Wow. Shadowcat, you may need to out that fired stripper....chances are she'll get rehired at some point (they always do) and I know I wouldn't want to take a chance on her in VIP. Think of it as a public service announcement.

It's not the mayor's fault, he doesn't control the interstates or the Ga DOT. That's the governor's domain. And no Tiredtraveler, the mayor didn't "tell everyone to go home at the same time." The mayor has no control over the school systems or the state employees. Also, it wasn't the mayor who declared a state of emergency--that was the governor.
The problem is that Atlanta is way over-congested with traffic (Tiredtraveler was dead-on there). If everyone tries to get in or out of city at same time it's a nightmare. Add in icy roads and inadequate pre-planning for the icy roads and this is what happens. By the time the DOT hit the roads it was too late--the traffic was already blocking everything up. Can't de-ice the roads if everyone is already jammed up on them like a parking lot.

Going strictly by legal definitions of "employee" versus "independent contractor" and what constitutes each, there is no question that under GA law the dancers fit the legal definition of "employees." It's not even a close call, at least not here in GA with how the clubs operate.
Now, the question of whether it is to the dancers' benefit or detriment to be labeled as one or the other is another issue entirely.

Golden Rule, fellas. Think about how ticked off you'd be if you were chatting up your ATF and some slapdick tried to steal her away or sent a waitress over to fetch her. I know it annoys me when this occasionally happens.
If the dancer is with the PL then it's by her choice---respect that. If she wanted to come over to you she would. Just find another dancer.

I saw that review too. Was wondering how long it would take before it became flagged and a topic of discussion.

When Barry Bonds was juicing he was the greatest hitter who ever lived. Had no protection in the lineup, barely saw 1 good pitch a game and he'd hit that one out. You'll never see a guy get pitched around as much as he did, and he still put up staggering numbers. Yes, he was juiced but so were 1/2 the other players in that era and Bonds was still so much better than everyone else it wasn't even funny.
As for pitching, Greg Maddux was truly an artist. There have been many pitchers with more overpowering stuff but no one had the command and precision he had. What a pleasure it was to watch him perform.

What was it that Richard Pryor said about this? "No man alive can fuck, and I mean really fuck, for more than two minutes." Something along those lines. It's funny stuff........

Guess I'm just spoiled by Atlanta's $10 lap dances. No lap dance is worth $25 to me.......

I've been to Follies twice since the raid, both on Fridays. Didn't smell weed on either visit. Crowds were noticeably smaller than typical pre-raid Fridays, and the thug factor was practically zero.

I've seen John Abraham at Follies many times, and spoke to him a couple times as well. Very nice, polite guy---hope the Falcons find a way to bring him back next year.
I also saw comedian Ron White once at Oasis during the dayshift. One of the dancers told me later that he always goes for dancers that are a little redneck-ish and trashy, so I guess he knows how to play to his base.

I've only been there two-three times. Believe me, it's no loss. That place was terrible.

The reason the dancers wait until they are "ex" employees before filing these kinds of lawsuits is because if they filed while they still worked there they would get fired or retaliated against. Same holds true for almost any type of employee-employer lawsuit. That's just good common sense. It has nothing to do with the merits of the case itself.
I can’t speak for all states’ laws, but here in Georgia the way the clubs handle dancers is nowhere close to meeting the legal definition of an independent contractor. They really are employees under Georgia law, and as such clubs are supposed to be subject to state and federal law concerning taxes, wages, overtime, etc----but they get away with shirking these responsibilities UNLESS dancers hold them accountable through these types of lawsuits. Do you think the clubs (or any type of employer for that matter) are just going to step up and “do the right thing†without being sued? Of course not, or they’d already be doing it.
I always find it interesting to see the public outrage that is directed against people and their lawyers for bringing a lawsuit without ever trying to determine first if the case may actually be legitimate. What’s even more interesting is that usually these same people that decry “lawsuits†and “ambulance-chasing lawyers†the loudest then turn into the most litigious and money-hungry people whenever something supposedly bad happens to THEM.

You'd be surprised how fast the money can go in a club. 4-5 lap dances, a couple rounds of overpriced drinks and shots (for the dancers as well), tip a few dancers on stage, etc., and you're looking at a couple hundred bucks, easy---and fast. That amount may sound like a ton to you, but it doesn't necessarily mean he got extras.

It's really very easy to determine if things are real or not. Are you giving her money when you see her OTC? Is taking her shopping or paying her bills a regular part of the routine? Then it's not real.

Skip the strip clubs and call Top Shelf Entertainment for at-home entertainment. They have a website where you can see their girls. I've been to a couple bachelor parties where Top Shelf was used and each time they absolutely blew away anything I'd ever seen at a strip club bachelor party. Go with the 2-girl package and you won't be disappointed.
