutely nothing?)
Right - strip clubs in CA where alcohol is served have dancers that get topless on stage, and can give you a bikini lap dance. These places don't even have that, and that's what I find so weird.

Not to threadsit, but there's a distinction between a bikini strip club and bikini bars like these. San Diego is all bikini strip clubs - the girls only take their clothes off on stage, and if you get a lap dance the bikini stays on the whole time (although you may get a flash or grope every once in a while). These places have no stage, no dancing, no mention of food in the reviews, and no lap dances from what I can tell.

Survey: How often do you encounter a "10"
I've seen a few at clubs, but they're certainly quite rare. Living in SoCal, and since I used to work in La Jolla, I've certainly seen my fair share just walking around. In San Diego, there's a decent shot at seeing on at Cheetahs, and there's one girl at Pure Platinum downtown (at least there was a few months ago) that meet my criteria. Girls at Cheetahs mostly hit the 6-8 range for me, but there's occasionally a real hottie working there. I'd probably see more if the dancers there weren't hustling everybody so hard - it's hard to scan the scenery when you have to shoo away a dancer every 5 minutes.

    Foreign Affairs
Snake, if there's any truth to the second season of The Wire (a lot of plotlines and characters were based on actual things happening in Baltimore, so you never know), the Eastern European girls you met were probably part of some human trafficking ring, which would make it understandable that they didn't really want to be there.

jackslash has a good pick with Annie Hall - a lot of Woody Allen's movies from the 70s are pretty much mulitple movies in one, so things like that would make for good repeated viewing. My personal preference would be Hannah and Her Sisters, though. However, I think my real pick would probably be Lebowski, or maybe The Longest Day. How The West Was Won would also be good for mulitple movies within one movie.
