I mentioned my Gainsville coffee/bar experience to a 40 something friend today. I described the apparel without specifically saying "strip club." She teaches at small college and asserted that some of her students regularly come to class dressed "like strippers." To my friend the reasons included Brittany Spears, music videos and trash TV.
Whether Gangsta or TV inspired, I have decided to get out more!

Valet risk, is not really an issue with my usual transport. Seven year old Neon 4 cyls are not moron magnets! I did once show up in my 1972 Porsche 914, 3L with a race tranny = Valet really wanted to drive that and I said NO. The valet did show me a place to park near the valet stand and boxed my car in with employee cars so it wouldn't get scratched. That was $30 spent (hey, I had to tip the guy) to not valet park! And why I always drive the wus car to clubs now.

Mostly because of time limits (time, I keep telling myself, not age!) I am a one and done these days. But I still remember the days when that first one was more of a "warm up" for a much longer lasting "really good time."
Even in the "Bad" ole' days, there were exceptions to 2nd time lasts longer. In a Toronto club, sometime in the 90s, a sweet young thing stopped what she was doing, looked up at me and said, "you taste like Princess, I like her too." I lasted about 11 more seconds!

Long time ago, OK, so it was in the 80s, but it wasn't a strip club. At the time the biggest difference between most SCs and a big city "disco" was that at the disco you bought girls drinks instead of putting $ in their garters. I left with a glittery, drunk, party girl at about 1AM. We had lots of fun then both passed out in my hotel room. At about 10:00 the next morning I awoke to the smell of coffee to find a wholesome, sweet young thing in shorts and a tee shirt sitting next to the bed.
She had showered and looked nothing like the party girl of the night before. The clothes came from her oversized purse, where her dress and heels went that morning. After she pushed me into the shower we had more fun (it was like an entirely different woman from the night before) then I drove her back to her car in the club parking lot.
It was like a 2fer, there was soo much difference between the party girl and her makeup free morning wholesome looks. Back then the women at the office described it as putting on their "warpaint."

Jacckslash, you may be right about the convention delegates themselves. Only a small percentage (my guess - less then 15%) of the delegates would be interested in SCs. BUT - - - Most of the crowd descending on Tampa for the RNC will be "other."
One estimate puts total media (reporters, "experts," researchers, producers, directors, camera crews, gophers, assistants, make up crews, drivers, etc.) at about six times the number of delegates. There will be less than 2,500 RNC delegates, but some people expect 15,000 media workers. There will be protestors. Again just estimates - I hear the Tampa police are preparing for as many as 50,000, though they actually expect less than 5,000.
Finally, there will be a number of the "movers and shakers" - from both sides - who are not officially part of the convention, but want to be there, "for the party." This group WILL have money to burn and time to spend it. Many of them WILL want more private rooms in the clubs and an excess of the hotter girls.
I expect some of the Tampa clubs will be disappointed by the RNC but most will see a boom. Remember, most of the media and the protesters will be very liberal and very away from home.

A few years ago, I was out of town on Valentine's day. About 3 PM, when I was leaving the office I had been visiting, the receptionist pulled about 10 red carnations out of a vase full of them and asked me to, "Find a good home for them." I think she thought I was catching a plane and would hand them out at the airport, or something.
The flowers were in the rental car seat when I parked at a SC half an hour later and I thought, "What the hell!" I kinda felt like a PL handing them out to dancers in the club, and I was actually lucky that I had ONE more flower than there were dancers at the time I walked in. (I DIDN'T feel like a fool handing that one to the middle aged woman tending bar and I didn't pay for a drink while I was there).
It actually worked out very well. I got plenty of attention from dancers, all of them kissed me, and most of them were sincerely impressed. Didn't get me any free extras though!

I did once, when a dancer I knew pretty well commented on the crappy clubs in the Chicago area and mentioned her wish that there was some way to find out about club in other areas. I also named the stripperweb site. The next time I saw her (a couple of months later) she jumped in my lap and thanked me. She claimed that she had talked to several Tampa area clubs on the phone and was leaving soon to try them out! I hope it worked for her, I never saw her again!
Otherwise, I had never thought it would be any benefit!

Ten years ago in a nude club, not generally considered as a club for hot lookers, in Dallas. I had made an afternoon, no cover, stop - only to find, when my eyes adjusted to the very dark room, 5 customers and only three kinda' fugly dancers. I had already been seated and had ordered a coke, so I decided to drink my soda before I left.
I had not noticed one additional dancer in my initial look-see. A soft voice from behind my chair asked me, "May I join you?" and I looked up into the only pair of truly "sky" blue eyes I have ever seen. Taking my ear to ear grim as a, "yes," she sat in my lap and I got to behold one of the best bodies I have ever felt or seen. From her feet, which were actually pretty - and I am not a "foot" guy, to smooth toned legs, hips that flared perfectly, a tight firm rounded ass, abs with just a hint of a six-pack under smooth skin, natural C+ tits that didn't sag, good posture, a face that complemented those eyes, to a smile that even showed good teeth. She even had soft, pretty hair.
I was in that club about 5 hours that day. The only times this girl left my lap were to go on stage. I spent way more than I intended that day, all on dances with her. She was so good looking that I didn't notice while I was with her that she was dumber than a rock. Hell, she was so good looking that I didn't mind shelling out $$$ for dances even though there were no extras!

I went to the VIP in a Miami club with a Nigerian/Korean raised in Los Vegas (so she claimed). Very dark skin, some distinctly Asian features and a very petite spinner at about 4'10" and 85 lbs. Good time, no limits and an excellent time at a reasonable price. Still not sure about the Vegas part, I pegged her accent as more northern New Jersey!

Don't count on it. A few years ago I was specifically asked by a hot dancer - who was wearing an unflattering (way too tight in the wrong places) bra/boy shorts combo - to tell her what was wrong with her outfit. She was insistent and demanded honesty. So I, gently - carefully, suggested that maybe her outfit did not highlight her best qualities. She immediately started crying, then ran to the dressing room and never again came near me!

My ATF was a virgin when I first met her at the club. She was only working to pay the nursing home bill for her ailing father and was very shy as she snuggled into my lap. I did convince a dancer to join me for dinner after her day shift ended at a Florida beach town Strip Club. She had her hand in my lap all through the nice Italian meal. We took a walk toward the ocean afterward and as the evening light faded we sat on the wooden steps to the beach between two highrise beach hotels.
She thoroughly "thanked" me for dinner on those steps, a few feet from a busy parking lot and in clear sight of anyone looking out of their hotel window. Semi-public sex is not my thing, but that time it worked for me.

1. I'm married, "outing" might not result in a divorce, but O' the pain and tears, and "long talks" and promises I'd have to make. Then again, it might end up in divorce, and there goes at least 2/3s of my money just when it would become easier to go clubbing!
2. I retired early and am living off savings until I can get to retirement investments. It's comfortable now, but the consequences of a divorce (see #1) could be difficult. Hell, I might have to go back to work! I could get a well paying job even if "outed."

4. Here it might be an issue. I have (unwillingly) become well known in my community and have been able to accomplish a few things helpful to others. Were I "outed," some of the ongoing projects would crash and burn. Several people who have helped me in these projects are certainly in the "Fundy" classification and would condemn me quickly.
5. Probably a big split here. I would probably lose most of my married friends (even though a few of them already know and approve). Others, probably not "lose" but it would take some explaining.
6. Brothers would have a lifetime of "razz me" material. Parents not an issue. Grown kids, well, - - - probably nothing worse than awkward for a while.
Overall, I'd rate it a 4 or 5. Something I don't want to happen!

Not in a SC but a "straight" hotel bar. I actually had no idea "it" was tranny and I had no interest in IT - that's how I found out! IT hit on me, I didn't care for the voice (raspy), the body (too little waist) or the face (nose too big for my taste). It wasn't ugly, just not my style. And It was pushy, I finally said, "Really hon, I'm not interested!" That's when IT told me IT had all the surgeries and was just like any girl there.
Took me a minute to compute (I was a few drinks into my evening), but when I figured it out I freaked. OK, I admit I'm a little homophobic!

You are lucky. A few years ago I was sitting in a SC waiting for my new favorite to get off work so I could give her a ride home when a sweet, buxom blond sat down next to me. We talked for several minutes while my fav was onstage. As soon as fav stepped down from the stage she planted herself in my lap (still topless), swung one of my arms over her shoulder firmly placing my hand on her tit and proceeded to rub my package. I originally thought, "Hmmmm, fav and blond - possibilities!"
Wrong! Fav then informed the blond that I was off limits in less than sterling language.
