Sightseeing, checking out the typical tourist areas, attend local events, and checkout the nightlife (not just specifically strip clubs but nightclubs in general).
On vacation I travel all over the country (48 states) . . . and the world (~48 countries). When I travel, I spend the days visiting tourist attractions, festivals, beaches, etc. and the evenings going to restaurants, movies, concerts. plays, and (depending on where I am and who I'm with) strip clubs.
Generally I like doing stuff that involves history or adrenaline with a trip to the local strip club. Usually it's a way to experience some local women, which is part of the travel experience. I love it.
The only exception is Las Vegas -- girls come in from everywhere.
I like to do a little of each on vacation. I try to take one 9 day long vacation and one or two 4 or 5 day vacation. My nine day vacations consist of one day of just relaxing out of town. Once I have relaxed I like to find the good restaurants in the area. For instance when in Tampa I'll stop by Columbia. In New Orleans hit up some restaurants in the French Quarter. In New England look for some good seafood restaurants.
I'll also site see and hit the vacation spots. I'll also try to hit one or two strip clubs up as long as the clubs are decent, and in cities with a good reputation for Strip clubs I'll often make it a point to try visiting three or four different days both daytime and nighttime. Hit the Casino if there are any in the area.
My shorter trips are often just for one purpose, maybe it's just fine food. In which case I may only hit one or two club during one day. Then there are the strip club trips. Where I'll a Thursday and Friday off and head up to one of the close cities like Detroit for some strip club fun.
When I'm on vacation, I hate the idea of just sitting around watching TV. I want to get out and travel, go to theatres, visit museums, eat at places I won't find at home, check out some of the local geek meccas, hit an occasional strip club, just drive until I'm out of gas then fill up and drive some more -- anything but just sitting and starting at a TV.
It depends on where I decide to go. I have a tendency to go to overly touristy spots for a given city. Strip clubs are a given if the city has any worth the price of admission, and sometimes, I just end up going to one anyway, even if I can see on TUSCL that it is not highly rated.
Depends on who I'm on vacation with. With my kids, we like to play golf, go to the beach and woods and shop.
With my g/f we fuck a lot, see movies (she likes movies; I'm indifferent), and go on sightseeing tours. And smoke pot and drink. She also loves nice restaurants, as do I.
Seriously... when I am able to get away from work I like to travel. I've been trying to see places on my bucket list across the country. Hopefully sooner than later, I'll expand that vision to international travel. If the itinerary allows for a SC visit, I check it out. I've made a few small "see some other SCs runs" but that usually isn't the priority.
My "vacation days" are pretty much all dedicated to specific events. Of course they don't have to be, but I go and do what I enjoy even if repetitious.
When I next retire, I guess a vacation or two will be in my cards. Where to, likely someplace I've been and enjoyed, and fairly local. As one that can't fly long, I am pretty much restricted to North America.
papi, if you go to a club with a buffet you could increase your efficiency …”
Way ahead of you – I always avoid the SC buffet but do partake when I travel in order to maximize my SC time – I really should be awarded a PL of the year award at some point.
to 25: Yes, there are indeed 50 states, and I've been to all of them except North Dakota and Hawaii. Do you believe that there are about 48 countries in the world? LOL
I believe that there are 195 countries in the world but that fluctuates as some countries are not defined as countries for example is not recognized as such but a good general number would 195 give or take for the sake of not arguing.
to 25: You do understand that my question was rhetorical, don't you? Of *course* there are more than 48 countries! (195 is as good an estimate as any.) And everyone but our overrated president knows that there are 50 states :)
Here is where he claimed to have visited 57 states: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4u3PteRP… (25 sec.)
25 and MrDeuce: Okay, even though North Dakota's technically a state, as a resident, I can safely say it's much more of a black hole than a politically defined region.
PhantomGeek: Good point. I have no particular interest in North Dakota, but I *must* see Hawaii before I die, and I'm the kind of person who can't be satisfied with visiting every state but one.
To Mr. Deuce I wasn't sure that you were aware of the correct number, but even so, if you say you were aware that's fine, it didn't feel rhetorical on the original comment. I took your 48 countries to mean that's how many you had visited.
I have visited every state except Alaska but I do not remember visiting some states. I was too young. I do remember Hawaii. It seemed like I always spent summer vacation as a young kid on the road. Now I seem fine with staying home. I'm happy work cut back all unnecessary travel back in 2008 because they used to fly people all over the country for training or whatever they wanted. I'm thankful I did not have to go to China or Brazil for work. I knew others who had to go. I'll knock on wood now. Someone at work might say I'm an expert at something and want me to fly somewhere, hopefully not.
I remember talking to some dancers after I returned from one trip and one of my favorites seemed a bit envious saying she had never flown anywhere. I almost can't imagine having never done that or never traveling very far away. I have talked to some dancers who never traveled more than a few states away.
I had to fly to Milwaukee 3 or 4 times in February, that had to be one of the worst times to visit the frozen tundra up there. In Ohio just the lakes and ponds were frozen but in Wisconsin, the rivers freeze. That was just too cold. I once lived in Ohio and do not miss temperatures below zero. Currently running my air conditioning even today during the day time. I do not remember the Northeastern US or Southwestern US very well. Well I do remember seeing California from the air but don't remember hardly anything on the ground except pics. I was just thinking I could fly all over the US if I wanted to visit relatives.
Depends on the vacation and the location. For proper vacations I like to travel somewhere where there's worthwhile history or scenery or entertainment with some time budgeted to chill and splurge on myself. If there are decent stripclubs, hit them, but not go out of my way for it.
Other times I try to time work/family travel so I can stay out of town for a couple of extra days and then either stay in place or stop elsewhere on the way back and have a couple of nights out on the town.
