There's a panhandler in Ann Arbor who uses a crutch. Sometimes the crutch is on the right, sometimes it's on the left. When he's commuting on foot to his home (he is not homeless), he carries the crutch under his arm.

Does it really say that sex acts are protected speech? Wouldn't that mean you could legally fuck in the street if you want?

Yes, they do seem to be getting younger. When I started going to clubs the girls were not much younger than me. Now they're half my age.

Smoke free. That's one of the biggest reasons I don't spend more time in the downscale Detroit clubs. The upscale clubs and the Toledo clubs are smoke free, so that's where I usually go.

I was surprised to read this, as I can't remember ever seeing nude dancing in a Michigan club that serves alochol. At least not recently. So I looked it up. This has been legal since 2007, when a Federal court struck down the Michigan law banning it! But it's not common, because only 5% of customers like nude dancing (yeah right). Doesn't make sense to me either. And if I somehow did feel guilty about getting a lapdance, how would it make me feel any better to know that the money isn't going to the dancer?

Club ATMs (and most of those at places like convenience stores) aren't owned by a bank or by the club. An intermediary company owns them and gives the club owner a cut of the fee in exchange for being given the space for the machine. I always assumed these companies are owned by organized crime but I don't really know.

The old Antwerp district was pretty seedy, but I never felt unsafe there. I kind of liked the rough look of it. I haven't seen the new one. What I like about Amsterdam is that it's very central and there are plenty of other businesses nearby so you can make an evening of it. I'm not sure I'd like a district that's far from the city center, especially if there is nothing else nearby. If you think the main red light district in Amsterdam is too touristy, there's another smaller one on the other side of the Damrak that never gets any tourists.

I used the ATM at Landing Strip in Detroit once, and paid a $25 fee. Now I make sure I've got plenty of cash with me, at least $300, more if I'm making an evening of it.

I see fewer drunk assholes in the strip clubs than I do in civilian clubs. I wonder why that is. Maybe the bouncers at the strip club are more diligent about keeping the assholes in check.

I've been in that situation and done 2 and 3 at different times. Not 1, but only because I have never had favorites in distant cities.

I must be in the minority for prefering to hear uncut songs. I actually listen to the music, or some of it anyway. As for the consistent revenue model, that doesn't demand all songs be the same length, only that the manager know what the average song length is, and that the variance isn't too high.

Music low enough to talk, no spotlights in the customers' eyes, DJ not an asshole (see Papi's point no. 3). That's the basics for me, beyond the obvious points everyone makes about beautiful girls who pay attention to me. Beyond that, I appreciate bartenders who know what they're doing, no bathroom troll, and free but not mandatory coat check. As for special events, I'd love to see one that's really special. I'm not talking about amateur night or biggest boob contest. I'm talking about juggling flaming chain saws, Rockettes style choreographed dance, acrobats, something I haven't seen before that's sexy and fun.

I started my working career in high cost cities, saved what I could, then moved to a low cost city (Detroit area, coincidentally also has great strip clubs). When I moved to Detroit area, I took a 25% pay cut, but bought a bigger house for half what I sold my old big-city house for. Car insurance, restaurant meals, taxes, and many other expenses are half what I used to pay. Lap dances are the same price but much higher mileage. A beer in a strip club can be as little as $2 (happy hour in Toledo) vs minimum $8-12 in the big city. My 401K is much bigger than the people around me and my retirement should be quite comfortable if we don't have another financial meltdown.

Not in Detroit or Toledo, and I know I would notice if they were.

I assume clam jam is a cock block for girls. Not the first time Lopaw has educated us with a new term. It would be when an unwanted dancer keeps the wanted dancers away.
