He/Him - He’s a filthy pig. That’s him in VIP with another whore.
The Victoria’s Secret fashion show - any interest?
I like slender women, any skin color is OK. Beautiful women, ridiculous costumes and an air of pretension that is ludicrous. The commentary from the models is silly (walking down a run way cannot be that challenging and exciting) but then again they weren't hired for their intellect and commitment to social issues.

If she walks away smiling, you spent too much.
"So what brings you in tonight?"
I use the same answer as Papi Chulo--- "I like naked women; is that OK?" I can't tell you how many times the stripper has replied either, "that's a good answer, you in the right place, want to see?" or "I do too" and that started a good conversation and often times an even better short term relationship.

First Time Auditioning...HELP! What to expect?
I agree with Sirdancealot. If you can be flirty, sensuous and sexy on stage and take that skill set to the private dance area also, then you'll do just fine. Certainly, some experience with a "swinger" lifestyle suggests that you are comfortable with sex and with being sexy; that's half the battle for many women. Like others, I also recommend that you go to several strip clubs as a customer (ideally with a group or a male "date"). You might even read some of the reviews posted on here to get a customer's perspective about the nature of each club. If you visit a club, notice that some of the dancers are really good performers on the pole and on stage. Most of them have a relatively small number of "moves" that they string together and repeat that sequence in various stages of undress-- this is not sophisticated choreography. You can gradually work on your routine as you dance. The major issue for an audition is that you need to move rhythmically with the music and be comfortable with whatever level of nudity is required on stage. And, be flirty and sexy, of course. Also, spend a bit of time researching the club. Some of the clubs are dance only clubs, whereas other are "extras" clubs where sexual contact in the VIP is tolerated but not officially and openly promoted. This is one of those areas where the dancer can set her own limitations, as long as the club is tolerant. Given your history, be sure to be smart about whatever sexual contact you decide is acceptable; you don't need any more arrests on your record. Strip clubs are often subject ot law enforcement raids, often focuses on any drugs in the club but more rarely on prostitution. You might check with the other dancers and maybe with the more trustworthy customers about any risks or reports of law enforcement busts in your club or area. Of course, the better private dances you provide, the more repeat business and money you'll make. Think of it like breaking the speed limit on the interstate-- you need to be selective about when and where you push the limits and don't break more than one law at a time (e.g., don't be using drugs at the same time that you're pushing a different law, be in on the interstate or in the club). Have fun and report back. This is a national, and international, forum so you might even recruit a few customers from your area who happen to read TUSCL. If nothing else, if you can sift through the BS, political posts and personal joisting between some fo the members, you can glean some pretty interesting perspectives on the strip club industry and its customers. If taken the right way, this can certainly help you succeed in your new profession. Oh, one final thing, know when to hang it up. It sounds like you have a trust fund so don't squander that cushion. It will allow you to walk away when you get too old to dance or when the hassles of the job get too high for the payoff or when you discover something else (a social cause, a significant other, wanting a family) that takes you away from stripping. In the meantime, have fun! You're only young once.

Too much of a good thing is never enough
Men behaving badly: The never ending story
Good point Shadowcat. It does raise concerns about the motivation for going public for a transgression that supposedly happened more than a decade earlier. Your hypothesis is perfectly reasonable-- no big deal at the time and there may be some potential for financial damages for coming forward at this time. But there is one other hypothesis to consider. -- in the past some women may have been dismissed, bought out or threatened for coming forward with a complaint and failed to report even egregious behavior. Of course, the support and tolerance for women coming forward with complaints may have changed, but there are exceptions (see the reaction to the women who accused Tariq Ramadan of improprieties). It will be interesting to see what kind of "evidence" can be presented to support some of these accusations. I tend to fall on the "innocent until proven guilty" end of the justice spectrum but when you get multiple independent accounts of a recurring pattern of behavior, it certainly adds credence to accusations that would otherwise be no more than "he said, she said."

Too much of a good thing is never enough
Men behaving badly: The never ending story
How does anyone see this discussion topic as an opportunity for a rant or even a commentary about conservative versus liberal ideology? Men behaving badly does not break down by political party affiliations (or even religion-- Roy Moore professes to be conservative christian; Tariq Ramadan is an Islamic theologist). No wonder we can't solve any problems; we can't even see the problems for the polarizing political trees!

    Detroit News!
If not mistaken, this facility opened as "Scores" and featured dancers that were a mix of black, white and different ethnicities. They had difficulty obtaining a cadre of attractive dancers and the number of customers dwindled after the "check out the new place" curiosity died out. I wonder if a new owner/manager will be able to supply quality entertainment to compete with Penthouse and Coliseum? Also, if they can't match the private VIP set up in the other metro Detroit clubs, I would not predict a successful relaunch of this facility. Nevertheless, I wish them success; options and competition are usually a good thing for customers.

Here goes nothing... reply to a frequent question
BHO: It can be both ways, of course. My only point was that there is nothing about feminism with its emphasis on women's rights that should automatically result in opposition to legalized prostitution and legalized (and safe) sex work for women. Women should have the right to do what they want with their bodies and to make a living in nearly any manner that they want. Of course, many feminists, (and democrats, republicans, marxists, atheists, and maybe even some civil libertarians) oppose legalized sex work but often because of an overlay of religious morality that happens to coincide with their other political labels.

Here goes nothing... reply to a frequent question
I appreciate the perspective that feminism is compatible with supporting women's rights, including the right to expose your body or to sell sexual services if you elect to do so and you do so in a venue that does not imperil others (and notice that most strip clubs have no windows-- not much chance of offending the innocent passerby). Sometimes feminism gets inappropriately blamed for repressive sexual laws and policies. I think that the religious zealots (some of whom happen to be feminists) are to blame for repressive sexual laws in an effort to force others to comply with their own sense of morality.

OTC in the club parking lot?
Johnnyboy: No offense taken. When a sentence lists three things as contributing factors ("extra time, hotel expense and sometimes the safety issues"), it doesn't mean that one of those factors is the sole cause. I can afford a hotel room but I'd prefer to invest my funds in the dancers, and only secondarily in the hotel establishment. More importantly, I don't always have the extra time to make and act on hotel arrangements. As to why a dancer might invest in an RV or camper--- two obvious reasons: 1) some dancers, especially feature dancers, travel from city to city for their trade and 2) if you're selling a service (and OTC is a service) then it makes sense to look for ways to market those services-- offering convenient OTC in your well appointed camper or RV in a safe location (for both the dancer and customer) might make sense. Again, this was just a discussion topic, not a treatise on how the industry should operate. This topic was inspired by two observations: 1) a report from an acquaintance of an OTC session in a travel trailer in the club parking lot and 2) the observation of limos parked in strip club parking lots that I suspect were being used for OTC, although probably hired by patrons, not dancers.

    DTW thoughts
Dancers come and dancers go. And schedules are ever fluid (or non-existent). So there are no guarantees of talent at any of the clubs. That said, the clubs near DTW are: blue collar clubs: Bogarts and Henry VIII North mid tier clubs: Cricket and Landing Strip high end clubs: Flight Club (which has greatly improved its reputation for talent). Have fun and post a review.

lady to entertainer... flipping the switch.
The process that you describe reminds me of stages of change theory, which is most often applied to addiction recovery. But it might also apply to any personal change in behavior, including the decisions to become a stripper, to dance nude, to do extras, etc. Here are the stages from a google search of "stages of change": "individuals move through a series of stages—precontemplation (PC), contemplation (C), preparation (PR), action (A), and maintenance (M)—in the adoption of healthy behaviors or cessation of unhealthy ones (Prochaska & Velicer, 1997)" The equally interesting issue is what factors move a person from one stage to another, sometimes economic issues, sometimes pre-existing or changing beliefs, sometimes knowing someone who tried out a new behavior, sometimes sampling the new behavior and having a good or bad experience, etc.

    Worst Commercially Successful Band Ever?
I nominate the Turtles, a late 1960s band, known for their terrible lyrics, as illustrated by the chorus from one of their hits, Elenore: Elenore gee I think you're swell And you really do me well You're my pride and joy et cetera Elenore can I take the time To ask you to speak your mind Tell me that you love me better While speaking of awful lyrics, I would also nominate The National-- even a rich bass voice and good orchestration can't overcome their lyrics. See lyrics from Terrible Love on the High Violet album. It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders It's a terrible love and I'm walking in It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders It's a terrible love and I'm walking in This quiet company This quiet company It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders It's a terrible love and I'm walking in It's a terrible love and I'm walking with spiders It's a terrible love and I'm walking in This quiet company This quiet company This quiet company

Halloween: Passing Out Candy or Doing the PL Thing?
Why is the "or" in the title of this thread? It is possible to Pass out candy AND do the PL thing. Two strategies--- take candy to your favorite strip club-- it can be more effective than dollars in attracting dancers to your table. Inspired by Doces300, establish an "under age" trick or treat time limit-- say 9PM-- that features candy. Then establish an "age of consent" trick or treat time zone, 9PM or later, where you can pass out condoms and alcohol to the slutty trick or treaters.

    San Antonio long weekend
If I recall correctly, there was some sort of LE crackdown on the San Antonio clubs about 4 or 5 years ago. I seem to recall dancers being ticketed for showing butt cracks. I don't know if the clubs ever recovered. I was there shortly after the LE crackdown and I was not impressed with Sugars. SA Men's Club seemed to have some potential for private dances. Austin is within driving distance and their clubs get pretty good reviews. Hopefully, a local will chime in with some guidance.

Not a fan of boob jobs! My favorite photo was the advertisement from Christie's Cabaret-- Now hiring, all positions. The Teachers
Most of my SC teaching experience has focused on neophyte dancers, especially those who are attractive but don't yet have the experience or the game to make a living in the strip club scene. In some cases, it is a dancer's first experience working in a SC and they want to know how this particular club compares to alternative clubs. In some cases, I offer some advice on "sales techniques," including how to give a proper strip club handshake. However, my favorite teacher role is giving pointers on how to give a lap dance or beyond. Never thought about being a house mom (LOL, PoolyD), but a dirty uncle would be a good role. We need a bumper sticker that says something like "Making a living as a stripper? Thank your teachers (and all the horny men)."
