Don't risk your career for lame Washington DC strip clubs. Port Allen Catholic school principal resigns after arrest at strip club while on school field trip Michael Comeau, the principal at Holy Family Catholic school in Port Allen and an educator who previously received the prestigious $25,000 Milken award, has resigned after his arrest early Friday at a Washington D.C. strip club while on a school field trip to the nation's capital. Dan Borne, spokesman for the Diocese of Baton Rouge, said in a statement that the incident occurred while Comeau was with students on a school-sponsored trip, though students were in their hotel rooms under the supervision of other chaperones when Comeau was arrested. Comeau submitted his resignation as principal, Borne said. An interim principal will be appointed. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched about 2:20 a.m. Friday to Archibald's Gentlemen's Club on a complaint about "an intoxicated man refusing to pay his bill." The report says Comeau, 47, was found standing in a roadway "refusing to move." He was asked to move "multiple times" but "refused." Comeau was arrested on counts of public intoxication and possession of an open container of alcohol. WAFB cited sources saying Comeau had a service dog with him at the strip club, which is in downtown D.C., more than a quarter-mile walk from The White House. Neither the arrest report nor Borne's statement mention a service dog with Comeau at the time of his arrest. Comeau also resigned from his role as a reserve officer at the Brusly Police Department Friday morning, according to Chief Jonathan Lefeaux. Lefeaux said Comeau had served for the past six months on the force. Prior to his career in the Catholic school system, Comeau taught at Waller Elementary School in Bossier City for six years. Seen as a rising star locally and nationally, Comeau was named one of 20 outstanding teachers honored by USA Today and received the prestigious Milken education award, which comes with a $25,000 stipend. The Milken award references his gift for transforming “low-achieving students” into “high-achieving learners.” With a track record showing his commitment to struggling students, he was eventually hired in 2003 as an assistant principal to turn around the failing Prescott Middle School in Baton Rouge. Soon after he moved on to Greenbrier Elementary, but resigned in 2006 after he was accused of not reporting concession sales and mishandling $120,000 in Hurricane Katrina recovery donations intended for instructional purposes but that an audit said mostly went for other uses. Comeau had served as principal of Holy Family School for five years, Borne said. It is unclear whether the Diocese knew of Comeau's history at Greenbrier when he was hired. Holy Family School was founded in 1949 and serves pre-K to middle school students. Calls to the school went unanswered Friday.

Forget the strip club part, he should be fired for getting drunk while chaperoning, or supervising, or whatever, on a school field trip.

Port Allen, sounds like Louisiana, across the river from Baton Rouge. Reports of a club there where as soon as you walk in, it's not just one girl, but it's all of them who start climbing on you. SJG

Having been there before, Archibald's is certainly not worth losing your career over. He should have hired a ride out to the PG County suburbs...lol. But seriously what a dopey thing to do. I feel sorry for the guy.

Sounds like someone who was a great teacher based on the award who then turned into a piss poor administrator. Why would this school hire someone that had to resign for misuse of funds and not reporting sales? I wonder if he misused any of those funds at local strip clubs?
