I've been traveling to Atlanta for business maybe 1-3 times a year since 1998, and I think I've been going to Follies since 1999 or 2000. I discovered it by accident (didn't know anything about TUSCL back then) and just liked it, even though it was not known for UHM. (Was any club back then? I don't really know and I'd love to hear what y'all remember about mileage in strip clubs in 2000.) I agree with Shadowcat that in the last five years (or maybe just a little longer), Follies has really come into its own.

Like the humorist Will Rogers, who died in 1935, said, "I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat." Actually, I think the same could be said about the Republican party today. Not much cohesion there these days...

Other than the guys (and gals) on TUSCL, there is only one person who knows about my hobby -- Ginger, the woman who cuts my hair. I've known her for nine years; she also cuts my wife's hair. She's a really attractive blond, mid 30s, and I've always known she has a little bit of a wild streak. A couple of years ago while she was cutting my hair, I was talking about another upcoming business trip to Atlanta, and she just paused the conversation for a minute. She said, "I don't know if you're into such things, but you know Atlanta is famous for its strip clubs." She talked about visiting a couple clubs there once, and some around here, and all the while I was biting my tongue. Finally I said to her, "I'm going to tell you something I have never shared with anyone else." And, because I know this woman quite well and trust her completely, I told her that in the last 15 years I have been to more than 100 strip clubs all across the US, in Canada, and in Tijuana. All my clubbing is confined to when I travel out of town, and whenever I see her (which is about once every five weeks), she asks for a complete report. She is totally into women (as well as men), and she has had some pretty explicit exploits in clubs around the local area. At first it was kind of weird for me to be sharing my travel stories with anyone outside of TUSCL, but it's kind of liberating in a way. It's also fun that she's so into it. I don't club locally (too risky being seen by anyone who knows me or would tell my wife), but sometimes when my wife is out of town, I'll travel an hour away to visit clubs, and I've been begging Ginger to come with me. She has a boyfriend, and so far, because of that, she has said no, but I'm still hoping that someday we'll be able to do that. I really prefer to go clubbing alone, but I would go with her in a heartbeat.

Probably the hottest two-girl action I ever saw in a regular strip club was 15 years ago in the old Tootsie's location in N. Miami Beach (Ives Dairy Road at Hwy 441). Two completely nude girls on their backs on stage sharing a long, translucent red double-headed rubber dildo -- and not with their mouths. Very hot. Then there's the recurring lesbian shaving cream shows at Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club in Tijuana, but that's not really a regular strip club, is it?

Not twins, but a little over a year ago, I met two stunningly gorgeous half-sisters at Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club in Tijuana and took them upstairs together for $100, total, for both. OMFG. Without a doubt, the most memorable 30 minutes of my life, not to mention the best bang for the buck.

Thank you all for your insights, which for me are very timely. I have never been to Detroit, but will be there this weekend for a whirlwind tour. I only recently found out I'd be in the area, and have been doing my TUSCL research for a couple of weeks. For a guy like me who likes extras and prefers dives to divas and does not have unlimited funds (and only a few days/nights to devote to clubbing), it seems like I'm best off hitting the suburbs (Romulus, Inkster, Dearborn). Watch for reviews next week. In the meantime, any additional suggestions from the experts based on the current SC climate in the area would be much appreciated!

For you old farts (like me) on here, this will take you back. When I was 12 years old my family was on vacation in southern California and we got to visit the set of a TV show while it was being filmed. It was "My Favorite Martian," and during a break in filming, Ray Walston (the star of the show) came over and talked to us for about 10 or 15 minutes. Super nice guy. I've had chance encounters and interacted with a lot of musicians, partly because (being a part-time musician myself) I'm not shy about accosting them wherever I happen to see them. I once rode in an elevator in the Prudential Building in Boston for 50 floors with David Crosby (of Crosby Stills & Nash). Neil Young was in the next elevator over; it was him and about 20 girls. David Crosby was very gracious. Neil Young, not so much. About a month after that (still in Boston), a buddy and I ran into musician extraordinaire Frank Zappa in the Burger King on Boylston Street in Back Bay. My buddy said, "Frank - - what are you doing in Burger King??" He said, "I'm gettin' a Whopper with cheese!!" About 20 years ago, before hardly anyone had heard of the then-new FX cable channel, they ran a daily 90-minute morning show from NYC called Fox After Breakfast. It was supposed to be sort of a hip version of the Today show, telecast live from a big apartment in the Flatiron area of Manhattan. Each day they had a "real family" on, which they seated in the kitchen and served breakfast to while the show was going on. My sister got her, me and my wife on. It was a fairly lame show, but the day we were on, before and after the show, we got to meet and interact with Gladys Knight (of Gladys Knight and the Pips, a soul group from the 1970s) who was that week's guest co-host, comedian Rodney Dangerfield, and actress Heather Locklear. Heather Locklear was *so* f-ing good-looking, probably 10 times more attractive than she ever looked on TV. Rodney Dangerfield, on the other hand, looked 10 times worse. The host of the show was an unknown-at-the-time Tom Bergeron, who went on to host "America's Funniest Videos" (or whatever it was called) and eventually "Dancing with the Stars." For the record, Tom Bergeron is one of the nicest people I've ever met; so was Gladys Knight.

I was in college in Boston in the early 1970s, and my roommate, who was a theater tech major, worked at the Pilgrim Theatre. He handled all of their tech work -- lighting, sound, and whatever else needed to be done. What he didn't tell me for quite some time is that the theater featured strippers. The Pilgrim Theatre was one of the most infamous places in an area of downtown that was called the Combat Zone, Boston's way of containing the seedier elements of society (like yours truly, I guess). The typical thing at the Pilgrim Theatre was for them to show what were then called XXX movies for an hour, put live strippers on stage for 30 minutes, then repeat that rotation. At age 20, I had never seen a stripper, and I asked my roommate about it -- and wondered whether it would be OK to bring my girlfriend, who was as curious as I was. He said sure, and told me that they didn't do anything the law didn't allow. Sounded safe enough for me. We came into what looked like a normal movie theater with a stage. Yes, the porno movie was going full tilt, as graphic as anything you'd see online today, and the most startling thing was that instead of the movie soundtrack, all you could hear was loud rock music blaring from the speakers. Much to my delight, it was the Allman Brothers. Sweet!! The strip show was quite an eye-opener for my 18-year-old girlfriend and me -- apparently the law allowed the girls to dance in nothing but high heels, and the expression "spread eagle" took on a whole new meaning for me. I transferred to a university in the Midwest, and I definitely hit a few strip clubs there with my buddies, but at that time, I don't think there were anything resembling lap dances, let alone extras. Fast forward 25 years and 20 years of marriage. I started traveling more (on my own) for work and got the itch to see some new sights. In 2000 I started visiting clubs pretty regularly whenever I could. I think I've been going to Follies in Atlanta that long, and I can remember going to Tootsie's in Miami when it was in the old location. I discovered TUCSL only a year ago, and if you read my reviews, you'll see I've made good use of the knowledge I've gained here. Thanks to all my TUSCL brethren (and sistren) for all of the tips!

OK, don't judge me. I've been very happily married to a wonderful gal for 35 years, but I'm just a PL with a very high sex drive and a need for variety. I've been fortunate enough to stay in touch with several of my old girlfriends, sometimes with benefits, for quite some time. Mileage is important to me, so if extras are available in a private area, a topless place is OK, but still not my favorite. I doubt I would ever knowingly go to a bikini club unless I knew for sure that more (i.e., MUCH more) was available in the back. I agree with Papi that dancers in nude clubs are often more comfortable with extras. I mean, they're already nude on stage, so the VIP should almost automatically be an upgrade from that. As for innies and outies, I will eat anything, whether beef or vagitarian, but I do slightly prefer the slimmer lipped ones. I remember one dancer with an innie at a nude club in Jacksonville, Florida was doing a series of provocative squats on stage, and every time she bent her knees, her pussy lips parted. Still gets me hard thinking about that -- even though it was 15 years ago!

I went to HK three times last month, and the only thing I was asked -- all three times -- was whether I was bringing anything back with me. I thought to myself, "God, I HOPE not..." but just answered "No" and was sent on my way.

I liked the Hound's list a lot, especially the rules against music so loud you can't talk to the girls and DJs you can't understand. As for women patronizing SCs, I like it just fine. I really enjoy seeing women get turned on, and watching a civilian female getting felt up or semi-disrobed by a stripper is a nice diversion. In Atlanta I came really close to getting a lap dance from a drunk and horny civilian at a crowded bar at Follies (I was stopped by a bouncer), and at Cheetah's (super crowded after a Braves game) I actually did; both were perfect strangers and the action was initiated by them, not me, due to the fact that I just happened to be standing next to them (and no money was exchanged). Fun times. On the other hand, last night I saw a guy come in to the SC in full drag -- heels, dress, falsies, wig, the whole nine yards. He was a big six-footer who was built more like a linebacker than a stripper. He was having a good time and hung out with a table of dancers most of the evening. He wasn't bothering anyone, and there were no problems, but to be honest with you, I liked seeing the women customers at the edge of the stage a lot more than I liked seeing him. Kinda creepy, if you ask me.

Shadowcat said, "I had one favorite that always insisted on wiping down the couches with anti bacteria handy wipes before even sitting down back there." I did a VIP with her when I was there last August. Not only did she use the handy wipes on the couch, she also used them on my hands!

Topher, the wristband allows you free entrance to HK during the times they charge a cover to get in. If you only went in during the day, yeah, you wouldn't have noticed much difference.

Great write-up, tahoecruz, as usual. Thanks for memorializing our time together. I have never seen a 49-year-old with a body that fit -- and would not have believed it possible had I not seen it for myself. Regarding prices: I mentioned in my review that one CC girl wouldn't budge from $100, but upon my hesitancy offered to pick up the room cost, then offered to pick up the room cost *and* go for an hour. I believe asking for an an additional half hour is a good negotiating strategy at CC for either the girl or the monger to explore, in a way that might not work at Hong Kong. If a CC girl settles for, say, $60 for 30 minutes, when she comes back downstairs she could go for a long time before she gets another taker at any price because there are not that many customers (and plenty of competition from other girls). In other words, if she holds at $100 and agrees to an hour, she is getting more money for the second half hour than if she went upstairs for 30 minutes at $60 or $80 and then sat idle for the next 30 minutes, which is likely here. Hong Kong is different -- there are so many customers there, she would be more likely to make money when she comes back down from a trip upstairs. Just my two cents, and as always, your mileage may vary -- as will hers.

Cristobal, I don't think so, but who knows? Anything is possible. I certainly know better than to think that every stripper follows through on what they tell you. I was disappointed not to have a second session with her, but as I wrote in my review, I certainly got over it quickly -- and made a new friend.

Seriously? A first-time reviewer and nobody flagged this as a club ad? He just joined TUSCL and said "After reading reviews here we chose (wisely)"? Sky-high ratings with nothing negative to say while running down other clubs up & down Bourbon?Sorry, I'm not buying it.

^^^ A true statement about expectations, especially in an unknown environment. Trump decided to give Mexico a year to get its act together before he shuts down the border, so the weekend plans are on as scheduled and HKTJ will provide everything I need.

Nice review. The VIP is bigger than a broom closet, but it's about as fancy as one. It's only $20 to the house to use it and then whatever you negotiate with the girl. It's totally private and pretty much anything is available at very reasonable prices, so the value proposition is quite high.

What were the other two places you visited before going to Cowboys?

I'm in the area once a year and I almost always stop in, usually on a Friday or Saturday afternoon when there's no cover. I like the fully nude dancing done on a stage just a few feet from you, and the mileage during the tip walk afterwards is better than average. On my first visit maybe six or seven years ago, they *did* have private rooms, and I had an amazing time with a girl named Jessalyn in a room that had a round beanbag bed in it. Unfortunately, they remodeled the back rooms a few years ago and now it's exactly as Studme53 described -- and not worth it, IMO. If you avoid doing "private" dances, it's an inexpensive way to view some nude stage dances up close and cop a few feels afterwards. It's not bad as a warm-up to the nearby Playhouse Lounge, where satisfaction is pretty much guaranteed.
