Thanks for the update. The prices you paid were a bit different from my experience this week. Specifically I paid $8 plus tip for valet, and the vip entry was $20. But those are small sums relative to the cost of a night at the FC. They are strict about the masks when you are not sitting at the table.

I think there’s something else here also, which is weighing individual freedom vs societal good. I tend to value the former more, because it’s a slippery slope otherwise. I.e. its so easy to justify taking away ones freedom for the collective good. It’s not black and white and this one is particularly difficult however. I personally think we all should err on the side of caution. But I care a lot more about protecting people’s right to disagree and not do that.

$65 for 14 oz is pretty cheap, and you might have gotten lower quality product as a result, given your description of gristle. Costco (or all places) has the cheapest decent A5 wagyu rib primal I’ve gotten, and that’s about $90/lb when it’s on sale. It’s basically a different product so some folks cook it using different methods. Personally I actually cook it to medium well or even well, which I’d never do with a regular steak. It is a fatty meat so some may not like it (eg not everyone loves pork belly).

Being the “nice” versus “alpha” male—strip club edition
Agree with others that this seems more about semantics. Personally, I am clear and direct in what I want, and I don’t put up with what I don’t want. But I am always polite and pleasant, no matter whether I get what I want or how others react. In many ways, no different from how I interact with family and friends and colleagues.

It’s her and not you. More importantly... Dude you need to just move on. Don’t dwell on why a stripper ghosted you.

My casual drinking is your alcohol poisoning.
I cannot decide if this is comforting or disturbing:
The way stats are quoted in the article is meaningless. There’s basically no significant information in it.

What is the stripper and regular relationship like?
My first regular was many years ago when I was young and stupid. She basically maintained the entire time that she liked me but it was 99% business and I should not get ideas and confuse things. Of course I didn’t, and it didn’t end well. Lesson learned though

Are there really cameras back there?
Not that often but I almost always agree to the specifics beforehand. I’ve had the opposite experience: i could see the bouncer looking at the monitors for the private rooms, the girl and I got into the room and thing heated up, and I asked about the camera. Her reply: “he doesn’t care and neither do I. Do you?” 😂

I think it’s fine as a hypothesis. Cant substantiate it via your own observation in grocery store though.

Seems the cost is not that relevant. After all we are talking $4 and change vs $6 and change. Also if cost really is the point then you can do the calculation by looking up the prices without actually cooking it. I’d think the main point is something like the joy of cooking and the deliciousness of the food. If so then I hear you man: you just can’t compare a good home cooked burger with MickyD offerings.

The word “No” in Strip Clubs
^ Agree. We are the paying customer. We are there to enjoy ourselves. They are there to entertain us. Folks are too worried about what the girls think of us and how they react etc. I do think a lot of people just let others’ view affect them too much. Reminiscent of George Costanza in Seinfeld

Both places have decent food. FC actually had very good food, but it’s gone downhill a bit over last year when they changed cook and menu. I’m not a big drinker personally. If they have a food minimum and don’t pester me about buying drinks, I’d be perfectly fine with that

What a difference a month makes
My CF gained only about 5lb. She’s petite so you can kind of notice, but then again it’s just 5 lb. Her gym and her club aren’t open. I assume she will carry that extra weight for a bit longer.

Shutdown forcing Strippers to change professions?
One dancer I was with a few weeks back ris a full time hair stylist. She said it’s been so busy since reopening that she had to skip her shifts at the club. Kind of interesting how she prioritizes.
