California has tight booze & club laws.
No booze in nude clubs (like Deja Vu). Full bar or just beer/wine in topless clubs (like AJ's in San Jose). Full bar in pasties clubs (like Jumbo's Clown Room in LA).
So I'm usually a bottled water guy. And no pregame for me, thank you.

If you are happy tipping for stage and conversation time, then do that. It's your money, spend it however you want to.
But be aware that if you are looking for an extended time chatting and cuddling with a near-naked hottie, she's going to want to occasionally leave your side to offer laps to other guys - unless you specifically ask her to stay with you and you offer (and she agrees to take) a compelling amount of cash to do so.
Just ask her if your terms are acceptable. She will let you know.

Seriously, never been interested in wearing a costume (other than my PL suit) to a club. But seeing dancers going the extra mile to look even more slutty/whorish/sexy than usual is a good thing. Still, when I've gone to a club during one of these, it's usually way too crowded and I have a harder (er... I mean more difficult) time finding the "quality" experience I prefer. So I pass on these events.

I suggest that every wanna be PL who plans on getting a VIP or OTC spend at least 10 hours watching Tom Hopkins videos before you go into a club. You need to learn how to negotiate.
If a stripper asked me for $1k for OTC, I'd just say nothing and wait - as long as it takes - until she said something else. Or I'd laugh and tell her that's not in my budget.

Everyone here complaining that they can't find an SB, or the "rates" are too high is doing this wrong.
There are always new SB's jumping into (and out of) the sugar bowl. A quick scan of the latest census data and some back-of-napkin math will show you that there are at least 1,500 women turning 18 in (almost) every state, almost every day! (Not in Wyoming - but who wants to fuck there?)
SB's are not hookers (although some hookers decide to be an SB), so approaching the Sugar Daddy role as "finding the best UTR hooker rate" is a losing strategy.
I have had SB's for over 10 years, across two major cities. I'm still providing the same moderate range of allowance ($250-$400) today as I was back then. And yes, I said "SB's" deliberately. I currently have 3 active SB's (and 4 more who I connect with every 2-4 months). One is a former stripper, one is a college student, and one is a working actress in LA. For all of you saying that the SB's have changed, I suggest you look at yourself first and think about why you want an SB. As mentioned in previous replies, you can get laid quickly with a hooker and some strippers (Not judging. Celebrating!). But sugar dating is DATING. So you might try looking for a date with a sugar baby, rather than a hoping for a hook up from a UTR hooker on the cheap.

I never tell a dancer her price is too high - for ITC, OTC or anything else.
- I might make a counter offer if her price is close to what I will pay.
- I might go for it if it's in my budget and we can agree on exactly what we will do.
- If her number is so high that I know she has serious GPS, or is just clueless, I tell her that's way over my budget. Then it's up to her to either ask for or make a counter, or just walk away.
But I never play BS head games (no pun intended) - that's just a dick move (ok, pun intended this time.).

It's plausible, but not probable that they get off on EVERY dance.
I met a tiny blond stripper at Deja Vu North Hollywood in the early 2010's who would occasionally take my hand and place it on my right knee, palm up in the regular dance booths (bill-fed machine, $20/song). She would then have me point two middle fingers straight up. Club 7557 was a place in pre-pandemic Van Nuys (north of LA in the San Fernando Valley) that was almost exclusively Hispanic dancers and customers. It wasn't unusual to see a few white guys (like me) in there at any time, usually alone, amongst the 20-40 Hispanic other guests. The club was known for loud Mexican music (ala TJ), cheap beers and cheaper (10$), non-nude, hands-off dances on a long shared sofa seating area. You might be able to cop a feel over a bikini top from time to time, but that was the limit. There were always one or two rather bulky bouncers walking the dance area and actually enforcing the "keep your hands by your side" rules. This was definitely a locals hang out spot for you and your hermano's. I was never offered a phone number, let alone hints at possible OTC.
I think it closed fairly early into the pandemic, maybe around June, 2020. The external signs came down a few months later. I believe the building is still empty.

My advice: Don't overthink this - context is important.
She gave you (I assume she volunteered it and you didn't ask for) her number when you showed her some compassion - and you did that on your paid time. So stay in that lane, as you have been. If she wants to steer this into another direction, she will. Look for the hints of one or more:
- Lets you know she's working today, asks you to come in
- Reaches out for more compassion and a friendly ear.
- Starts to suggest her growing affection or sexual attraction with you
- Straight up offers OTC
- Starts to suggest she has money problems
Any and all of these can happen. It's up to you to decide which, if any you want to encourage when she starts down that road. But if YOU START to go down one path (say affection - OTC - dating?), and she's not feeling it...you will have a mess.
So let her lead, but remember you are in control of your emotions, time and most importantly, wallet.

I've been, to or participated in, Memorial Day observances almost every year since 1985. They just don't draw the crowds today that they used to.
