If you were directing that at me, it's not about being defensive. And I rarely respond to your threads because I don't find them interesting. But you've turned into some kind of thread factory the past couple of days, and it's not clear if you're trying to be provocative or what's going on.
All that I was saying is launching a thread by trying to tell people what their motivations are probably isn't going to get you the result you're looking for. Especially since you don't actually know that much about the people here.

For now Detroit is the last of the great US club towns still standing as something like its heyday. And that's saying something in 2022 after world-changing events. It's my pick. Detroit has taken some hits with high profile closures and unfriendly political shenanigans, but even though I saw it off peak the week I was there (pre-COVID) the clubs overall were far superior to any other town at the time. Sometimes I wonder if places really live up to the hype, because honestly most of the time they don't, and Detroit exceeded it. The clubs were nicer and girls were better looking than I expected all over town.
Providence is a place where I used to travel out of my way to go there because I really liked the clubs. It was like having an Easy Button for all kinds of club fun before I'd figured out how to get that experience anywhere I wanted. The clubs there do punch way over their weight, the girls are quality, and having that crazy law made those clubs the wild west for a long time. But it's kinda like the way I see Los Angeles, eventually the numbers are going to win out and Detroit just had more of everything that was good about the Providence clubs. But I'm still getting back to check out Providence again whenever I find an excuse to go lol.
To use another example, Follies was pound for pound the best club in the country by nearly every measure. The girls were hot. The fun was relatively cheap for the quality and it had privacy available if you were willing to wait. And it had plenty of ITC and OTC options. The one knock on it was that it wasn't the highest end club in the world, but it had good bones. The layout was solid, sight lines were good, and the management stayed out of the way but kept the show moving. If you wanted to just throw money, you could. You wanted to make time with your fav dancer and lock her down for a while? You could. It was just objectively better.
That's Detroit as a club town metro. It's just better until the political machine finally San Diego's it and it goes down for the count.

The first thing I always ask at the stage is what her name is. If her English is garbage, that's usually one of the first thing she says without being asked. If I'm sitting with another dancer and see a girl I like and am not sure about, I'll ask the nearby dancer if the girl on stage speaks decent English.

15 whole minutes?! Bwah ha. I've spent longer than that trying to talk a dancer down from a ledge because I suggested the wrong club to meet at. I thought we were meeting on neutral ground to sort out the details for a no pants dance, and she thought we were going on a date.

I showed up on TUSCL because a buddy of mine kept finding these horrible clubs for us to go see I'd never heard of. After a projectile titty milk incident and I told him that was the end of the line for me at his noname places, he showed me the site and all of the other trash clubs we hadn't been to yet. Turns out TUSCL had good clubs listed, too.
Before I got too busy to keep up, I also used the site to keep the details organized on clubs I'd been to. The discussion forums I've mostly outgrown as customer seeking information, but will chime in if something looks interesting.

And here's another thought on Tampa. One of the reasons I haven't been there in a while is I started going to Cocoa Beach instead. If I'm in Orlando and the choice is driving one hour West or one hour East, it was pre-COVID but more than one time I chose to drive East (not to Tampa). Based on that alone I can't put Tampa over the entire state of New Jersey. It didn't even win Central Florida for me.

I don't think there are enough dancers active on TUSCL to separate the vote, and their participation is a lot more spotty. CMI has a point about dudes getting confused if dancers don't come right out and say they're dancers in their reviews, but dudes get confused by a lot of things lol. Especially on TUSCL.

LA. If it's pound for pound, Providence can take on anyplace. But I gained a new appreciation for LA clubs my last time there. Other than BELAX I only went to poorly rated, long time unrated clubs. And I had an absolute blast doing it.
So if I take those bottom rung clubs (which actually weren't) and pile all the usual suspects on top who get all the glory? Unless COVID collapsed the whole scene that's a win.

Forgot to vote. New Jersey. If there's a gentlemens club in NJ I haven't seen one. Maybe in Atlantic City? But what I've seen there over the years are clubs that are probably underrated and girls that certainly are. I like Tampa. And I've had great, great times in the clubs there. Not lately, but I believe people when they say good times are to be had. But I did see NJ this year and it was exactly what I look for in my clubs. No frills fun with hot chicks.

I'll take a few visits over no visits, but not everyone gets to travel so there's the boards to exchange info. Some of us have seen hundreds of clubs and dealt with many thousands of dancers. At that level the hobby looks completely different. And often meh. For me it turns into creating things to challenge myself, like molding a hardened ROB into my ATF.
Strip clubs are only so complicated, so when you've seen enough of them it's not that tough to read a situation and local scene. At least for what I'm looking for. Usually if I get surprised it's because I'll be doing just fine my way but someone will pass on info on how to get it cheaper, faster, better etc.

I was mostly on the bulletin boards back then for porn, even though I was in college so was too busy living it to watch it lol.

You can always throw in politics when it comes to strip clubs, but XTC had drama before the pandemic. The pandemic dialed all of it up because most of the clubs were closed so it was way too crowded and open way too late. So then all the city was looking for was a reason.
