How Many States Have You Strip Clubbed In?
For me, it's about 27 or 28 (if DC counts as a state), two Canadian provinces, and Tijuana. So many clubs, so little time...

Pick Pocketed at Strip Club
VBD, sorry to hear this happened to you! Shadowcat has warned me about her, too. It's no accident that my strip club pants and shorts all have pockets that have zippers, buttons, or velcro. Not that that's a guarantee, but I assume it lessens the risk. A few years ago, I got my wallet lifted in Chicago while I was on the train, going from from downtown to O'Hare Airport. (Lemme tell ya, getting through the TSA checkpoint was a real challenge without any identification!) After that, because I'm *really* wary in strip clubs, I got an oversized wallet that I keep in my back pocket. Because of its size, it's really, really hard to get it in and out of that pocket, which is a royal PITA whenever I'm paying for drinks or dances. However, if anyone tries to lift my wallet, they'll be tugging at it for about 15 minutes, and I'd be a real PL not to notice that.

"Do you come here often?"
I travel a good bit and find myself as a first-timer in lots of clubs around the country. I often get asked that question, and though you don't want to come off as a complete newbie, if you lie and say you've been there before, it's hard to carry on a conversation through the follow-up questions the dancer is likely to ask. I always answer truthfully and say, "No, it's my first time here -- but *definitely* not my first visit to a strip club." The next question I get is usually, "How did you hear about us?" The answer is *never* TUSCL (lol); I usually say a friend recommended it or I found it on the internet, which seems to satisfy them. After establishing that this is not my first SC rodeo but my first time *in this club*, I often ask "How do dances work here?" which generally leads to a pretty standard recitation of what the options are, i.e., prices for topless, nude, floor dance, lap dance room, VIP, etc. (though not necessarily a discussion of *her* full menu right off the bat). I usually pose the general question about dances to the first three dancers I meet, even if they're not my type, as a way to get a good read on the accuracy of the info and to see if I'm getting played by any of them. If I tell them I've been to more than 100 strips clubs, I think they know better than to try to snow me.

New look sucks on desktop
Founder, I love this site and rely heavily upon it for entertainment and advice. I appreciate all the work you've put into it and your willingness to solicit feedback. As I said in a previous comment, I generally like the new format and am happy to take the time to get used to it. Got a question, though. I check the site twice a day, every day -- mornings for reviews and evenings for discussions. My preference is to check all of *yesterday's* reviews first thing in the morning (about 6:00 a.m. on the east coast), since submission of yesterday's reviews are then "closed" and I know I'm not missing any for that date. I pretty much read them all, as I travel a fair amount and love to visit new clubs. I also enjoy well-written reviews of clubs I know I'll never visit. There are some really good writers here! However, now in the morning when I click on "New Reviews" or "Strip Club Reviews," the screen says there are no reviews. Later in the day I can see the *current* day's reviews, at which time I can scroll down, click on yesterday's date, and then I can see all of those. It appears that I can't see any past reviews (by date) until at least one new review for the current day is published. Is that right? If so, I'm wondering if that could be changed. (And, yes, I know I can get to reviews by clicking through a whole bunch of things elsewhere on the site, but that's a whole lot less convenient than just scrolling down and reading as I scroll.) FYI, I access the site via laptop (mornings) and desktop (evenings, or, furtively, at work).

So who else hates the new look TUSCL?
I've been following this discussion periodically for the last couple of days as I poke around the site and get used to the new format. I use both a desktop and laptop with Chrome and/or Firefox and have not yet tried it on my phone (which I rarely use to access TUSCL). Everything looks fine to me, including the sans serif font. I'm generally OK with the new format. I am eagerly awaiting the return of "Comments" (formerly "Props") that used to appear with the reviews. Though some comments are not helpful, many ask clarifying questions or offer additional information. I saw the back-and-forth discussion about being able to see the user profiles or not in the reviews, and the consensus seems to favor hiding those details as the default. When reading reviews, I **always** look at that info -- often first -- as it informs my degree of confidence in what I'm reading. (I usually skip reviews by first-time posters unless they are relatively long and filled with details.) I know I can get to the profile info, but every morning I peruse the previous day's entire collection of reviews and I hate having to click on that little triangle every. single. time. Here's my suggestion, Founder: Would you be able to give us an option in My Settings to automatically show user profiles if that's what we prefer? It would be like the one for "Hide Banner Ads -- Yes/No."

Is there anything Donald Trump is willing to tell the truth about
^^^ rockstar666 said, "Until they see he's a false god, our nation is in peril. The Democrats are helpless...only the GOP can save our country from this mad man." John Oliver talked about this very thing last night on his TV show. Addressing the lawmakers who he said were supposed to be keeping Trump in check, Oliver concluded “And if you don’t, it’s no longer on Trump. It’s on you. Because when you’ve got the presidential equivalent of a 5-year-old shitting on the salad bar of a Ruby Tuesday’s, at some point, you stop blaming the 5-year-old and you start blaming the people who are not stopping him. Stop that boy, that’s what I’m saying. Stop that boy, now.”

Old timers and tats
Papi asked us if our viewpoint has evolved, and for me (an old-timer), the answer is no. I also grew up in an era when only low-lifes and servicemen got tattoos, but that's not really the issue for me. It generally doesn't stop me from getting dances, but I just don't like tattoos. I like the female body in its purest form, and I think anything that takes away from the natural look is an unwanted distraction. For me, that also includes piercings. I like a girl with a little makeup and maybe pierced ears, but beyond that, I prefer to see women unadorned. I don't even like tan lines (though I know that can be a turn-on for some). I *will* say that I have seen some really well-done tattoos -- real works of art -- but for the most part, I see dancers with tattoos that are so ugly, or so poorly done, or so freakin' extensive that I just shake my head. I don't like it when dancers show up with green hair or one side of their head shaved, either, but that's temporary. When I see a guy's name tattooed on a girl's body, I'll bet nine times out of ten that it is -- or will become -- a point of regret. And it certainly does nothing for me. To each his own, I guess. And now that you've finished reading my curmudgeonly rant, you can check out my anti-social media site called GetOffMyLawn-dot-Now. :-)

Two girl lapdance
I have done both lap dances and extended VIPs with two girls, and I agree with goosman -- it's really hit or miss. You're best off talking with the girls in advance and being clear about what you're looking for. In my somewhat limited experience with this, the two-girl lap dances -- i.e., short-duration situations -- were just so-so. (With one exception, which was a well-spent afternoon last October visiting a club in Florida with a dancer who posts here on TUSCL.) The VIPs I have done were mixed -- some were pretty lame and a near-total waste of money, but a couple were just awesome. I recently did a 30-minute VIP with two girls at Follies who knew one another well, and we all had a blast. The other one was when I went upstairs at Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club in Tijuana with two lively spinners who were half sisters. Ay, caramba!! But it's a crap shoot. To quote Forest Gump, "Mama always said life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

How many .....
I've met two. Got dances from Tempest666 at Double Visions in Horsham PA, and I met Eve Hartley at Scores in Jacksonville FL (not the club where she works) on a Saturday afternoon, and she and I enjoyed having some dancers entertain us together (see her recent review). Both were incredibly gracious with their time and attention. Absolutely lovely gals. Smart, funny, and sexy.

Continuation of Tijuana Discussions
It's definitely shaving cream -- I've seen the cans it comes out of when they line the edges of the stage with it at the start of the show. I've also gotten it on my roamin' hands. Yes, whipped cream would seem to be, uh, tastier, but I think the unrefrigerated residue from the whipped cream over time would go bad -- like soured milk -- and the place would reek. When I was there, in addition to the shaving cream, the girls used vanilla syrup on their pussies and proceeded to lick the hell out of each other. Again, I saw the containers it came out of. Damn, I wish I lived closer...

Weekly club visits
I only get to visit strip clubs the few times a year I get to travel out of state, and when I can, I have been known to make repeat visits to clubs I consider to be high value. Last month, work took me to Atlanta. I scheduled my business appointments in the morning and hit Follies in the afternoon four times in five days, which was a record for me. My previous record was when I visited Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club in Tijuana three times in four days. Yes, some places are just that good. ;-)

Other than being more expensive, is an air dance really any different than sitting at the tip rail and watching the hottie dance for a buck or two in tips? Lovely Eve, if I could join you for the high mileage dance, that would be my pick for sure. ;-)

Your SC standard by which you judge other SCs
Like a number of others here, I take things as they come and have had a great time at many a club even though maybe the girls weren't the prettiest, or extras weren't available, or something else about the club or the visit wasn't just perfect. If you have high expectations every time you enter a new club, you're bound to be disappointed more often than not. That said, Follies has spoiled me, with its low or non-existent cover (during the day, at least), pretty and diverse women who give low-cost, high-mileage dances (which are plentifully available during the day), reasonable VIP costs, an unobtrusive staff and non-ego-driven DJs. But I am still shaking my head about the three visits in four days I made to Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club in Tijuana in November, 2014. Day or night, every single girl there was someone's "9" or "10" and for one dollar you could do more with pretty much any one of them than you can do in at least 50% of the clubs in the states. And that's just for starters. I guess for me, the standard boils down to value -- Just what am I getting for my money?

strip club pl veteran. are you one?
For me it was the Pilgrim Theater in Boston's Combat Zone in 1973 while in college. Stopped clubbing when I got married in 1980, but started up again in the late 1990s. Have seriously upped my PL game since joining TUSCL, where I have learned so much. Many thanks to all faithful contributors; I will be eternally grateful for the knowledge you have shared.

Your first encounter with a shaved pussy.
Can't remember exactly when I saw my first shaved pussy, but I saw plenty of unshaved ones -- up close and personal -- from the late '60s through the '70s and '80s. The pleasurability of DATY in those days was hit or miss, depending on how soft or coarse the public hair was. If it was soft and downy, it was heavenly. My ex's hair was so coarse, it reminded me of movie director Lawrence Kasdan's long-ago comment that eating bean sprouts was like going down on an alien. Her's was kinda like that, so I traded her for a softer model!

Car rental out of state ...how that work ?
I haven't always rented a car when I've flown to another city on business (or on my own dime), but I've done it on many occasions. It's easy and though the cost varies by city, sometimes it's even cheap. I flew to Dallas once, and a cab would have cost me $30 from the airport to my hotel downtown and another $30 to go back -- and a rental car was only $15 a day. I think especially if you're staying at a place with free parking, it can be a no-brainer if the cars are that cheap. A couple of years ago, I rented a brand new compact car in Vegas for only $11 a day. I could have gotten one for $10 a day, but decided to splurge. lol If you have a car at your disposal during your stay, think of all the Uber or cab fees you'll save as you visit all the strip clubs in town. Works for me.

How long have you been in the SC game?
My first foray into this world was during college in 1973, at the infamous Pilgrim Theater in Boston's Combat Zone. I have been a serious hobbyist since 2000 -- a year which included my first trip to Follies in Atlanta. I don't visit any clubs close to home, but whenever and wherever I travel without my better half, I try to do a little indoor sight-seeing in darkened rooms. I have been to about 130 clubs in 25 states, the District of Columbia, two Canadian provinces, and Tijuana.

News from Follies
Glad you're back in the saddle, Shadowcat. I will be there in two weeks, and with the new ordinance, I'll be anxious to see if there's any change -- although if they extend things until the end of the month I might not see any difference. However, it sounds like in the long run it might mean fewer girls on duty, and with fewer girls, I wonder if that will provide an incentive for the non-felonious girls who pass the background check to charge more for VIPs. That would be a crime in and of itself.

wedding bands
I agree with lopaw. I have always worn my wedding ring in the clubs, and it doesn't make one bit of difference to the dancers. Most don't notice or even look. Independent of my wearing the ring, I have had quite a few dancers, just in making conversation, ask me if I'm married. I always say yes (because it's the truth), and that doesn't make one bit of difference to the dancers, either. As has been said, it's money that matters.
