    Strippers take over cruise ship
Never been interested in a cruise, until now. Once you're in international waters, what, if any laws apply to nudity and other extra curricular activities on a cruise ship. Do any cruise lines feature adult entertainment?

    Venus grand opening!
Never been there. I wish you success. I hope this club is officially in Dearborn, as the Detroit Vice seems to be hassling the clubs that are inside the city limits. Nothing like a self inflicted wound-- drive the clubs in the city of Detroit out of business so you can have more abandoned buildings and lower tax revenue.

    Some Interesting Review Statistics
Interesting list. Of the clubs on this list, how many would you consider to be extras/ultra high mileage (E/UHM) clubs? I would speculate that E/UHM accounts for the unusually large number of clubs in Metro Detroit (the city is barely in the top 20 based on city population) and some of the clubs in more rural areas (e.g., Electric Blue). Not sure what accounts for six Chicago-land clubs (typically low mileage) on this list and the paucity of reviews for NYC clubs?

Reactions to the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings
I don't know what the truth is in this "he said, she said" melodrama. But I found Kavanaugh's testimony to be remarkably combative and dismissive. He sounded like a spoiled rich boy who is used to getting his way, even if by yelling and bullying others. I'm not sure that he will make an even handed, thoughtful Supreme Court Justice. One more take home point for me--- political leanings and affiliations certainly influence perceptions, even of the very same event. Makes the concept of "truth" seem quaint and elusive.

Reactions to the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings
Hmmm. Hard to keep the politics out of this! Recall that there were three people in the room at the time of the alleged assault; the third person, Mark Judge has not been interviewed or subpoenaed. Does a Supreme Court nomination merit a thorough investigation? What harm would come out of an FBI investigation to verify if evidence supports either of these conflicting accounts.

How many clubs that you have reviewed are now closed?
Shadowcat has an unusually high percentage of closed clubs (just over 50%), more than any other responder. What accounts for that?

4 out of 70. But two of the clubs that are listed as "closed" have been reopened under different names.

Sounds like a pretty good retirement plan, $100 for a HJ from a series of dancers. Hope it is covered by Medicare.

    Real TUSCL Roll Call
Interesting idea. Would your list be any different if you based it on the actual number of posts? You could include reviews, review comments and discussion comments. For example, here are my totals. I might note that I scan the discussions daily but I contribute only when I have something "meaningful" to contribute--- of course the distinction between meaningful and trivial is open for debate. Recommended albums/musical groups, past two decades?
rockie: I have also "discovered" Alabama Shakes and Susan Tedeschi. Great stuff. My tastes are pretty eclectic-- Arcade Fire, Animal Collective (the Merriwether Post Pavillion album) and Alt-J are all worth a listen. Lots of great suggestions-- I'll do some sampling!

Great suggestions. Thanks. I saw Florence and the Machine in concert, as the opening act for U2. Great music and talent. I'll start working through the other suggestions.. I've also enjoyed a few other contemporary artists, including Lana Del Ray and Kendrick Lamar and Black Eyed Peas.

    Flight Club Bottle Prices
FC is overpriced. They've raised the cost of bottled beer to $10. No idea about Elysian. If you like beer, I do recommend a couple of brews from a Michigan micro brewery, Oberon and Two Hearted Ale, both from Bell's Brewery. Many of the dancers hang out at the upstairs bar, where smoking is allowed. If you don't mind smoke, that's a good place to hang out. The other strategy is to tip the dancers on stage and invite them to join you. If you're interested, don't be shy about discussing extras and prices. They do have a dress code, not sure if hoodies are allowed but they would be out of place in the club. Best advice on clothing, wear soft, thin fabric pants for shorts and go commando. Have fun and writ a review.

OT: Best musical artist of all time
NinaBambina: Joplin was great and her version of Me and Bobby McGee is my personal favorite. However, that song was written by Kris Kristofferson and Fred Foster. For me, you need to write and perform music to make my list of Greatest Musical Artists. The females at the top of my personal list are Carol King and Joni MItchell, both great song writers and performers but unlikely to make most lists unless you like folk or folk rock.

How to entertain yourself during an airport layover?
Good points about practicality and expense barriers, especially in a public funded facility. If someone figured out a way to pull this off, I would certainly use the services, especially when traveling solo (without family) and when I have flight delays and layovers. Of course, getting the strippers through airport security would be fun--- if they'd strip down to a G string for TSA checks, that would be fun and might be a great recruiting tool for TSA.

% Of Dancers Nationally That Do Extras
100% do extras, unless there is a new strip club chain that features virgins. Maybe that market niche is reserved for the Catholic Church. The issue is price and location.
