Who is more important to a strip club? Cash flushed customers or beautiful strip
The way I see it is she was demanding a tip -- unless they are for understood extras -- tips are supposed to be optional. If she gave you a great lap dance (without any extras), a reasonable tip could be expected. But if she gives you a lousy lap dance and still expects a tip, forget it. And if the club is supporting her on this, then they need to make it known that gratuities aren't just appreciated, they're mandatory. Did she even discuss this with you before you got the dances from her? Have other dancers in this club tried to pull the same or similar things on you?

Do you give the time of day or do you dismiss ?
If she starts right off asking if I'd be interested in a dance, I say, "No, thanks, not right now. Maybe later" or I'll let her know that I'm waiting on my drink or some food, if I've ordered some. If she sits down and starts chatting, I'll typically let her chat for a bit, but when the server asks if I want to buy a drink for the lady, I'll decline, unless I'm really enjoying her company. And then there are those more persist dancers. My "No thanks" gets a bit firmer, and it could turn into an outright "No."

    OT: Ebola
Occurious, I think one thing to factor in with the U.S. and Europe as opposed to the African countries is mobility. People of the first-world countries travel a lot more and a lot further than those in third-world countries, which could increase the chances of widespread outbreaks a lot more. The incubation time for the virus and the amount of time it's contagious would also play a large factor in that. Gatorfan, Zombie Strippers -- fun and silly movie. Highly recommended!

    Call me Jerikson Jr.
GACA, honestly, I really don't think there is any definitive answer to what you're asking. Sorry. I do look at sites like this as a sort of "Consumer Reports" of strip clubs. It gives me an idea of what clubs to look for (and to look out for), as well as, in some cases, which dancers to avoid. It also gives me an idea on just what I can and should budget for some clubs (yeah, a pretty lofty goal for a guy who has problems saying "No" to attractive, potentially naked women); guess that's really where the "what to look out for" comes in). These discussions and some of the reviews also give me idea on what to say and how to act around (or what not to say and how not to act) around some dancers, which is probably where part of that "Dr. Phil" stuff might be coming in. As for who the clubs are for, well, to me, they're for anybody. The big thing is matching the target demographic (us) with the appropriate club. Me, I'm a pauper ($20K a year is always a hopeful goal, though one I don't reach too often) and I prefer dressing pretty casually -- not business casual but hang-out-around-the-house casual. Obviously, I'm not going to go for those ritzier clubs where it's $50+ bucks to get in, $20 for a Coke, and another $20 just to say hi to a dancer. I'm going to go for clubs that are more targeted to my level, my demographic -- those clubs that are more blue collar, with dancers I consider more grounded and prices that are more in my budget. Guys who make that $350K, who can afford to go to the clubs 3+ times a week, clubs that do charge that $50+ cover, they're in a completely different demographic. But, for the most part, we're all in it for (pretty much) the same reasons: we enjoy beautiful women. We enjoy watching them, we enjoy talking with them, and we enjoy the more tactile sensations. There can and there will be some additional reasons, conscious and subconscious, for going to the clubs. It could be feeling like part of the pack when a bunch of guys go. It could be low self-esteem and that gets bolstered when interacting with some of the ladies. It could be one of those comfortable places to hide from the rest of the world, a place you know no one will think of looking for you at. It could be a guy develops some actual friendships (or maybe just a really good illusion of friendships) at the club. It could be a power/status thing. It could be a place where a guy feels like he can let his guard down and blow off some steam (in socially acceptable way, c'mon now). It could be any of a myriad of reasons, any and all of which can be right and wrong, depending on the guy. I wish I could offer you a definitive answer, but I really don't think there is just one answer. Hope this helps.

    Dancer's annual income
Have to agree that some dancers are damn smart about their money. One dancer I met in Dallas back in the '90s, she said that at one point, she had something like $200,000 in the bank -- until her loser husband drained it all and ran off. But at the time I met her, she said she was back up to about $100,000 and she owned six rental properties in the area. Definite kudos to her.

They could also work with dancers named "Class A" and "Class E." Hmmm. Starting to think a whole cop-themed strip joint could be opened up. Maybe call it "5-0H!" or "The Slammer." Course, I don't think the actual police would appreciate it too much.

Ever have a dancer forget about this?
A dancer in Indianapolis forgot to collect after we had finished some lap dances. I had to hit the ATM for some extra cash, but when I got back to the table, she was gone. I looked for her around the club, eventually found her sitting with some other folks, yammering away, and gave her the cash. (Yeah, I'm one of those pathetically overly honest people. I hate feeling like I've ripped someone off.) A few minutes later, she wasn't just at my table -- she was on my lap.

    Dancer's annual income
One ATF back in the mid-90s said she reported that she made $140k -- and I think I saw her at the club maybe only about six months that year. After close at that same club, I asked another if she had a good night. She shrugged nonchalantly. "About $600."

What's the worst news a stripper ever told you?
Probably the most funny thing: It was a week before a masseuse's wedding. She was telling me all of her woes and stresses (yeah, like I really wanted to feel her stress when I'm supposed to be relaxing). One of those stresses: "I don't think my fiancé trusts me." Never mind that she was giving me a handjob at that moment.

    Dating
I haven't really dated any strippers recently; did OTC and ITC with a couple different dancers, but haven't had any real social interactions outside of the club with them. But back in the '90s, I did go out with a couple of dancers. (Hey, they were roommates. They were joined at the hip.) I had hung out at the club quite a bit -- too much, given my lack of income -- so a few of the dancers saw me as "safe" (and, yeah, probably even "sucker" by some). Anyway, one time, one of that pair waved me over to a side stage she was dancing on; she asked me if I wanted to go out to dinner with her, her roommate, and one of the guys who worked at the club. It caught me off guard, but I had to decline. I already had plans. (Hey, tickets to a live MST3K weren't cheap, and there was only the one show!) A month or two later, the two ladies and I (and one of my roommates) caught a movie. We met there. Each of us paid our own way. It was just platonic...or maybe a trial run; I was never too sure. The next time I was at the club, I tipped one of them stage-side (yeah, the one I was really interested in). She said that we should go to another movie, this time by ourselves. That really caught me off-guard because she said that we shouldn't ever talk about going out in front of people she worked with -- but another dancer was maybe five feet off to one side and a server was within arm's reach of me. (Yeah, we didn't wind up going out.) And then the next time I saw her, she told me that I didn't want to date her. Um...huh? A couple other dancers -- a couple of my regulars -- also stopped by the retail bookstore I worked at, too. They just wanted to say hi and visit. Nothing came of those visits though (doggone it all anyway). Different women are going to have different tastes and different levels of expectations. And dancers will probably have yet a different set of expectations, depending on their level of guardedness and suspicion. Nuts, your average civilian woman is pretty much going to expect a guy to look for sex, in addition to some conversation and quality time and whatever else; a dancer will probably expect that you'll be looking for nothing but sex from her. If you want a relationship, you'll probably have to give her time to size you up. Anyhow, long story short, good luck.
