To say the man was "full of crap" at the time would not be hyperbole in this case. A Darwin award nominee for sure.

Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
@minnow. If I recall, the original "go back, its a blowjob" line was from Woody Allen's 1973 "Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask." I think Tony Randall, playing the operator relaying signals from the brain to the sperm, said the line.

Just saw local (Cleveland) news coverage of this. Girls went topless (maybe pasties, couldn't see through the blur) and there were no arrests. Owner came off as reasonable; pastor was a self-important dick. Film at 11.

Some great ones here. Not surprisingly, the TUSCL crowd has pretty good taste. I would add a couple I haven't seen mentioned yet:
Mel Brooks "History of the World" only because it was such a clever homage to vaudeville (the "playing Caesar's Palace" line was a hoot). As already noted, his funniest was "Young Frankenstein" (the scene where the monster lights his thumb instead of the cigar still kills me.)
I enjoy "Kelly's Heroes" every time I watch it. Eastwood, Telly Savalas, Don Rickles, Carroll O'Conner, and Donald "its a mother beautiful bridge" Sutherland as "Oddball." Outstanding.
Bill Murray playing Hunter S. Thompson in "Where the Buffalo Roam" was pretty funny as well.
Dr. Strangelove is brilliant, as is "The Mouse that Roared" with Sellers again in multiple rolls. Best Pink Panther was the one where both Chief Inspector Dreyfus and Kato were trying to kill him.
Last but not least, the Marx Brothers "Duck Soup" is chock full of silly shit that is still funny after 80 years.

"Trip the Darkness" by Lacuna Coil.
"Who?" they ask.
"Oh, I'm sorry, its an internationally famous ROCK band," I reply.
"Where they from?" comes the response.
"Italy."
"Oh, that explains why I've never heard of them" says the 19 year old dancer.
"Yep" I say, "that explains it."

He and his mentor Jonathan Winters were masters of improvisational "riffing" on any subject using a variety of voices and characters. They were at their best in live surroundings--late night talk shows were perfect--where they could use the audience, props, or just about anything to get laughs. It didn't always work, but when it did, it resulted in many "laugh till you puke" moments. RIP funny man.

I have gotten some pretty good dances from shot girls, who are sometimes waitresses and sometimes dancers. I think the fantasy is to get the bartender or waitress who "doesn't dance" to do the deed as something special. Still waiting on that one.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Russian porn. The girls are young and pretty, but the guys look like the villain's henchmen from a Bond movie and nobody ever says anything. They just moan and grunt.

I would agree that there has been a decline It seems that the bad economy hurt the upscale clubs in smaller cities (like Christie's in Canton, Ohio) where they had expanded during the boom times prior to 2008. The lack of high rollers most likely cut into the high caliber dancer pool in those places, as many girls went elsewhere. Bigger cities with convention centers, legal casinos (except for Ohio, which stupidly restricted strip clubs THEN legalized casino gambling)may still be able to support quality dancers, but at an exorbitant cost (and without the high mileage). Lots of little independent places are still doing OK (if the laws allow), but as noted, aren't drawing the hot new talent. The webcam thing got hot fast and may have attracted both talent and customers for a while, but as one who still visits webcam sites (as well as strip clubs), I can tell you that the fire as dimmed in that market as well. Too many performers and too many non-paying moochers makes for lots of cam-girl discontent (as seen in the complaints on those Stripperweb posts). The only advantage to the webcam is a lack of a LE threat, though some sites now suspend performers who violate their performance rules. Ultimately,if you have a good regular club (or camgirl for that matter) that still delivers quality at the decent price, consider yourself fortunate and take advantage of it before things change again.

A number of years ago I witnessed the long descent of a fairly decent dancer into oxycodone hell. She was at my regular club dancing on the low stage in what was clearly a drug induced haze and going way beyond what was normally allowed. She flashed, let guys finger her, and did as much as she could just out of sight of the bouncers. We were all encouraging her excesses and tipping her well. At one point, she offered OTC for a fairly small amount to anyone who approached her. When the debauchery was over, I noticed one of the regular dancers, who I really liked, watching from the wings. She noted my extra generous tips and said "so you liked that, did you?" Busted, I admitted I had and as a self-imposed penance, began tipping this dancer a bit extra when I saw her on stage. She is still dancing and I still tip her a bit more, although we never spoke of that night again. The stoned girl in question disappeared shortly after, a mere shadow of her former self.

I am a 55 year old professor who occasionally introduces his 23 year old companion as his "protege" in certain situations. Of course, nobody is remotely fooled by that, but its fun to mess with 'em.

I have always felt that there needs to be a comprehensive history of the strip club phenomenon since it grew out of burlesque sometime in the 1970s. This book is clearly not it, but might be a good place to start the research. I really ought to quit writing about the Civil War and become a stripper historian. What good is a freakin PhD if you can't research fun stuff? Hmmm. Maybe I can apply for a $10,000 research grant in $1 bills . . ..

They did a story on NPR about fast food places like Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, and Carl's Jr. marketing to stoners and other partiers by touting late night hours and "4th meal" munchies. The reporter concluded that since McD's is more a family place, that they would avoid such promotions, in spite of the obvious purpose of late night drive thru hours.

The male narcissism and total gayness of male strippers (in spite of all the pussy they are around) is such a monumental turn-off that I am not sure we could adapt to it even if we wanted. The movie will be a bomb along with the new Adam Sandler abortion, "That's my Boy."

I cannot hear Bob Seger's "Love to Watch Her Strut" without flashing back to my first strip club experiences in the early 1980s. Way back when, I made a mix tape once for a dancer that had Styx's "Ballerina" (from the Crystal Ball album) on it. She brought down the house with it. If you like hard rock, Scorpions' "The Zoo" and Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" also kick ass on stage. I recently got a nice long lap dance to Golden Earring's "Radar Love."

Our semester here at an NE Ohio university is ending this week so tragically I will miss the joys of hot weather fashion on campus. I plan to protest to the administration on behalf of lecherous professors everywhere.
