The issue appears to be that, when networks made the switch from one hour of news per day every evening, to 24-hour "news" all the time, the quality of that news dropped because editorial oversight went down, and the bar for what is considered newsworthy dropped to near National Enquirer levels. I could go on, but I won't.

If you can speak during DFK, I believe you're doing it wrong.
