    Pity Dance
Related to the subject at hand: I prefer the term "sympathy dance" to "pity dance."

I've met six, either in L.A. or Las Vegas clubs. They were all house dancers at the clubs where I Met them. These were dancers that were mostly active in the 1990's. One was earlier, and maybe some into the early '00's: 1. DONITA DUNES http://www.boobpedia.com/boobs/Donita_Dunes Met at Deja Vu, North Hollywood, 2001, and Cheetah's, San Diego, 2003 2. EUROPE DICHAN http://www.boobpedia.com/boobs/Europe_DiChan Met at Cheetahs, Las Vegas 2004. I believe she's still there. 3. KARA NOX http://www.boobpedia.com/boobs/Kara_Nox Met at Blue Zebra, North Hollywood 2004. She lived in the same area I did at the time. She was always afraid I'd see her riding her bike around town. She also tried working at legal brothel outside of Las Vegas, but also said she didn't do well there. 4. LETHA WEAPONS http://www.boobpedia.com/boobs/Letha_Weapons Met at what is now Bare Elegance, Van Nuys, 1996.) Note the excerpt from her "career" section: "She also made an appearance on the television series Married... with Children, as a dancer named Rocki Mountains in the Jiggly Room. " 5. LOGAN LABRENT http://www.boobpedia.com/boobs/Logan_LaBrent Met at Spearmint Rhino, Van Nuys, 2001) 6. NIKKI KING http://www.boobpedia.com/boobs/Nikki_King Met at the Candy Cat I, Canoga Park, 1980's)

Feature Dancers, whats up with that?
She was in Seattle within the past year. I didn't go to see her, but there was a lot of publicity on her. If you're considering seeing her, check the following: http://www.boobpedia.com/boobs/Alexis_Texas (several links to her work) http://www.streamate.com/cam/Alexis_Texas/ I'm with Motor on the subject of going to see the feature dancers. I just want the regular house dancers that I can return and see any time if I like them.

Dancer banter and other skills to learn in SCs
Great comment to ponder: I think I've benefitted from improved negotiation skills. I know now how to specify exactly what I want and expect in return with dancers and others outside of my club-going world. I also have a better sense of what to anticipate from others in negotiations. It's given me a higher level of self confidence than I had previously.

Keep it in my pants when I do OTC. If I were a stripper it would stand for I like big bucks and I can not lie.
    Proposed New Acronym: ATFSF
Too confusing with ATSF: Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe (for us railroad buffs).

    What? No massage parlor?
Lotsa luck getting any of those changes mentioned in the last paragraph. Especially that of making the dancers "employees." That's been bandied about since the "independent contractor" status for strippers became common. Do any of our San Fernando Valley members have experience with this club? I went there just once, I recall, from when I clubbed in the SFV. That was before I discovered COI (heh, heh).

Social Security Checks and Strip Club Trips
It's too difficult to assess your question. The first of the month is a busy day for a lot of businesses who have customers that receive social security, welfare payments, etc. I know a local (cheap) supermarket chain has actively campaigned for staggering the date that welfare recipients are mailed their checks, because it can't handle all the business it gets on the first of the month.

What's The Closest Drive To A Strip Club
16 miles and a 25-minute drive. I used to be like lopaw, only closer. From where I live now, the closest club used to be 1.8 miles away. (It was subsequently closed and the building demolished.) When I first moved here, I joked with some of the dancers that lived in my direction: "If you want to make sure I come in to see you, pick me up on your way in. I can always walk home if I need to." Of all the dancers I did OTC with, the greatest number came from that club. Many would just leave early if it was slow and come over to my house.

    San Diego clubs
A little closer than COI are the two clubs in Anaheim: Flamingo (also a.k.a. "The Dirty Bird") and nearby Sahara. Both get high marks for their mileage, but low in the looks dept.

    San Diego clubs
You appear to be from Detroit and perhaps visiting San Diego soon. San Diego clubs are famous for low mileage. It's a 90-minute drive to the city of Industry (COI) clubs. Try there as well.

How do I know when one dance is over?
I've been clubbing for 20 years, and I still, occasionally, have the same problem, of not knowing when a song is over. (Maybe distracted with a pair of monster natural boobs in front of me does that.) Generally, listen for the d.j's. voice. When he starts to talk, then the song is usually over. The honest dancers will tell you when a song is over, and ask if you want another. It is best to tell a dancer ahead of time how many dances you want, or to tell her you want her to let you know when the song is finished. Even if you only want one song, to start with, ask her to tell you when that one song has finished.

    Crazy Stripper's Mom
Not nearly as dramatic, but a little different twist to the same situation. When I lived in L.A. (2004), I knew a dancer that went to Toledo, OH to dance at Scarlett's for a few months with friends there. The few months turned into about a year. After her father found out, he flew to Toledo (didn't actually go into the club), but "took his daughter home" with him. Then he bought her a house in Phoenix, AZ. He paid the down payment, but it was up to her to pay the mortgage. The arrangement was that if she ever returned to stripping, he'd take the house away from her. She never danced again.

@ GMD: I'm just about like you, except I have less than 30 yrs. experience. @ Jack, and Motor: I concur. @ London: Even though I solo, I will chat with other customers in the club. Especially if they just got dances with a dancer I know or another I'd like to know about.

What kind of goofy things have you heard dancers tell you or ask you?
@ Clubber: I know a few dancers who've actually mentioned making the quarterly payments, and without asking for my assistance. One was a bit unusual. She said that she always filed a tax return every year. Since she owned her home, she thought she might get caught if she didn't, but she went on to add that she never declares more than $50,000. in a year. So she files, but cheats some, anyway.

    HR & Management Meetings
I'm with Shadow. I have heard of "all-club meetings" (with of all of the employees--dancers, d.js., waitresses, bouncers, managers, etc.). One agenda item was to discuss "toning-down-the-extras-because-the-cops-are-on-to-us." And, on occasion in those types of meetings you might find that the strip club world bears (pun intended) some resemblance to the real world.
