The longest trip for a club I regularly visited was about 75 miles away, and time depending on traffic was anywhere from 84 to 97 minutes.
Longest ever was taking a side trip to Detroit from a wedding in which was about 110 miles and a two hour drive.
I booked a hotel room at about the half way point so I wouldn't have as long of a drive at night from the strip club. Hotel room was also about 1/2 the price of the hotels at the wedding venue.

Ranking by state may be a bit too broad, since even in states like Florida in Michigan it depends on the city. So what I say below is going to be based more off the main large cities I have been to.
In order from good, to don't bother.
Florida: Good

Not really. I'll probably just take it slow the first few months, checking out various sites to see how the local clubs are going. Hopefully getting reacquainted with my favorites by getting lots of long song count dances from them for a few months. Maybe even a few half hour or hour dances if the clubs have some special reopening incentives
Then in the summer hit all the good out of state clubs that are back, and make several well known for a good time dancers day.

Not sure how things are now due to covid, but when I am in Detroit, the order I usually visit is.
Landing Strip - Where I usually have the best chance finding a hot dancer with not too unreasonable rates.
Criket a step down from Landing Strip. But still a good chance at finding a hot or close to hot dancer, at a reasonable rate. Problem is it can be very hit and miss, and the last few times too many dancers were Flight Club level prices at average at best looks.
Next I head to Henry VIII. Higher chance of finding a decent dancer to have some fun with. If there isn't I get a pass for Bogarts.
I don't go to Bogart's, but instead first head over to Flight Club for a half hour or so of some eye candy. I may luck out and find a "reasonable" dancer, if not I just drive across the street to Bogart's.
If I find nothing at Bogart's, then I try again the next day.
I didn't mention BT's yet, since I have yet to try them.

Meat, I thought my cheapest and shortest time ever in a strip club was low, but that beats me.
My best deal in an extras club is two or three times a year when visiting relatives, I take a two hour drive to a club with two option. A small private curtained room which costs $40 for three songs, and the typical cost for oral fun ranges from $40 to $75 depending on the dancer, is it covered and will she allow CIM. My favorite is $40 for everything, add in $5 cover and $2 drink and I am in and out for $87 in less than 15 minutes.
A great price for a quickie. And for some more fund, there is a half hour area for $90 plus tips. The same gal above wanted $125 for everything, and we can go as many times as we want in the half hour. So basically in and out for $222.
I have gotten cheaper in Detroit, but never for a full half hour in a very roomy room with the same quality of dancer Closest I have came was $250 for a dance, add in cover, valet and tips, and I am typically out $300 and it's one and done.

One I thought I would never hear of but had one tell me last year.
"I must warn you I sometimes lose control of my bladder if I have had too much to drink," from a dancer who was way beyond having too much to drink.
Needless to say I skipped her.

Interesting winex. Never though of that. And yes trademark squatters have been a problem over the years, but really seemed take off over the last few years. Didn't hear much about them in the press, but did hear mention of various places I worked over the years having to spends a significant amount of their legal budget litigating on this.

"Social justice" is just a stupid term made up by the left, and is no different than the rights "Family Values" bullshit. I wish both parties would just fucking implode and dozens of smaller parties would show up like Europe. The two party system has devolved into its end state of full polarization. No critical thinking, no compromise and tittle sanity on either side. The only thing is at the moment the right is a lot more insane than the left, but I expect just as much stupidity if the Democrats end up gaining the presidency, the senate and the house.
Iff they follow up packing the Supreme Court that the left wing pundits want them to do, and completely shut down the country until COVID-19 is eradicated, which it's too late to be, then we will be just as fucked as we are now.

Some are good some aren't. One dancer I liked had a glow in the dark tongue piercing, glow in the dark earings, glow in the dark barbells on her nipples, a glow in the dark belly button ring and a glow in the dark clit ring. The entire ensemble looked quite sexy on her, and she gave quite a good dance.
Another dancer with the same setup, but much cheaper jewelry, especially a too thick plastic nipple rings did nothing for me.
Also whether a dancer likes them touched or not depends on the dancer. While some didn't like them touched, many actually wanted them to be played with.
One of my favorites had nipples that would get quite erect when played with. She eventually got them pierced and they stayed constantly erect when she had them in. She said she didn't wear them long when she wasn't dancing, but in the club she did, because she liked how they looked. She also liked them played with a lot more when I got dances from her.
The only time I think they universally look bad is when they have to wear pasties. One dancer did give a good attempt at wearing her barbell piercings over the pasties. It still didn't look good.

Iceyloco, Aunt Jemima was the only good store bought syrup I could find. Most of the good stuff I bought came from the local Maple farm.
On a side note, I happened to stumble on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on the local PBS station, and the little girls name in the show was named Jemima Potts. I was even more surprised that it was based off of a book by Ian Flemming. The same Ian Flemming who created James Bond.

As others said it depends on the location, and also the dancer. Back in the summer of 2010, I visited Club Risque in Philly on a weekday, and the crowd was larger than any club in Columbus Ohio on a Friday or Saturday. There were even more dancers, most of whom were very hot. Ones flowed almost constantly for many of the dancers when they were on stage. The dancer I asked must have made $150 just in tips in one stage, and based on the number of stages she danced on the entire 2 hours i was there, I wouldn't be surprised if she made well over $1000 in tips alone. Lap dances were lame, but that didn't seem to deter the dancers. I got two songs from her for $50 if I recall, which seemed to be the norm. I wouldn't be surprised if many dancers, the hot blonde I chose included, took home well over $2000 a night.
Sundowner in Niagara Falls was even larger and more crowded, with even more stages. Tips didn't flow nearly as much as club risque, but private dances occurred a lot more regularly for a lot more time and with a lot more spent The two different dancers I tried both likely made more than the top dancer in Risque.

I have met several germaphobic dancers all of whom gave great dances, including extras.
The first at the now closed Platinum Plus in South Carolina. The next was Atlantis in Largo Florida, and the third worked at Flight Club and a few other more upscale Detroit clubs.
The strangest one worked at several clubs down south including Platinum Plus, I can't remember which club it was but I think it was either Scarlets in Tampa or Platinum Plus.
When she starts, she covers the seat with a cloth which I have seen others do before, then she places a light scarf on my lap and begins a lap dance. I have had others do this before, except I never saw one pull her scarfs and towels out of a plastic bag in her large purse. Other than that her lap dance was great., and when she brings up extras and I agree.
Then she tells me she's a germaphobe and wants to clean me and her up. Gets out some plastic gloves, some sort of body wash washes both of us up all over our intimate parts, and most of our upper body. At this point I am so stunned I go along. She then neatly packs up her cleaning supplies. Then she replaces her plastic gloves with a pair of long white silken gloves, after this she proceeds with the typical extras laden dance common to the club.

It was about ten years ago or so. A very large bachelors party arrived. Shortly after they arrived one of my favorites sits down and asks if I wanted to go back now, before the crowd gets too crazy. Two songs later two for one is called and she is telling me how horrible bachelor parties are, how she knew she would get called to entertain them, which is a complete waste of her time, and she never makes any money while they are there.
She asks if I'll get an hour dance from her at a huge discount, basically $250 instead of the typical $400 at that time, that way she could avoid them.
That was basically my budget for the day anyway, which I suspect she know, so who was I to refuse. We head back, and she hands my $250 along with her own $150. She gives a very good dance for the hour we are there and I tip her an extra $75 as we leave..
This one was the best deal at a non-extras club. I'll have to think a bit on what was the best deal at an extras club.

It depends on many factors. How strict the various authorities are, does the club have strict rules, or are they tollerent or look the other way. How private are the dance areas. Does the club have a large number of hot dancers, with high turnover, draw large crowds with lots of stage tipping and a steady stream of guys getting lap dances. In these type of clubs I may find 1 percent who offer extras, or and maybe 5 percent who offer OTC action.
Or is it more laid back regulars type of club, with low dancer turnover, and the owners and bouncers don't interfere with dancers, and the city basically leaves the clubs alone. Depending on the clubs and the city, in non-high extra cities it's typically anywhere from a low of 5% to a high of 50% who either offer some extras or more likely OTC.
In high extras cities such as the Detroit area it's more around 80 percent.

Now to answer the original question. According to parents and uncles who lived through the protests in the 60's, it was just as bad, and the government reacted just as stupidly. Just look at the Kent State shootings as one example. My uncle was in Grad School at Ohio State when this occurred, and he mentioned riots there also, and smelling tear gas in his dorm as high as the fifth floor of the tower, and having trouble sleeping from the spotlights that were shined around the campus, and at the dorms.
