Dead guy still on the ballot. What if he wins?
A dead guy (Governor Carnahan) actually won the Missouri Senate race vs. Sen. John Ashcroft in 2000. He was killed in a plane crash while campaigning, and the party pledged to seat his wife if he won the contest. Net, we had Sen. Jean Carnahan, (D-MO).

Thanks for the update, Breezy. I've had good times att Club Venus in the past. Now that the skeezy motel next door has been demolished I will feel safer pulling into the parking lot. Good luck to you and the club.

    Upscale Clubs in Atlanta?
The Cheetah is your best bet. Good service, excellent food, attractive women, laid-back day-shift atmosphere. Post-lawsuit (it's a long story), milage is very limited--air dances on the floor, and not much more than air in VIP.

+1 on Shailynn's recommendation of the Henry. Now part of Marriott's Autograph Collection, it's one of the nicest places I've stayed (in 40 years of business travel) and located near many of the "attractions."

Thanks for the update, Bree1989. Guys, cut her a little slack. She reads the board and responds politely to PMs. We missed connections at Cricket, but she's still on my list of TUSCL people to meet.

    Best stripclub name
For me, Chix on Dix (located on Detroit's Dix Avenue) was the best name, by far. Sadly, the club was "rescued" by Jon Taffer's Bar Rescue show, changed its name, and closed soon after. High on the list of best names for imaginary clubs is the Eager Beaver, from Carl Hiassen's novel, "Striptease."

Using strip clubs as waiting areas.
I once had a windshield replaced and waited at a strip club--the Hangar Club in Maryland. Better than hanging around the shop; me, a bartender, two dancers, and enough cold beer to pass the time.

The Landing Strip Lounge worth the visit?
I've been traveling to Detroit for ~25 years, and have visited the Landing Strip whenever I have had the chance. In recent years it's been hit or miss, but on balance I have had good times there. Valet parking is more or less mandatory ($7), no cover before 7:00, and overall a reasonably friendly crew of dancers, most in the 6-8 range. I have only struck out two or three times over the years; the other visits were meh to memorable.

    Ohio Cin ? Clubs ?
Hamilton County (Cincinnati) has zero options--for years, Sheriff Simon Leis campaigned on being the guy who busted Larry Flynt in Newport, KY, just across the Ohio River and once known as "Little Las Vegas" (many, many years ago). The Harem in Dayton is an hour's drive North on I-75; the clubs in Covington and Newport are beyond sad. Read the reviews. Concepts in Lawrenceburg, IN (not as far as it sounds) is probably a decent option. Hit the casinos while you're there.

Key Detriot Clubs from low end to high end
There is variation by time of day--check the reviews. For instance, Legends is fantastic at night, but empty in the early afternoon. On 8 Mile, Coliseum and Players have solid day shifts; Penthouse is great night and day. Cricket, Henry the VIII, and Bogarts are close together and none have a parking fee/valet, so it's possible to go in, look around and, if needed, move on to the next club with relative ease.

There have been a number of mass migrations between Asia and Mexico/Central America/South America in the past 500 years (the era of ocean navigation). In the 18th Century, the economy was bad in Japan but good in Peru, and about a million people migrated--thus, it's no surprise that a 20th Century native born President of Peru is named after Mt. Fuji.

Sleaziest Club you have ever been in
Many years ago, the Newport/Covington KY clubs were exemplars of nastiness. The Brass A$$ in Newport had the scariest Men's room, compounded by the fact that the stall frequently used by "dancers" for HJ/BJ action. Glad I made it out without an infection.

Thanks for the rundown. Your experiences square with mine from 8-10 months back. I second Papi's motion about an article covering several Houston clubs. It would be a good addition to the board.

Following Papi's insight, as long as your expectations are calibrated (no contact, no VIP) both Archibald's and Camelot would be good options for a small, quiet bachelor experience. First, they are in the relatively safe NW Washington, DC. Second, they both offer a fairly consistent lineup of attractive dancers. Third, the clubs are expensive but not "clip joints." The Baltimore Block has its "charms," but unless you have a sense of adventure and are up to date on immunizations, I'd recommend the upmarket DC clubs.

Don't have any recent experience in Columbus, but in Dayton I like the Harem. Sometimes it feels like the "inmates are running the asylum," but I have always had a good time there.

They do things differently in Canada. :)
farmerart--re your question about DC, Archibald's is less than three blocks from the White House. Our politicos are just as corrupt, but there's not much action to be had at DC clubs.
