I believe you that you may not have meant it that way; but I think that's the way it reads (at least to me) -- you purposely chose to word it that way, instead of "has your stripper ever told you her last name?". Like I said, IME just by being a good regular customer of hers, you'll end up knowing her name 100% of the time. And sometimes, just having your number in her phone is enough for Facebook to tell you her last name (and yours to her, if you have a real facebook account).

Ha, Trollwarnbot signing in from the wrong account.
I've known the last names of every ATF and nearly every CF I've ever had. Keeping in mind that I'm a confirmed one-stripper ATFer, and can easily stick with a stripper for 6 months to multiple years, real names are just something that ends up unavoidable knowing, once you get to the ATF phase ... and especially as they invite me onto their Facebook, etc.
With CFs, sometimes they tell me or just don't hide it; sometimes, because their real number is in my phone, I get their real name because Facebook or some other app puts them in my suggested friends list; sometimes, I get the real name right away because I always run a reverse phone search on their phone numbers.
What I don't do is just ask... either it comes out naturally, or through social media, or through my due-diligence reverse-phone-# search

I sometimes wonder if there's some "it was better in the old days" going on. In SF, it really WAS better in the old days, the combination of DV monopoly plus other local factors has led to far less busy clubs, which I think is directly related to the talent. That said, this comparison is during the peak of SF SCs, around 2000. If I compare today versus, say, 2012, I don't know if there's that much of a difference. Maybe. I dunno.
To the extent that it's not just nostalgia but really true that strippers aren't as pretty, I do think both camming and SA have to have taken some toll. In the case of SA, I think the effect is indirect -- my sense is that the majority of sugarbabies use SA as a side hustle (most babies are making $2000ish/month or less? On the reddit group, the SBs say that if you're making more than $3000/month, you're in the top 10%), whereas stripping is a job in itself. Or, in other words, strippers aren't quitting their jobs to become sugarbabies; instead, as I've run into over and over, they're advertising on SA to supplement their income. Meanwhile, the SBs like Rando's current girl never would have considered stripping in the first place. Or, in other words, as a side hustle, SA isn't competing for the same girls as SCs directly. But SA is competing for the exact same customers. As more customers choose becoming SDs or camming over SCs, SC business goes down, and fewer potential strippers bother.
The current fascination with fat chicks with fat asses has to be having some impact, too

Back when SF had great strip clubs: Mitchell Brothers is not "downtown", but is in the city city (edge of the tenderloin), rather than outskirts. Market Street Cinema and Crazy Horse were both once great in their day, both literally in the heart of the city: mid-Market in the city.

For that matter, Centerfolds has always had potential to be the next MBOT ... and it is not subject to any wacky consent decree, and already has decent-looking girls and booths. Put the place under strong management, with a fee structure that isn't outrageous (which it is, currently), remove the cameras, and I'll assure you, that's where we're all going ... at least those of us PLs who still go to strip clubs, after so many bad SC years.

SJG: Your laser focus on "front room action" is admirable, but IMO mostly your own thing. My interest in front-room kissing a high volume extras girl is 0, gross just thinking about it. Having been part of the local PL community for decades, I don't see any reason to think there'd be a ton of interest in the club you're describing, beyond you. I mean, you're obviously always free to make your suggestion to DV, but clubs that really appealed to aficionados, like MBOT and CH, ran on a completely, totally different model than what you're describing. Even MSC, with a Follies-like "high volume 5s and 6s" model, was merely driven by low priced extras and nothing more, not front room action or anything like that
The formula for a great aficionado's SC is not too hard: attractive girls plus mileage, at a price that is not outrageous (although prices are never low for this combination). Until MBOT imploded after it got hit with the consent decree in 2007, it was not just the best club in the city, but arguably the country ... hell, arguably, ever in the US.
My advice is simple: since DV now owns MBOT, if they are *not* subject to the consent decree anymore, that means they can re-structure the completely outrageous fee structure -- which I'll assure you is the reason we all abandoned that place from 2007 onwards. Decent fees would be enough to get the local aficionado crowd streaming back to it, which will draw hotter strippers, which will draw more local PLs, etc. If they are still subject to the consent decree, I imagine their hands must be tied on the fee structure, and we're just fucked

You guys who are so scared of the strippers that you're using passive aggressive wording instead of being direct and clear, under the misguided notion that being direct is somehow rude: while luckily most girls are not cunts and will just take the hint, you will eventually run into girls who (correctly) view this type of behavior as weakness, and start taking you through the "humiliation interview", either to try to bully you into a dance, or just to make themselves feel better by watching you squirm. Then I suppose you can do more passive aggressive behavior by getting up and going somewhere else, but that's a hell of a way to go through strip clubbing. Things became a lot more enjoyable for me, and the number of negative interactions went down, when I just became direct and clear (while always staying respectful).

For my crowdsourced ratings, which of course you have to go OTC with her so that you can judge the crowd, it's:

I think your ATF has the standard attitude. Most strippers seem to eventually make friends or at least friendly-acquaintances in the club, who will show them the ropes at least a bit. But I doubt your newbie stripper is dumb enough to just randomly ask veteran strippers for help, so I don't think it's a big deal either way.
In general, I tend not to give advice or "mansplain" (eyeroll) things to strippers about the business, unless they specifically ask for advice or feedback. In your position, I keep my advice to something like telling them they're awesome, letting them know that their dance was very low contact versus the standard dance here, and then re-inforcing how awesome they are and how I'm sure they'll pick things right up. Honestly, that's all the hint they need -- if they want to ask details, that's fine (sometimes they get excited about getting gentle constructive feedback), otherwise I'm sure they're smart enough to start watching other dancers do lap dances to see what's what. No need to give specific advice on "Find another dancer to teach you" or whatever, she'll do whatever she's comfortable with
