    Musing on Music in Clubs
I thought it looked familiar . . . . duhhhhh. Oh well. I just discovered Pandora but haven't explored the possibilities. I was in Club 76 the other night and a thunderstorm knocked their programmed music out for a few minutes. I like the fact that the programmed set-up plays full songs and a good variety, but there are no breaks between songs at all, so you really have to pay attention to when one ends and another begins.

    Musing on Music in Clubs
I'll venture a comment, but just to let you know, this topic has been done to death, which is why it didn't garner any responses. I have always wanted to program music for dancers. I think your semi-classical suggestions are a bit too far out for most clubs, dancers, and customers, but symphonic rock with female vocals, like Epica, Nightwish, Evenescence, Delain, and others would work nicely. It has the thrusting power of classical, the slow, grinding crunch of metal, and big, catchy hooks like rock. Unfortunately, all the songs are too long for the 3-4 minute strip club norm. I have seen some good stage shows to Skillet's "Hero" and a couple of Flyleaf tunes recently. I heard the classic rock stuff back in the 80s and really find it tiresome at this point. Worse classic rock dance music: all Led Zeppelin; coolest use of classic rock I've ever seen: Pink Floyd's "Pigs" off the Animals album with two girls and ice cubes. Eleven minutes of ecstasy. Whoopie!

    Stupid dance rules.
I just visited a place that offers a choice between $20 topless lap dances (supposedly illegal in Ohio, but commonly available)on open couches and a $15 (2 for 25) nude air dances in little cubicles (no door or curtain and frequently checked. I had done several nude dances with regulars who I only touched in the most passive way and who do not provide much contact in return, as per the rules. I lamented to an unfamiliar girl the inability to get nude with "a wiggle" and low and behold, I received some nice lap action in our $15 session. I got 3 dances and tipped her extra and was pretty pleased. I guess I gotta try more girls and make my desires more clearly known.

Missouri Club Owners Unite to Override New SC Law
I thought we lost the court case. Maybe they filed another one. I think the enforcement is really hit and miss because nobody really wanted the law in the first place except the douchebags in Cincinnati who threatened to put it on a referendum (and wouldn't that have been a doozy--it would have killed the whole industry). I'm not sure the courts are gonna save us; only a repeal will undo it.

Handicapped man sues Tampa strip club
I have seen guys in wheelchairs in SCs over the years and they have been good customers. The girls usually treat them well and it seems like a win for everyone. This is America dammit. A man oughta have a right to get a lap dance, even if he can't feel his lap. The club should quit whining about its right to be stupid and put a fucking ramp in already. Sheesh. Good one voyeur97! Boobies in brail!

You ever feel bad about a new dancer looking sad and rejected because you quickl
Good dancers and good customers eventually connect because they both know how to read people quickly and figure out who they like. It takes a long time to master this skill and we are always learning from our mistakes. I try to be open-minded and give most girls a chance to connect. If it doesn't happen, I might take one inexpensive courtesy dance, but that's it. Asking for a second dance in a row makes most new dancers really happy, so in borderline cases, go for 2 (if its a 2 for 1, go for a third dance--that really tickles them) and see what happens. I always try to be polite and positive (assuming the dancer has been as well) even when I say "no thanks."

    Strippers Protest At Church..
Just a couple of observations from a life-long Ohioan. Historically, the core of anti-adult entertainment movment is based in Hamilton County, where Cincinnati is located. They waged a long war against Larry Flynt and he built the first Hustler club there just to piss them off. They were the dickheads behind the current law that closes adult bookstores at midnight and tries to ban lap dancing. There are always going to be pockets of evengelicals, like the podunk church in this story, that go after adult entertainment in their neighborhoods, but that's not the problem. Ohio voters are sheep. They are easily swayed and will occasionally latch on to amazingly stupid ideas. It's not just Republicans. Thousands of inner city, mostly African-American, dyed-in-the-wool, liberal Democrats voted to ban gay marriage in 2004. What were they thinking? Why did they side with conservatives on this issue? Lots of people don't understand the appeal or value of strip clubs, so if someone condemns them, they blindly get on the bandwagon. Adult entertainment is vulnerable because it's hard for local politicians to stand up for free speech when there's boners and bare titties involved.

In addition to the MD above, I've seen girls graduate with paralegal , law, nursing, and all kinds of undergraduate degrees. I actually was one girl's advisor for her BA in English (she was a great writer but a druggie--too bad). One of my current faves is in a Master's program starting this summer. I can verify that its not just strippers who mistakenly believe they can get certain degrees/jobs from tech and community colleges. Some of those institutions have been misleading potential students for years. I can remember pleading with one dancer not to attend one of those "career" colleges where the degrees are a dime a dozen and credits never transfer. Of course, she didn't listen.

When Steve met Stevie…(Dancers with boy's names and the guys that like them)
Some friends of mine named their only daughter Justin. She is now on the verge on legalness and a smokin' hot little cheerleader pixie. If she were to ever dance . . . (me clutching chest, falling down, making happy gurgling noises . . .) Some other friends had a girl who went by Mikki (short for Michelle) who was working in a San Diego SC as a "waitress" (um . . .right). I'll bet that was her stage name, but I'll be damned if I'm ever gonna ask her. Gracious me - - did I just admit to lusting after my friends' daughters out loud? BAD DOCTOR! BAD BOY!

New record for a champagne room stay?
Even at the lower amount he claims was legit, this is a level of decadence (and reckless stupidity) we can all aspire to. With a genius (and undoubtably an accounting whiz) like this at the helm, I wonder if his electronic firm survived the 7 years since this happened?

True enough TT, but applause don't pay da' bills. If they get decent tips, the trip to to the stage is worth it, whether we clap or not. When you get up from your table and walk to the stage to give her money, you are accomplishing the same thing as applause, except it has tangible value. When it comes down to it, the highest expression of appreciation towards the performers in a SC is CA$H!!!

"Do you know about the new lap dance rules?"
The vigilantes in Ohio tried for the 6 ft. rule and the legislature quietly cut it out of the bill it finally passed, which is essantially a no-touch law. Enforcement in most places has been pretty non-existent, so most clubs that had LD's still do. Air dance clubs like the DMC chain offer no lappers before and still allow very limited one-way touching.

So how many people have Dougster on ignore
He may be a dick, but he's an on-topic poster who has a consistent POV. When he goes off-topic and gets nasty and personal, its a bit much, but lets face it--some threads just wouldn't be the same without his sexist nonsense. It would be a loss of entertainment value to ignore him.

    Pool tables at strip clubs
One of Akron's shithole, high mileage clubs has a pool table right by the door. It is totally out of place and a pain in the ass. On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Diamond Lodge has a whole side room with pool tables and they seem to amuse the younger (and less likely to tip) crowd. I don't play very well and have not played pool in a SC since the 1980's honky-tonk, steel mill, bikini bar days.

    feature dancers? what's the draw?
I'm not a fan of features either. I did catch a decent Miss Nude Something or Other named Tanya Taylor recently. She did a couple of nice sets with the usual "cooter ball" (throw wadded up dollars at a cup near her crotch) and squat-to-pick-up-the fiver games. I drove 45 miniutes to see her nude at one Ohio DMC because the one 10 minutes away has no nudity. A non-nude feature is about as lame as it gets.
