Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
RIP Judith Durham
I'm old enough to remember when "Georgy Girl" was being played all the time. Many of those 60s musical artists from my childhood should be passing away in the next few years. The biggest name from the 60s folk movement and the one that will get the most attention when he passes away will be Bob Dylan. I heard a story recently that when the boxer Mike Tyson met Dylan he had no idea who he was but came away quite impressed by him after having a conversation with him.

"It's possible before the end of the year, it will become known the US went into and emerged from a recession, and most Americans will have barely noticed." In the early eighties Volcker had to raise interest rates above the inflation rate to eliminate inflation. We will need to do this again. The Fed is currently taking little baby steps raising interest rates. We won't even be close to the interest rates needed by the end of this year. When we do raise interest rates to the needed level, it's going to be worse than the 2008 crisis. If we don't raise interest rates to the needed level, we will go into hyperinflation like Zimbabwe, Venezuela or Weimar Germany.

How you like being asked for a lap dance
I don't want them to sit down at my table uninvited. I would want them to ask if I want company or, better yet, let me approach them. I've noticed recently when I have a desire to go to a strip club I can often go there and leave without buying lap dances. I think the desire to go now is mostly coming from the belief that I might be missing something if I don't go. There might be a really friendly and attractive dancer there. All I need to do is go and, if no one is there like that, I can then leave.

The Biden administration changed the definition of "recession" from an objective definition to a subjective definition, with them being the ones deciding when the economy meets that subjective definition.

Keep it in my pants when I do OTC. If I were a stripper it would stand for I like big bucks and I can not lie.
OT: jobs that are easy on the back
My ATF got a job as a lawyer receptionist when she got too old to strip. There's lots of clerical jobs like this that don't require much beyond basic office skills like typing and being pleasant to people. A friendly personality is a plus and women who had successful stripper careers often have that. A stripper past probably won't seriously harm future career opportunities. The only problem my ATF had was she had to buy clothing with long sleeves to cover up all her arm tattoos. Many employers still expect their female employees to look and dress somewhat conservatively.

Recession signs
The lengthy Covid lockdowns will be increasingly seen as a mistake in the future as the long-term negative effects are felt. We tried to avoid the short-term negative effects by printing up and passing out six trillion dollars over two years. We increased the total money supply by 40% and that has led to inflation and higher prices. The lockdowns may have hurt poor people the most. They are suffering the most now from higher prices. During the lockdowns themselves, many of them were working since many of them were in essential jobs in areas like food production and distribution and were still exposed to the disease. Richer people, the laptop class, just got to stay home and work in their pajamas. Financial bailouts often went to the politically connected, not necessarily those who needed them the most. Large numbers of small businesses went under while Amazon and Walmart made huge profits. For some reason, delivering packages was considered not to spread Covid as the merchandise passed through the big Amazon warehouses that were still open to the delivery guys and going to a crowded big box store like Walmart to buy something like shoes was ok because it also sold food.

Recession signs
The stock markets aren't crashing because investors think the Fed will have killed off inflation by the end of the year and can pivot back to interest rate cuts. That's unlikely. Volcker had to raise interest rates above the inflation rate back in the eighties to eliminate the high inflation of that era and Powell will have to do the same thing. Right now, he's not anywhere close to it. When he does that, it will be worse than 2008.

Towns for Clubbing
It would be difficult to come up with a list because, in addition to the quality of the clubs, you also have to consider travel distance and the proximity of other attractions you are interested in. For example, I went to Vegas and the clubs were great, but it is too far away and lacking in other attractions (I don't care about gambling) so I would never go again. The one time I went there was because a couple old college friends invited me.

Over twenty years after 9/11 and I still feel unhappy when I think about it. I was a civilian military worker working around a bunch of soldiers. I walked into the building cafeteria and there must have been fifty soldiers standing around a television set with somber angry looks on their faces. My first thought was "there must be something really serious going on".

Bitcoin, Deja Vu
Bitcoin has no intrinsic value. The inflationary policies of the Fed have created multiple bubbles and the Bitcoin bubble is one of those bubbles. You have the Bitcoin bubble, stock market bubble, housing bubble etc. You can tell it is in a bubble because of the wild swings in value, as you mention in your comment. Something like that will never be considered a safe store of value, which is what is required for something to replace the dollar. Gold has been highly valued for thousands of years, so it is more likely to replace the dollar.

Question for Dancers: What Occupation impresses you the most?
When I tell dancers I work in accounting, instead of being impressed they just tell me I don't look like an accountant. One told me last week I look like an artist. Her mind was probably going "artist = no money".

Verified and Certifiable Super-Reviewer
Pussylicker2, Techman and Desertscrub - go fuck yourselves
"If a club has no reviews in the last 90 days and insufficient reviews in the last 18 months to register scores, the bar becomes basically a coherent string of words that convinces me the reviewer actually was there. If it simply serves as evidence the place is open it's got value." I would agree with the above comment. I did one review of a small local club that hadn't been reviewed for almost three years, mainly just to show it was still open and there had been no major price or stripper quality changes since the last review. To make that clear, I even titled the review "Still open". I had two people reject that review. I just looked at the local reviews for the fourteen clubs in my city and it appears there hasn't been a single review for a month and a half for all of them put together. I would be happy to see almost any review. The system set up to approve reviews has resulted in few reviews getting written and approved where I live. There needs to be more encouragement, rather than criticism, of those who do make the effort to write a review.

I always use my own judgement when deciding what should or shouldn't be in a review that I submit rather than relying on the judgement of others. I've had all my reviews accepted but have often had one or two people reject the review. I don't get upset when someone questions my judgement on this or anything else because I think I have good judgement and most people don't so, of course, they won't agree with me. As exhibit A for my claim that most people have bad judgement, I would point out that in the last election the majority of voters actually thought Joe Biden, of all people, was the most qualified person in the whole United States to be the president.

A lot of "Asian Indians" in Clubs?
As for the belief that us old white guys don't spend much money, I'm a little skeptical. There has been about the same number of customers overall but a definite decline of the old white guy category here in the Indianapolis clubs and an increase of the younger nonwhite guys who supposedly spend more money. If it is a case that the number of young nonwhite guys who are spending more money is increasing, then clubs should be more profitable and should be able to stay in business. What has actually happened, though, is a third of the local clubs have shut down over the last 12 years, going from 21 to 14. The decrease in the percentage of older white guy customers in the local clubs has coincided with declining profits and more clubs closing. Last Saturday night in a local club was a fairly typical experience. I was the oldest customer in the club I was visiting. I was sitting at the bar next to a pretty blonde who was talking to a young black guy. Suddenly he got up and walked away. I then asked her if she was sitting with someone and if she wasn't would she do lap dances with me. She looked unhappy and then said she thought she was sitting with someone, but he just walked out the door. Then she agreed to go do lap dances with me. She looked quite happy I was there when we got to the back to do the lap dances, and it didn't seem to me like she would have been better off if this old white guy hadn't been there. As I said, this type of thing is typical. Whenever I've suggested to my regulars that maybe I shouldn't go to strip clubs because the girls would rather be with young guys instead of some boring old guy like me, they always look dismayed and assure me they want me to keep coming to see them. They don't appear to me to be eager for me to stop showing up so they can spend more time with guys in the club their own age.

A lot of "Asian Indians" in Clubs?
There seems to be high numbers of Asians, Hispanics and blacks in Indianapolis clubs. The old white guy customer is declining in numbers in local clubs. As an old white guy myself, I feel increasingly out of place sitting in a room with a bunch of young non-white guys. I don't dislike them or feel any hostility to them. I just feel out of place. That is one of the factors leading to reduced club visits for me, along with increased prices due to high inflation and declining stripper quality in local clubs. Stripper quality seems to be declining because the rich old white guy who spends a lot of money on the top girls is a vanishing species in local strip clubs.

Intentional ignoring text games
I have never liked those ambiguous situations where I'm not sure if a female is uninterested or just playing hard to get. That's one reason I like strip clubs. I know almost every stripper is there because she wants to make money and will spend time with me in the club if I will spend money on her. I don't ask for their phone numbers or try to text them or try to arrange seeing them outside the club because there is too much variation in whether they are interested in talking to me or seeing me outside the club. Because of that I spend zero time wondering why they are slow to respond to my text or phone message, since I never call them or text them in the first place.

Anywhere there are Titties.
The A-team Vs the B-eam
I think I could reduce my decision making here to numerical terms. I would rate girls 1 to 10 by physical attractiveness and also 1 to 10 by friendliness. I would then add those two numbers together to get a total score. For example, a girl who is 10 on looks and 6 on friendliness totals 16 and would be lower than a girl who scores 8 on looks and 9 on friendliness for a total of 17. I think I have a floor I won't go below and it would be around 15. If the top girl in the club is 5 on looks and 10 on friendliness, I might accept that but not a 3 on looks and 10 on friendliness. This isn't a rigid system. For example, I've had regulars who dropped a lot in looks but would still always pick them because I liked that long time relationship.

Pool tables in strip clubs.
I like to play pool, but I find pool tables in a club distracting. For me, the focus in a strip club should be on the girls on stage. The clubs with the best girls tend not to have pool tables. It's the clubs with lower quality girls who more often try to distract the customers from noticing that by offering pool tables, drink specials, contests and various other gimmicks.

Dipped into retirement (401 K, IRA, etc) to support your stripper habit?
I kind of knew an economic crisis was coming so I cut my strip club spending in half a couple years ago. I now plan to cut it in half again by just going every other week instead of every week. It's easy to do this because I've been going almost every week for the last 12 years and I'm getting bored with it. Also, all the clubs here in Indianapolis are becoming more ghetto as the middle class flees to the suburbs to get away from increasing crime and a corrupt poorly run city government. Boredom plus declining strip club quality plus inflation eating into my paycheck equals less desire to go to a strip club.

MASK UP!!!!!
The CDC put out a recommendation that travelers wear masks to protect them from monkeypox but then retracted it a couple days later. If I see any strippers eating bananas or picking the lice out of each other's hair, then I'll know they might have monkeypox and avoid them.

Wishful Trend?
The number of jobs increased last month but the number of people in the workforce didn't increase. This doesn't make any sense until you look closer at the statistics. What happened was that more people took a second job to try to make ends meet because their income isn't keeping up with inflation. This would lead to more women trying to get a second job as a stripper. What is likely to happen, though, is at the same time more women want to work at the strip club fewer guys will have the extra money to spend at the strip club.

The Democrats already have enough problems with Joe and Hunter without Jill causing problems for them too. This doesn't seem to be helping Trump, though, as much as I thought it would. One of the side effects of old Joe's obvious mental decline is that more people are starting to think electing elderly people to the presidency is not such a good idea. Trump will be 78 in 2024. This is probably helping DeSantis more than anybody.

Long term dancers (10 plus years) vs former dancers
There are certainly more temptations when it comes to drugs, alcohol or sexual promiscuity in the stripper profession and there is more of a chance to come into contact with dangerous, abusive or criminally inclined males. If someone has addiction problems or problems of being attracted to bad boy types, then being in this profession tends to exacerbate those problems. I've also seen strippers, though, who lead fairly normal lives. The long-time ones seem to have fewer problems. The ones who quickly get fired are the ones who drink too much, take too many drugs, get in fights or hang around with undesirable males. My all-time favorite had a boyfriend who was in and out of jail and he got her fired from her stripper job because he came into her club with a baseball bat and smashed up the car of another stripper who had borrowed money from her and not paid it back. That's not the kind of guy you want as a boyfriend.
