Detroit News!

I was at my favorite club a few weeks ago (just check my reviews) and I was sitting with one a beautiful Romanian vixen. She informed me that Silver Rain/Scores has been closed and bought by the owners of Pantheon. However it won't be a black club specifically it'll be a mixed club similar to PHC, FC, and Coli. They're currently in the process of remodeling it and the club will be called TRUTH. She informed me that she'll be taking her talents there when it opens.

I'm interested to see how the King of Strip responds with new competition on 8mile. FWIW Coli and PHC undisputedly rule 8mile and with FC resurgence he runs the DTW area. I've also heard not so great things from dancers about Legends (read a review and you'll know why they don't like it). From their perspective it's more of a party after a sporting event club and guys don't really spend money and they don't have regulars.

So like I said I'm eager for this club to open to see how it stacks up to the competition and how the King reponds. Plus the VIP setup will be interesting to see how it's setup

Hmmm I hopped in there around a year ago and was shocked at how nice the talent looked. I was completely ignored and when I saw the VIP was completely open, I said “eh I probably won’t be back considering what other great options are literally down the street.” - it’s a shame because in my visit they had a lot of hot girls working. Hopefully new ownership will open the door to get another option in the 8 Mile area.

I would be surprised if any new clubs open within the Detroit city limits and have a private VIP. The past few years, several clubs had been forced to remove their curtains or shut down.

Some clubs got renovated and when they re-opened, the curtains were gone. The lone exception seems to be Players, which does have a semi-private VIP, but I would be surprised if they originally planned on the strands of beads in place of curtains. I would think that they did not get approval to re-open with curtains, but were somehow allowed to have the strands of beads.

As long as Penthouse and Coliseum continue to have curtains in their VIP, they will rule 8 Mile.

If not mistaken, this facility opened as "Scores" and featured dancers that were a mix of black, white and different ethnicities. They had difficulty obtaining a cadre of attractive dancers and the number of customers dwindled after the "check out the new place" curiosity died out.

I wonder if a new owner/manager will be able to supply quality entertainment to compete with Penthouse and Coliseum? Also, if they can't match the private VIP set up in the other metro Detroit clubs, I would not predict a successful relaunch of this facility. Nevertheless, I wish them success; options and competition are usually a good thing for customers.

I'll go there when it opens and check it out. I always like new clubs, well, most of the time.

Venus reopening after the vice squad takedown of the whore hotel next door and the club busted with an underaged girl turning tricks out of the club???? erm, wouldn't hold my breath. I'll believe it when I see it...

Truth has been trying to open but the city keeps stopping it. It's is the same owners as Pantheion, yes. Everyone at Legends is talking about it because the restroom mom was hired as the house mom at Truth and was trying to recruit girls. Everyone thinks it will fail like Scores and Silver Rain did (if it ever even opens).

"... Truth has been trying to open but the city keeps stopping it ..."

hmm - that sucks - if the city is dead-set against them opening that means if they do open they will have to probably keep their noses clean which means less-fun

Legends has a party atmosphere but there is still plenty of money to be made. Lol. Three floors full of customers and you can't make money there? I had my first over 1k shirt there on my second night. Dances aside, I've come home from there too tired to count my singles only to count them the next day and have a stack about 8 inches high...

Over 1k shift* lol I don't think they sell shirts there over 1k.

Scores failed as a white/mixed club. Silver Rain failed as a black club. Good luck.

Part of the problem is Scores/Silver rain is a huge club. That means it looks empty even if you have a decent crowd. It also means it costs a ton of money just operate the building let alone staff it. Legends works because its downtown people are drawn there naturally its something to do before or after an event or casino trip.

Very good input, DR99 --- not to mention, there is an abundance of 8 mile clubs to go to that already have made a name for themslves; news clubs on 8 mile will find it hard to compete, whereas Legends has only one near by club to compete with.

Also, it's worth noting that when I started working at Legends, I saw a lot of familiar faces --- managers, bouncers, agents, etc, that I worked with at 8 Mile clubs. That alone gave them an advantage. It is managed quite smoothly. The earning potential is also beth high, although admittedly can be inconsistent.

I meant quite high, not "beth high," whatever that means.

To get a club going on 8 mile your going to have to throw a ton of money at it. Your going to have to do zero/minimal tip out for a long time to just get talent to show up. Girls are always floating around clubs because of drama, but clubs don't want those girls even if they are hot they want reliable girls more than anything else. It makes sense Legends is doing well its using management that came over from Players a well ran 8 mile club. The one club I don't know how it manages to stay open is BT's on 8 mile. Even with the economy doing well I bet we will see a few more clubs close. I never realized how many more SC's were in Detroit in the early to mid 2000's. A lot of them didn't make it
