It's called the Rosewood Theater now if you're thinking of the place in Manhattan on the (way) west side.

Papi and CJ, thanks for the update. I'll have to check out some of the things I didn't know about. Happy to hear Shadowcat is still alive and kicking (even if in 6" heels- I kid, I'm a kidder). I noticed all of the VIP Only places and the other areas. Glad Tijuana has it's own place now. I'm glad there is more discerning of the reviews. I saw my recent review had adjudicators (thanks Papi for being one to approve it). Do VIPers really take it seriously? I could see it problematic for those members who might not get along with each other, rejecting each others reviews out of spite. I also noted that my review was rejected by Lido_Mgmt, representing a direct competitor here in NYC to Ricks. Even if it was for valid reasons in their point of view, I think it's still suspect because it's a conflict of interest. I'll look into getting verified. Don't know how often I'll get to visit but I'll try to check in from time to time.

Yup, NYC is no longer the place it was. Good and bad. Some of the titty bars in the bad old days were pretty seedy not to mention the peep shows and x rated shops so no loss there. The higher end clubs though still deserve a place. I think The Lido Room, which I haven’t tried, has an interesting strategy by moving around and being invite only rather than having a brick and mortar address.
Honestly, Lace wouldn’t be a big loss. I don’t know Satin Dolls, NY Dolls though is an established club downtown and that would be a shame to lose. Surprised all it’s Wall Street clientele and downtown lawyers aren’t helping them out. Or maybe they are, lots of money these years of litigation.

A few times when I was lonely in a club and took matters into my own hands, the dancers were surprised, very appreciative and turned a downer evening around. However, there's always the chance of waking a dud. Thankfully that has happened less often.

The only place I've had to valet was Bare Elegance near LAX and that's because they were really the only game in town (around the airport). I've been able to avoid it otherwise. In other clubs that had mandatory valets, like SJG, I've been able to find a parking spot nearby on the street and have walked up.

I go in fits and starts as it is. I think one day I'll just be over it because it's become so... boring. Give me a moment, I've gone into so many different places, witnessed so much lackluster talent, thought to myself it's the same old same old. Then I find a star, a special, a girl(s) that snaps me out of it. When they become fewer and far between, when they stop, I'll (probably) stop.

Somewhere in the club
I have been an unintentional Sampler when I seem to find myself in a sort of dancers' rotation: "Introduction, Chat, Dance, Thanks, Back to my seat." Repeat. I think it's almost opposite to what's been talked about. It looks like I'm an easy PL and when the girls see I'm getting dances from many of them, they want a share too. And I admit, some of these nights have been allot of fun though I will also admit they're not usually in a "regulars" kind-a club. Conversely, I also think if you are always turning the girls away, word gets out and you're left lonely.

I always keep track of the number of songs in my head (as best as I can) and periodically will quiz the dancer on how many it's been. Most usually ask if I want them to keep going after a song anyway. I've only been to a few clubs where the girls didn't say anything and would have kept going if I didn't stop them. Of course, timed VIPs are different matter.

It's amazing this conversation has gone on so long. Waiting 90m for a dancer? I cut my losses after 15. What gets me more than a whale or a regular cock-blocking me from one girl is the opposite when a dancer won't leave so I can get dances from others and I'm too polite to tell her to scram. I know that has been discussed before. I'm open to all comers and have been pleasantly surprised by dancers who at first didn't tickle my fancy and have been disappointed with the ones I "waited" for. But I'm a traveling monger with limited time so my perspective may be different.

I was going to post an article too. That one listed one of the pending charges as "lewd activity involving 'audience participation.'" YMMV

If you don't want to venture into the city (Manhattan), look at reviews for clubs in Brooklyn and Queens which should be closer to JFK. I haven't been to many there though to give you straight advice. The city is pretty safe, actually one of the safest large cities in the US. Just be aware of your surroundings and don't do anything stupid like start an argument with someone. I think you'd be disappointed with the clubs further out on the Island. Purely amateur hour.

I'm with Papi on this. If I ever busted, it would end my night and why would I want that? Although what SJG said above has ended my nights many times. And again, like Papi, I also consider buying more dances from the same dancer a tip. If I let her go after one, she probably didn't deserve one anyway.

Sometimes, I don't mind it. If I have had a particularly good night and I still smell a fave on me when I'm in the car, I smile all the way home. Before doing laundry, if the faintest whiff remains, the same smile returns.

TUSCL’s #1 Soothsayer!
I commented on the wrong discussion string about my concerns for a unified Republican Government in all branches. I'm not going to repeat it here. Yes, the hope is when confronted with this big responsibility, they do the right thing and can control the right wing fringe elements. What I will paraphrase from my comment on the other thread was that the constitutional separation of powers was to help protect the minority from the majority. To say the least, that will be watered down. In the extreme, would that lead to IS Deportation Squads rounding up all latinos without due process? Would, by law, all Muslims have to report to internment camps in the interest of national security as was done to the Japanese? That's a worse case scenario and probably to blatant but I bet we see some laws with insidious creep. Or worse yet, see private citizens now emboldened to take matters into their own hands.

I don't know what HC did to garner such hatred but the point is moot and you don't have her to kick around anymore so I hope the blood lust has been satisfied. Now though, we will no longer have a divided Government. The Republicans have the WH, the Senate and the House and probably/eventually, the Supreme Court. Our system of checks and balances is watered down and the ability of the majority to stick it to the minority has been strengthened going against what the constitution is supposed to protect. The next two years especially will allow the Republicans and the far right to push the nation to what they envision it should be. One has to try to be hopeful as I was when GWB was elected despite not being my choice that they'll do the right thing. So rejoice now, HC haters, because what happens next is all on you.

I got a kick out of the photo. Cops are looking around and STILL the dancers sit uninterested, lost in their phones.

Likewise @Papi_Chulo, I'm impressed with your numbers. I agree that the more experienced, or the hounds that are particular will not see a center to the universe, nor care if there is one as long as their ATF or favorite club(s) are always there. Me, as a traveling PL, hope for a variety and numbers of clubs in the cities I go to better be able to pick and choose the club which I hope will have the best experience. Therefore I may look for the center in the hopes of going there.

@Meursault, yeah I should have looked at the TUSCL listings first. Looked like Munich has the most clubs for Germany and Pattaya in Thailand. Paris turned out to be rather thin and seems to have the same problem as NYC, many Eastern European and Russian girls. I wonder how you say "Vanna Dance: in French?
Obviously everybody has their favorite areas and there is a "personality" to each of them. Singling out Las Vegas as the lowest value though is not necessarily true. I've been to some clubs in Ohio where a dance charge was $30 and it was all air (chickie actually moved my hand off her leg as if it was a dirty napkin). I waited for the 2-fer-1s in that case.
My hat's off to my fellow travelers, @mrdeuce and @ desertscrub. Would be interested to hear one day your take and strategy as a transient man in a regular's club.

I think perception plays a big part in assuming Las Vegas as the center as @Meursault pointed out. Bachelor parties don't tout going to Portland to party. However, I hadn't thought of New Orleans. The Bourbon St row of clubs certainly beats the closest grouping of clubs (if there is any) that Vegas has and NOLA has its own reputation. Second to that per square foot presence may be "the block" in Baltimore though not really a good stand-out place to party, get killed maybe
I can respect @Clubbers and @Meursaults point of view that the center of the universe is where ever your ATF is. I've had some much better experiences in clubs in other cities besides Vegas. Still, as a perceived standard to which other places compare themselves, would Vegas be it?
And props to @chessmaster. One thing that happens when you think of yourself as the center is taking advantage of it and getting sloppy and expensive and wanting more for less because it's "Vegas baby."
A shout out to @eyeamlong for bringing up cities in Bangkok and the Philippines for an international perspective. Both places would probably best Tijuana. Anybody have any thoughts on Berlin? Paris? After all, the topless showgirl sort of started there.

After just coming back from a trip out, I started to wonder about costs for the off strip hotels, your Marriott Courtyards and such. One of the reasons being the MGM resorts has started instituting a Parking Fee of $10 a day at all of their properties. Add their $25 (or more) a day resort fee and if your driving, a reasonable $70 or $80 a night room has gone up to over $100. I'm a MLife member and if you do reach the higher levels, some of these fees may be waved. I always do rent a car and drive myself to clubs. Some of the time it gets the cover waved for me or I get a discounted entry. Rental cars are in the $30+ range depending on what you want.

I met a stripper in LA who was lead singer in a band with a decent webpage and regular local gigs around SoCal. Another one in Las Vegas who said she had an upcoming Internship with the CBS Network in California. But still, certainly the exception rather than the rule. Many I meet seem like lost souls, not much of a plan beyond today, trying to figure out what they are going to do. They'll have a real good night, take a few days off and blow it all and have to come back. Others, it is their job and speak of it as "going to work."
