    Appropriate "justice" for ROBs
Interesting timing. After posting this discussion thread I encountered a ROB at Bogarts, Inkster Michigan. Here's the relevant section from a longer multi-club review that i posted under Subi's. Final stop Bogarts, well known, extras-friendly dive bar. Of the dozen dancers on duty, 3 or 4 were pretty decent. One of the best features of this visit to Bogarts was a female customer who was tipping the dancers on stage. The dancers would pull the customer's top up and get out her oversized boobs for some fondling. The customer was not especially hot (nice face but too heavy) but the tip rail action was fun to watch. Eventually, I struck up a conversation with Buffy, a 30 something brunette with a nice slender figure and an OK face. Negotiated a trip to the VIP with clear expectations and costs, paid the $10 dollar entry fee (usable for return visits) and started my session. She asked for payment up front saying that she had been scammed on more than one occasion, always a red flag. I gave her half of the agreed upon amount and said the remainder at completion. She started our session but immediately began asking for more money than we had negotiated and reneging on our deal. I decided to stop the session after three lackluster dancers. She threw a tantrum claiming that I was cheating her and asked for more money. I offered an extra $20 but refused to pay any more. This now totaled $70 dollars for three dances. That seemed reasonable to me and well above the advertised dance special on Tuesday ($10 dances). She insisted that we go talk to the manager who would "throw me out of the club." I said, let's go find him. Of course, her explanation was completely inaccurate and full of lies. I stepped in and asked the manager to look in her purse where he'd find a crisp $50 bill that I had paid at the start of the session (she had forgotten to mention that aspect when complaining about the $20 that I had given her at the end of the three dances). Of course Buffy refused to relinquish her purse to the manager for any inspection. He said to her, this drama seems to happen with you nearly every shift, and it only happens with you. Clean up your act or don't come back here to dance again. She stomped off. The manager apologized to me noting that this shady dealing has been a recurring problem with Buffy. Good for the manager (and good for Bogart's for not tolerating ROBs). Note, I was not trying to recoup any money, just to hold her accountable for shady business dealings and threatening customers. Also note, that I am using her stage name (Buffy) in hopes that other future customers will be cautious in negotiating any dances with her. Note to rickdugan-- Man up and do the right thing when you encounter a ROB, including talking to the manager. You don't have to be "whiney" (your words, not mine) when talking with the manager. You aren't trying to get your money returned or to get the manager to correct what has already happened, but you should hold a dancer accountable for being a ROB in a fashion that is meaningful, and her job is meaningful to most dancers. In truth, I don't know if the manager followed through with his threat of firing this dancer, but the message to the dancer was pretty clear. It also helps the club provide high quality entertainment value if they can weed out the ROBs. Besides, you just might save one of your fellow TUSCLers a future ROB experience.

Rickdugan--- you are absolutely right that the conversation could go that way. But add one more line: Manager: I'm going to have to ask you to leave now (adding in his head, "you weird whiny little bitch"). PL: I was on my way out to post a review of your club, the dancer in question and your half assed work as a manager. I'll post the review on every outlet that I can find. I suspect that it will not damage your business too much but if it does, I hope that you'll think of this moment of failed customer service when your club tanks and you get booted from your management job. Besides, I might not be the only customer to have a bad experience with XXX. Maybe only in the movies would it play out like that?-- that's why all the other ROB accountability tactics are suggested. Even if the suggested tactics don't work, short of beheading, it is still important to do something to hold ROBs accountable and warn future victims.

Nicespice: I hadn't considered a Yelp review. It probably reaches more readers that TUSCL and the dancer might actually read the negative review. Good suggestion. For those who are skeptical about informing management of the ROB, it might depend on your approach and whether you are a regular at a club. I've approached a manager and said something like, "I'm assuming that you might be concerned about the reputation of your club and the impact it might have on future business. I thought you might want to know about my experience with XXXXX and take that into consideration with your future employment decisions." Of course, this assumes that the manager is competent enough to be concerned about the club's business and gutsy enough to fire a dancer I --- OK, may be asking too much.

Best ways to clean up between girls
As noted above, carry 3-4 individually wrapped Wet Ones. One wipe for you and one for the dancer (who is often very appreciative of the "clean up" supplies). These wipes are great for clean up but they are not very absorbent, so it is often best to start with a paper towel or napkin and finish off with a wipe. This discussion raises the question--- a few upscale clubs have locker rooms with showers for the dancers (a great selling point). Do any clubs have showers for the customers, or better yet, coed showers for body slides?

3 Clubs That Are MUST VISITS
Mitchell Brothers O'Farrell Theater (mostly for historical perspective), Mons Venus (for eye candy) and Flight Club (for "fun"). Hong Kong would be on my list if it was inside the US; whoops, if HK was inside the US boundaries, it would be ruined by our overly restrictive moralistic laws and regulations. Disclaimer: I've never visited Tootsies, Baby Dolls, Follies as mentioned above.

    Review Metrics
We currently have three rating metrics, one for the club, one for the value and one for the dancers. I don't put much stock in these ratings when I'm researching a club. Nothing substitutes for reading reviews about the club and the dancers. However, I would find a "mileage" rating to be at least as valuable as the other ratings. I acknowledge chessmaster's comment about ymmv but that very same issue also applies to the other ratings that can vary from visit to visit (e.g., ratings of value and dancers will vary between visits to the same club). The only down side to a mileage rating would be if the reviews linked dancer names to very explicit mileage ratings. I would want to protect the identity of dancers who provide exceptional service from management (especially if it was a no extras club and the dancer was pushing the club rules). By the way, I have a policy of not identifying dancers by name if I provide much detail about the level of service in the club. If I do mention a dancer by name, I only provide vague details about the level of fun that was provided, unless the dancer has actually asked me to include details in a review. I do make an exception to this general privacy policy. I will identify ROBs and very poor performers as a service to fellow mongers.

    The future of sex work
I agree with the observation that making an activity (e.g. sex work) illegal typically drives up the costs and it also decreases the safety of the provider and the customer. If prostitution were legalized and regulated in the US, it would be much safer for the provider (I think it would greatly lower human trafficking) and the customer and provide a very reasonable level of income for providers who might not have skills or the work ethic to earn a similar level of income at a "legitimate" job. I see nothing coercive about this arrangement (certainly no more coercive than it is for everyone who works to make a living). People should be able to earn a living in a manner that they choose, as long as doing so does not violate another person's rights.

Tijuana HK club vs Germany FKK club
I've been to TJ but not to a FKK in Germany. A few other comparison dimensions that might be of interest: Safety-- TJ has a reputation for corrupt police and for questionable safety if you walk from the border to the Zona Norte or stray outside of the area around HK and Adelitas. How about the FKK safety issues? Range of sexual activities: Many of the HK girls insist on condoms, including for BJ. How about FKK? Any of the FKK girls provide backdoor action?

    My ramblings about SS
Good perspective, nicespice. The doctor on the popular show, House, had a motto that drove his diagnostice work: "Everyone lies" Sounds like the lying, exaggeration, bravado, deceit have very different goals depending on the audience. The lying with customers is designed to string them along and make more money. The lying with other strippers seems to have two functions-- to enhance status (I made more money than you did) and to avoid censure by your co workers (oh no, I'd never do extras in the club or agree to meet a customer for OTC).

    Detroit - two questions
Most Detroit clubs feature a variety of dancers, often 30-50% of the talent are women of color. If you are seeking a higher concentration of chocolate, you might check out Truth, an 8 Mile Club that seems to be renamed and reopen about once a year, most recently as an AA club. Early Sunday? Not many options other than Bogarts, Henry VIII. To my knowledge, the AA clubs are notorious for late night action rather than morning action.

When did you learn extras could be had ?
About 2005. Someone told me that a Detroit club called Henry VIII S had a reputation for fun. I stopped by one evening and on the way to the men's room I happened to notice the "VIP" room, a series of chairs with 3 or 4 dancers kneeling and servicing their male customers in this open room. The talent was pretty weak so I passed. Shortly thereafter, I discovered Bogart's, sister club for Henry VIII. It had better talent, especially on Tuesdays. It also had an open VIP area, a large room with chairs arrayed around the perimeter. During my first "private" dance, I was amazed to see five girl-customer combinations with the girls either kneeling or bouncing up and down on their partially clothed customers in cow girl or reverse cow girl position. The open VIP has since been replaced by more private booths but Bogarts (and the two Henry VIII clubs) are still both extras-friendly clubs. Of course, I also discovered other Metro Detroit clubs that were more classy.

    Club comments feature
I do agree with Shadowcat that the opportunity to comment on a specific review is a nice feature, especially to endorse, elaborate or disagree with a published review. That said, the club comments might be redundant and unnecessary. For me, I scan the "daily reviews" for any recent reviews of my favorite clubs. I then scan the additions to the Discussion threads, hoping for something other than troll bait. I very seldom go directly to a club's home page where the comments are accumulated (or as others have noted, where zero comments are accumulated).
