When I'm on vacation, I hate the idea of just sitting around watching TV. I want to get out and travel, go to theatres, visit museums, eat at places I won't find at home, check out some of the local geek meccas, hit an occasional strip club, just drive until I'm out of gas then fill up and drive some more -- anything but just sitting and starting at a TV.

John, you're easily one of the more articulate and skilled writers that I've seen on any number of boards, including this one. You definitely know how to craft a good vignette. After your hiatus -- after what's doubtlessly a very needed breath of fresh air -- I hope you share more stories with us but hopefully with some expanded horizons, adventures that include AMPs, escorts, and maybe an occasional cosplayer.

Papi, I've seen that in some Indianapolis clubs -- the withdrawal limit's something like $100 but there's a $5 or $6 service fee. Total bullshit.

Maybe she got into some clubs free because she's a woman and developed the attitude that she's entitled to get into all clubs free because she's a woman.

I think I'd much rather be with GingerBread than the DS's. With GB, it sounds like there won't be any sort of emotional confusion on just what's happening on either party's part -- it's the business of pleasure, nothing more -- whereas the DS's, well, it really sounds like they want and need all of that wining and dining so they can try to convince themselves they aren't prostitutes, that they're just high-priced dates.

Yeah, it's happened a couple of times at a club in Indianapolis. The dancers told me to hit the bank's drive-up ATM across the parking lot, rather than pay the ATM fees. Really cool of them, but since my bank refunds all ATM fees, I'm not too worried about it.
One time in Minneapolis, I noticed that I didn't have enough money to bail my car out of a pay parking lot -- stupid me. Went back to the club, got some cash, and walked on back. From then on, I've always the exact cash I'll need for that hidden in my car -- plus a little extra so I can hit a White Castle on the way back to the motel room.

I don't know. Phoebe Cates and Kaley Cuoco always struck me as more the cheerleader types than GNDs. For me, Jennifer Jason Leigh was a bit more of the GND in Fast Times.

I always pictured a girl next door as very cute and approachable, yet welcomed and not seen as a potential rival to other women. Off the top of my head, Lori Laughlin (Full House) and Danica McKellar (Wonder Years) are pretty good examples of the girl next door.

Something that pretty much advertises that we review clubs probably wouldn't be the most welcome thing in clubs, but something a little more cryptic yet humorous might work, like "Level 5 Monger" or something along those lines. Maybe do those logos up in the same colors as we get on our profiles.

Soup's a great suggestion. You might want to try out Ensure and some other drinks that are high in proteins, vitamins, and what-not. Sure, they won't give your body a lot of bulk to work with, but at least it'll give your body a chance to absorb some of the nutrients that you'll need.

At one club, since the fog machine was working per specs, you really couldn't say it was a technical difficulty, but because a number of people -- dancers, staff, and customers -- left because the fog was irritating eyes, sinuses, and everything else, I guess you could say it was a failure.
