So maybe it isn't all about the money after all, maybe it's all about the drugs.

I often wonder if strip clubs aren't somewhat tied to the construction cycle. The construction industry is among the most cyclical of all our major industries, and it employs a lot of younger guys and pays them fairly well. It wouldn't surprise me if it's a major source of stripper income in most areas. And right now it's in a major slump.

I have a couple of clocks that I never got around to changing in the spring so they're now right again. Maybe that's the way to do it, keep half your clocks on standard time and the other half on daylight savings time, then you never have to change anything. One of the advantages of being retired is that I never care what time it is anyway - for me there are only 2 times that matter: light out, dark out. The details just don't matter.

I once had a similar problem. I tried out a new club, liked it and became a semi-regular. Problem was that on my first visit a girl joined me and I bought a couple dances from her. I liked her OK at first but her dances were terrible, in fact she was somewhat on the heavy side and they were downright painful. So for the next couple of visits she would spot me as soon as I came in and would sit down next to me (the only seats at this club were at the bar so dancers would often sit next to you withouot asking.) I just stopped buying dances from her. She eventually left me alone. Nice enough girl but not my type. You don't have to say anything or be rude, just don't spend any money on the ones you aren't interested in.

Sorry to join in late but I just got back to this board after traveling. Anyway, I think you have to distinguish between professional criminals and others - professionals will target wealthy areas, but that's a very small portion of total crime, most of which is poor drug addicts targeting those who live nearby, in other words poor areas. They don't go to wealthy areas bacause they have no easy way of getting there and the risk of getting caught is high.
When clubbing I've always preferred visiting clubs in rural or suburban areas during the afternoon or early evening and avoiding alcohol. I've never had or seen a problem when doing this. In fact the only time I ever had a problem (and it was fairly minor) was a time that I had violated 2 of those 3 preferences. IMO, if you drink heavily late at night in a city you're asking for trouble, whether you do so in a strip club or regular bar.

I admit it's a small sample, but every dancer who I've ever gotten to know well has occasionally dated a customer. But not very often. Yes it's all about the money, and yes they all have rules that they don't date customers. But who among us has never broken one of our own rules of behavior? That's just being human. Dancers are human too.

Keep in mind that not all customers are looking for either high mileage or extras. In fact I'd guess that most aren't. Almost any time I've ever been in a club, far fewer than half the customers bought private dances, so obviously they're there for some other reason. Which is a big reason why reviews shouldn't focus on mileage IMO.

I think dancer incomes have been declining for years. And I think the main reason is the way most clubs are managed - hiring too many dancers, raising prices and other things that chase away customers, when they should be doing the exact opposite. IMO the days of easy big money are over in most places.

That's the beauty of using a cel phone as my primary timepiece instead of wearing a watch, it adjusts automatically.

I almost made it but was done in by the weather. As Shadowcat knows, I was planning to stop by for an hour or two on late Thursday afternoon. Left my house early Thursday morning in the rain and it took me 4.5 hours to go the first 150 miles after being stuck in humongous traffic jams trying to get by both Baltimore and DC. By the time I got to the NC-SC border I had already driven over 500 miles in pouring rain, it was getting dark, visibility was terrible, and I was exhausted, so I reluctantly gave up and stopped for the night. And then continued on to meet my ATF the next night for dinner and 4 (out of a planned 10) days of fun. At which point my visit was shortened by a very blessed event which came a week early, and everything went perfectly and all was right with my world. Thank you God for a perfect 10 days. I just got home about an hour ago. Sorry I missed you all, hope to make it next time.

Jablake, I only have one ATF (who I'll be visiting shortly but that's another story.) I've had several regulars over the years, one of whom I especially liked and who I consider my #2 fave, there's but only one ATF.

I'd guess about half. But I think it depends on how you define who is and who isn't a dancer. Seems like a lot of young girls try it for a short time and then move on to something else, or they're in and out depending on when they need some money, or they're part-timers while they go to school or work at some other job. If you exclude these temporary dancers, the percentage wwith kids probably goes way up.

I'm no expert but I'm under the impression that there are many different types of staph, some of which are much more serious than others.
But to get back to the original topic, forget the hair, I'd rather play with boobs anyway. I wonder how she feels (no pun intended) about that?

Seems to me that could happen anywhere that people congregate in close proximity.

I used to favor one club but the club changed from time to time because it wasn't about the club, it was the dancers who worked there. Once you find and get to know a group of dancers who you really enjoy, clubbing becomes more fun. But when the dancers moved on, so did I - it just wasn't ever the same after that.

I'm not sure why but my ATF used to remind me of Holly Golightly in "Breakfast At Tiffany's" which you younger guys have probably never seen (it's my all-time favorite movie.) They don't look at all alike but there's something about their respective personalities, maybe their strong willed self-confidence coupled with an underlying feeling of vulnerability that makes you want to protect them?

My definition of the ideal ATF: (1) I find her very attractive, (2) she's really fun to be with, (3) she consistently treats me the way I want to be treated. I've only ever known 2 dancers who met all three criteria. The first one I didn't get a chance to know for very long. The second one I've known for over 10 years.

For me ATF means just what it says - of all the dancers I've ever met, she's the one I liked the most.

Whenever I hear Beastie Boys, especially anything from their first album. My ATF always danced to that. Staying on my boat overnight also does because she once spent a night with me there. And a couple of reestaurants that we frequented.

Jablake, believe what you want. Some people choose to take responsibility for their lives, some would rather blame others for their problems. Obviously there are exceptions, such as the rape victim who had no choice, but most of us don't fall into that category, most of us do have choices. Most addicts chose their addiction.

I'd pay off debts too, if that were allowed, or get a new boat and/or a Boxster. Nice sports cars (and boats) aren't that expensive if you buy used. But given the coice, I wouldn't trade my memories for money.

Bones, don't forget feet. I've given my ATF foot massages on several occasions and she loves them, and it usually turns out to be both feet and legs. I'll probably be doing it again this weekend. Just found out that her BF is going to be out of town and I'm staying at her apartment the first night there. Should be fun. I plant to bring some good wine. Have you tried wine and candles?

Jablake, if the customer loses control it's because he has chosen to do so. Addicts aren't an exception, they choose their addictive behavior. That's true whether you're talking about being addicted to some stripper or to drugs. You always have a choice - that's what life is all about.

"One topless dancer gave a man a lap dance, although her acrobatic gyrations avoided brushing against his lower body." Say what? How can anyone give a lap dance without "brushing against his lower body"? Isn't his lap considered part of his lower body? Seems to me if she isn't at least "brusing against" his lap she isn't doing a lap dance. Or am I missing something?
