She was overpriced and manipulative; I bet that she's tried this routine with other customers and succeeded. Other than not coming to an agreement prior to the dance, you handled the situation OK.
In most reviews, I do not mention the dancer's stage name if I include any explicit details of our interaction. However, in the case of ROBs, I often mention the dancer's name as a warning to other club patrons and as a "notice" to the dancer that this kind of behavior is not tolerated and will actually hurt the reputation of the club and the dancer.

The defining feature of racism is when different standards of judgment are applied based on race. If the N word is deemed offensive, then all races should refrain from using that word. That standard should not be applied differentially, based on race. As good as Kendrick Lamar is (and his album Damn is excellent!), he too should be held to the same standard regarding the N word as everyone else. If you want to combat racism, then don't be a racist-- that simple.
For the record, I have not used the N word in over three decades.

Never had any issues in Hong Kong and the surrounding streets and clubs (Adelitas). Take a cab to and from the border crossing for $5, stick to the tourist areas around Hong Kong, don't get drunk and obnoxious, and you should have smooth sailing.
However, on one visit, I decided to walk from Avenue Revolution (a popular touristy retail area) to Hong Kong Club (less than a mile). It was the middle of the afternoon so, no big deal. As I was walking a man started walking along side me and offering to "guide me" on my walk to Hong Kong. I politely said no and ignored him, but he persisted in walking with me. After two blocks of walking, a local police car pulls up and three officers approach me. I ask them what I was doing wrong and they told me that I was hanging out with a "known drug dealer." They had me place my hands on the police cruiser and searched my pockets and my wallet. The cop checked the cash in my wallet (about $400 for this particular trip) and I was fully expecting the cop to plant some drugs on me and arrest me. Fortunately, their supervisor (who spoke some English) pulled up and sent the cops on their way and sent me back to Avenue Revolution, where I found a cab for the trip to Hong Kong.
Since that visit, I take a cab and make sure to carry some cash in a location other than my wallet, sometimes a shoe or a travel belt, just to be safe.

It will be interesting to see how the private dance areas have been remodeled. Some of the Penthouse dancers (consistently among the most attractive in Detroit) are working at the Flight Club (near the Detroit airport), where private dance areas are still private. It will be interesting to see if the newly remodeled Penthouse can re-attract dancers and customers.

I agree with Leonard313. It looks like we didn't learn anything from the nation's failed experiment with prohibition. Now we're heading down the same path with prostitution. When it comes to powerful human wants and needs, the best strategy is to legalize it and regulate the business to make it as safe as possible for all parties. Besides, legalization will also generate tax revenue.

I've never clubbed in Miami (its on my list!) so I can't offer a side by side comparison with Detroit. One thing that I can say about Detroit is that it offers a selection of clubs, ranging from high end (Flight Club, Penthouse (when it reopens)), to mid tier (Coliseum, Landing Strip, BT's Dearborn, Cricket, Players) to lower tier (Bogarts, Henry VIII, N and S) establishments. I have not mentioned all of the options. Prices are reasonable and probably lower than Miami. The wild card with Detroit is a recent uptick in law enforcement activities directed at strip clubs (e.g., a few raids to check dance cards and insure that dancers are properly clothed, some LEO action that seems to have resulted in Penthouse shutting down and remodeling it private dance area). To my knowledge, the suburbs have been less affected than clubs within the city of Detroit.

good idea. If you look at the rationale for recommending for or against publication, you might be able to extract some general community guidelines for acceptable (and unacceptable) content for a review.
For me, the review should describe the club, the entertainers and the customer experience in sufficient detail that I would know what to expect. Also, it should NOT link specific dancer names with specific activities that could get the dancer (or the club) in trouble.

This is a bit off topic but I wonder if countries that have legalized and regulated prostitution (i.e., Germany's FKK clubs) have more or less sex trafficking than countries (like the US) that continue to try to criminalize pay for play sex between consenting adults?

I became suspicious when there was no mention of "customer exploitation" among the long list of wrong doings at the clubs.
