I guess I'm lucky in terms of VIP pricing. Just in my neck of the woods:
$150 for half hour: Club Rio in Indy, Night Moves in Bloomington, IN; various dive clubs in Washington Park, IL
$100 for half hour: Brad's Brass Flamingo in Indy, 6th Avenue Dancers in Terre Haute

I *did* fall for my ATF last year -- hard! It cost me some money and some heartbreak, but it left me wiser about the ways of strippers. Now I would classify myself as cautious but not cynical about strippers.

Now that I'm a veteran of lots of extras in VIP rooms, I would say that they're *not* worth it if you're not looking for extras. However, several years ago I used to do occasional VIPs in low-touch clubs just to be able to touch the dancer all over.
True story: One of the five most beautiful dancers I've seen in my 20+ years of clubbing, a stunning blonde with large natural breasts, worked at a low-touch club in Indiana. It frustrated me that I couldn't touch her tits during $20 lap dances, so one time I paid $150 for a 30-minute VIP, during which I touched her *everywhere* except the kitty. When we were done, she thanked me for being such a gentleman. I exclaimed "Girl, I just touched you all over!" and she replied "Yes, but you didn't try to finger-fuck me!" *This* is the world strippers live in, where they can't even do a VIP room without fighting to keep unwelcome fingers and other body parts out of their orifices.

Just raggin' on ya, man! Though I've never been cock-blocked on an OTC date by another chick, I've certainly been in the position of wondering whether I should have told my ATF how I felt about her. I think all of your choices of interviewee so far have been golden with the exception of RandomMember. Back when I was still reading his posts, he seemed really sour and charmless, and not just to me :) [It's not for nothing that JohnSmith69 calls him RandomAsshole.] These "10 Questions" interviews are the most interesting thing I've seen on TUSCL in a while -- keep it up!

Yes, I tip at the stage all the time. At my usual night spot, the Silver Bullet in Urbana, I sit at the stage and tip every dancer a dollar or two every set (except when I'm getting lappers -- a big exception!).

The man clearly said "I also don't want to go to a club downtown", so why are we even discussing Legends and Bouzouki? If he asked "Which soft drink should I order?", would you suggest bourbon or tequila?
I've been only to the Inkster clubs (Flight Club, Bogart's, Henry's) plus La Chambre, the Criket (sic), and Henry's South. @felipe, based on my own limited experience in Detroit-area clubs, my recommendation is the Criket: real women, ethnic diversity, reasonable prices, and very high mileage. It's the only club that I *always* visit on my annual pilgrimage to the D.

Club 390 in Chicago Heights, Club O in Harvey, and Hustler Club and Hollywood Show Club (which has a new name) in Washington Park serve alcohol and allow onstage nudity, but it seems that most of the girls, at least on day shift, give flashes of pussy only.
The Skybox in Harvey served alcohol and *all* of the dancers got nekkid on stage, but I don't know what's it like now as the more urban "The Boxxx".

I've had lots of good meals at my 3 favorite clubs in Indianapolis: Club Rio (which has a $5 special every day!), Dancers, and Brad's Brass Flamingo. Other than those three, I've never eaten food in a strip club.

Seriously, though most of the pics that I post feature larger-breasted women, IRL I gravitate to women for personality reasons more than anything. My ATF has B cups, as does my CF/current OTC girl. I get dances from and do VIPs with dancers sporting anywhere from A to DD tits. I am an equal-opportunity breast lover :) My one caveat is: they have to be real! My BYOB experience is quite limited, and I don't drink liquor, so I either bring a big can of beer with me or order soft drinks ITC:
* XTC Cabaret in Austin: I buy a fo'ty (actually a 24-oz can of Mexican beer) at a convenience store on the way to the club and nurse it there for a couple of hours
* Fluffers in Sparland, IL: same concept
* Hot Bodies in Austin: I ask the waitress to bring me a soft drink from the fridge
* Palace in the Pines in Lowellville, OH: I get my own soft drink from the fridge :)
