Thanks, Doug. Yes it was intentional. The purpose of my last sentence was to make that obvious but I guess it didn't work.

I don't think reviews should to be limited to that but such stuff is certainly appropriate. When I used to travel regularly I always read reviews first to get an idea of what different places were like. Reviews that only discussed which dancer did what were of no help to me in deciding where to go.
I think most people who read TUSCL reviews never look at or post on this discussion board. When I said we weren't typical, I was talking about those of us who post here. I have no idea whether TUSCL review readers are typical of club goers in general or not, but I suspect they're more typical than we are because they are probably much greater in number.

To put this in a little different perspective, I'm under the impression that, unlike here, in the UK 16 is considered the age of consent for sexual activity and possibly other things as well. We're sort of unique in the world in treating people as children until they're 18 or 21, in most other parts of the world they're treated as adults at a much younger age. Am I wrong?

When you make anything for which there is demand illegal, you force it undergound so that supply is controlled by criminals. Which typically makes the situation worse not better. Prostitution is an obvious example. So are drugs.
I think most strip clubs are pretty safe places because there are almost always cops around. Cops often stop by to check out what's going on and they get to know management and some of the girls. And off-duty cops are a major customer group in many clubs.

The Zen approach is that whenever you buy something new you picture it in your mind as old and broken. Then when that happens you won't care. I actually think that's sound advice.

Probably just a coincidence that the club got busted 5 days before election day. Right?
Seems to me the gentlemenly thing to do is for us all to offer to help our favorite strippers in their time of need.

Clubber, I also think country has the most talented singers.
My taste in music varies with my mood, which is partly determined by where I am and the time of day. In the morning I prefer something soft and soothing like soft rock or classical music, afternoons I tend to like something more lively like classic rock, evenings something more moody like jazz or country or chamber music. Nothing like country while driving on a long trip late at night. If I listen to the radio, I find that no matter what station I listen to, I generally like about half the songs and don't much care for the other half. Same is pretty much true for most CDs, which usually are about half filler and half good songs.
In strip clubs I prefer classic rock. But if I'm out in the boonies I don't mind some country mixed in - it sorta goes with the atmosphere. But no rap or hip-hop please - I don't consider that to be music, it's just noise.

I know a place (Pleasure Dome in PA) where dollar dances take place all evening long. Guys sit on high bar stools that line the perimiter of the room, and after their stage dances the girls circulate and give each guy a dance while standing in exchange for a dollar (the guys are practically standing too because of the high stools.) The dances are pretty high contact and the girls do their best to convince you to take them in back. It's a fun time because most of the girls are quite attractive.

I bet he and the class enjoyed it a lot more than they would have enjoyed the gorilla. But it makes me wonder how come all that could have taken place before the "horrified teacher" got the authorities to break it up. Sounds like maybe she was enjoying it too. Bet that kid's pretty popular these days.

Is he a he? Be funny if it was some chick, like maybe an ex-stripper who retired years ago but figured out how to still get us PLs to support her.

I admire people who can be positive in the face of adversity, who view problems as opportunities. I try hard to be like that but don't always succeed. But I have learned one thing from the effort - life is a lot more fun when you're positive and don't let little things bother you. And it's almost all little things.

Seems to me it would differ depending on whether the infraction was considered a misdemeanor or a feloney. So it would depend on what exactly the guy was convicted of. And since we're talking about a lawyer I would think some sort of plea bargain would be likely. In other words the prostitute would get screwed and the customer would get off. And isn't that what always happens, isn't that what he's paying for?

I also think there are two other factors at play here (no pun intended) - many clubs are very seasonal, busy at some times of the year but not others - and the seasonal pattern varies greatly by location. Some girls take advntage of that by traveling.
Secondly, I think there's a fairly common life cycle experience for a lot of dancers. When they're new and still fairly niave, they attract a lot of customers who want to try out the new girl. Then over time they may become somewhat jaded or gain wieght or develop an attitude, and they gradually lose their appeal. If they've managed to avoid those mistakes and build a stable of regulars their income may contine to grow for years. But those who make those mistakes see their incomes go into a slow steady decline. They're the ones who bitch about "the rotten economy."

Chandler, that's my point exactly. In most of the clubs I've ever visited, most of the customers just sit and watch and never play. They're there to drink and look at naked women, and that's all. The people here are not at all representative of the typical club goer.
My definition af an extra is anything that involves direct skin to skin contact with genitals. As someone else pointed out, that's pretty much illegal everywhere when there's money exchanged, but the lesser stuff may or may not be legal depending on where you are. Actions that would generally be considered illegal almost everywhere in the US are extras, other play is not. That's my definition.

I usually take around $200 cash and almost never spend it all. A typical visit for me is in the $50-100 range if the club has private dances, about half that if they don't. The only time I will spend more than that is if I find a girl who really turns me on and that's pretty rare. And I never use an ATM, I don't even know how.

I wonder if he ever posts here under another name? If I were him I think I'd be tempted to do that just for fun. I've sometimes thought about registering a different name and arguing with myself. I wonder if anyone here has ever done that. It could be amusing.

Sorry guys, I should have expected this, but I never intended for this to be a vote for whether or not anyone likes a particular kind of music. As far as strip clubs go, in most clubs country would annoy me, but when I'm in a rural club I kinda expect it so it doesn't bother me at all. I've come to the conclusion that I don't much care how someone categorizes a song, some things I like and others I dislike, and that's equally true for almost all types of music. Probably the only two things I can say with some certainty is that I prefer female vocalists to males, and that I prefer hearing good musicians rather than mediocre ones. And IMO the level of musicianship in country music ha improved dramatically over the last decade or two. Other than that I guess you could say my taste in music is eclectic.
I was actually trying to make 2 points: (1) I though it was a good show - but why are there so few music shows on TV? (2) I really dig both Carry Underwood and Kelli Pickler and yet they are almost complete opposites. So I guess you could say my taste in females is eclectic.

Actually the girl to whom I referred headed up the computer department for a small company. She was a geek not a lawyer. She worked 4 days a week at her regular job and booked a motel room every other Friday. And she drove a fairly new Lexus. And was very good looking. Makes me wonder how common that sort of thing is - single professional mothers adding to their incomes with a small number of select clients.

Not me. But I've always been curious whether it's one person or several. Seems like a lot of work for one person. But may not generate enough income for several. Maybe one person with some part-time help? What a perfect job for some college dude.

Let me just add one thought that may or may not be relevant. The so-called "drug problem" in this country is really 2 separate problems: the health issues and money/crime. Vast sums of money can be made from selling drugs even by small-timers because they are illegal and therefore expensive. This produces 2 results: sellers resorting to violence to lessen competition, and users committing crimes to fund their habits. Legalize drugs, make them available inexpensively, and much of the money/crime problem will diminish. Which may or may not increase the health drug-related health problems.
I happen to think that much of the appeal of drugs stems from them being illegal but that's obviously just an opinion. But at least our prohibition experience indicates that there's some validity to this argument - alcohol consumption increased dramatically during and after prohibition. In any event, by taxing durgs much like we do alcoholic beverages, funds could be made availabe to address the health issues way beyond what we're currently doing.
To me there are strong arguments in favor of legalizing drugs. I happen to think that our current drug laws are stupid and are a major cause of much of our crime problem. I also think addiction should be treated as an illness, not a crime. Our cost of incarcerating addicts is enormous.

New housing construction is probably the most cyclical major sector of our economy and until recently it was experiencing a very long boom period, largely due to record low long-term interest rates. And as a result until recently there were That period is over, and I doubt if any of us will ever see anything like that again in our lifetimes. Dancers better get used to it.
A lot of white-collar customers disappeared 15-20 years ago when IRS rules on business entertaining changed. Now a lot of blue collar customers are disappearing too. Management needs to either lower prices dramatically or get used to seeing empty clubs. The number of interested guys who can afford today's club prices is declining.

Actually I think there are a lot of dancers much like MIDancer out there. If I didn't think so I would have quit clubbing a long time ago.

I totally agree with Chandler here. I'm not interested in sex with a stranger under any conditions, least of all in a strip club.

I think whether you're a couple or a group or a single, the attitude that you project has a lot to do with whether girls approach you or not. When I'm in a club where I'm not known (which I guess is all of them now) I usually try to project an attitude that I want to be left alone because I prefer not to be approached but to be the one doing the approaching. It usually works.

I used to know a girl who had a good full-time job but also did some prostitution with a limited number of regular clients to supplement her income. And yes she was a single mother. She once told me that most of her clients were lawyers.
