I alternate between books I want to read and books I should have read, according to people who think they now. Right now I’m reading Anna Karenina. Both Starship Troopers and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress are awesome reads. Heinlein’s social and political commentaries are pretty shallow, but both books are really fun reads.

Houston - A terrible place to visit but a great place to live! If it weren’t for the kids and grandkids I’d move back in a heartbeat. I used to enjoy Men’s Club without doing any VIP or OTC. The women are simply beautiful and many of them have great personalities. I could spend hours there just chatting with the ladies.

I lived in Houston for 15 years and would choose Option 1 with or without the SB. There’s lots of willing girls in Houston, just not as cheap or as in your face as in TJ.

I frequented this club when I lived in Houston 5-6 years ago. Doesn’t sound like anything’s changed except the price of VIP has gone up. The club is much livelier in the evening, but that’s also when the hustlers and the ROBs come out.

I used to go there a lot (5 years ago), but it seems things are changing. VIP was always an option, but it was so expensive that the girls didn’t push it much. Based on this and other recent reviews it seems that VIP activity is much increased.

The one time I’m sure I insulted a dancer was when I stopped in a club on my way home from work. I told her “No dances, and don’t sit too close to me. I can’t afford to wear your god-awful strong perfume to my home!” Asking her age is not the social faux pas it once was, either in a club or outside. If a girl can’t take rejection then she doesn’t belong in this business.

A stripper was so drunk that she passed out on my lap in the middle of a lap dance. I assumed that she was just so drunk, and not that I was such a boring customer.

Forget the strip club part, he should be fired for getting drunk while chaperoning, or supervising, or whatever, on a school field trip.

Thank you, Gammanu, for enlightening me. Until your post I had never heard of Marianne Williamson. She sure looks good for 66 years old!

It’s not the usual stripper who is really making $300-400 per hour. Most strippers have considerable “down time” between dances, while they’re looking for their next ATM. So, I don’t feel taken when asked for an extra tip, if the dance was good. Where I willingly give tips, and sometimes substantial tips, is if the dance has been exceptionally good, or if the dancer has spent significant time providing good companionship via good conversation, snuggling or whatever before the dance. My CF will always make a beeline to me when I walk in the door, provides exceptional and almost unlimited conversation and gives excellent dances. All this to the point that I frequently shoo her away after an hour or so because I know she is passing up other good income just to be with me. (She is disgusted by whales and despises whale hunters.) She always gets a very nice tip from me even if it’s not whale-like.

I saw colleagues in clubs three times. Two of those colleagues were at a higher pay grade than me. So, I figured I had the advantage.

The wanna-be physicist I knew looked somewhat like you’d expect a physicist to look like. Not a real good stripper look.

A girl who was in a Ph.D. Program in physics. She could speak the lingo, so I believed her.

30+ years ago. Jason’s in Windsor, ON. I was tricked into it. I had a business trip to Detroit. My colleague said he knew a great steakhouse across the river in Windsor. Knowing nothing about Windsor I said sure, why not. Driving to the restaurant we saw a large warehouse-looking building with no signs and a long line stretching down the block. We went on to the restaurant, which I thought cooked a very ordinary steak, but all through dinner the colleague talked about that long line of guys and what they could possibly be waiting for. He went off to chat with our waiter, I think just for show, came back and said it was a very nice nightclub, and wouldn’t I like to go see it. With nothing else to do that night, I said sure, why not. We stood in line a while and finally got inside - naked girls everywhere! We got back to the hotel at about 2 am. I’m convinced this was all a set-up, and that I won him a few bucks on a bet. At the time I had a reputation at work as a very straight-laced religious person. When I got back to work I told no one where I’d been, but within a couple days it seemed everyone knew, but I never confessed. That, of course, was the start of my long, slow slide into debauchery. If I recall correctly, dances were $5 each. I have no idea if there was VIP or not. The girls would carry around wooden boxes about two feet square and a foot high. They placed the boxes on the floor between the customers legs and stood on them for the dances. No touch, no grind. They would strip naked, but they always kept a piece of clothing around their necks when dancing. I wondered if that was to meet some sort of anti-obscenity regulation, like always have on a piece of clothing. I’ve never been back there. It seems Jason’s is closed because I’ve never seen them referenced on here.

OK, a little more detail. The guy had sildenafil (the active ingredient in Viagra) in solution form and chugged an unknown, but apparently, large amount. It was most certainly way above the recommended dosage. He also waited two days to see a doctor by which time the damage was irreversible. It was also purchased off the internet which leaves open the possibility of an adulterated product.

Papa, move to Houston. I lived there for 15 years and loved it, and not just for the SC scene. If it wasn’t for family I’d still live there.

I saw but did not “meet” Christy Canyon in an adult bookstore in Houston in about 2001. Not attractive at all with really saggy breasts. Also met a dancer at St James in Houston a couple years later. She told me she was going to move to LA to become a porn star. She looked good enough to succeed. I told her she should get in a lot of practice first and offered my help. She declined. So, that one probably doesn’t count.
