My uninformed opinion (yes, I admit to being fallible) leads me to believe that, even here in Detroit, the SC is on the decline:(1) the nickle and dimeing for valet parking, booths, VIP entry, dance fees, drinks, meals, coat check and tips for everyone who is breathing has made SCs almost unaffordable for younger men; (2) as baby boomers face forced early retirements and loss of pensions, club visits become fewer; (3) ill-mannered, coarse and fugly dancers are driving customers away; (4) LE crackdowns in response to demands from active community groups--with a strong base of registered voters--will keep up the pressure, especially during an election year; (5) media portrayals of SCs as fronts for human trafficking are swaying state legislatures towards restrictive legislation; (6) the state and federal judiciary is moving, rapidly, to the right on many issues, including narrowing the right of a dancer to engage in "freedom of expression." We will see a return to banning topless or nude dancing as "gross indecency" and a violation of community norms. It is happening right now, but we won't see the full effect until about two years from now.

2019 is an election year in Detroit. The incumbent mayor, the former Wayne County Prosecuting Attorney, wants to brag about cleaning up Eight Mile Road, so he has ordered a crack-down. The club owners have upped prices--cover, mandatory valet and coat check, drinks, VIP entrance and dances to get the needed extra money for bribes. It won't work. Few businesses relying on discretionary spending can make it by raising fees and cutting services (taking down curtains and stopping extras).

The SuperBowl draws more stay home attention than any general election.

In some clubs dancers have quotas for drinks. The bartender keeps a log. I've seen dancers dump drinks in a janitor's bucket, potted plant or standing ashtray and move on to the next customer and ask him for a drink. What a racket!

Paris, France is installing new street stands for public urination. Outdoor urination is becoming the norm in Paris so the city is putting up catch basins marked for urination.

Will you have to pay for everything, including her air fare, meals, souvenirs for herself and family, shopping for clothes and night clubbing in Rome? Will she attempt to bring drugs on the trip and get you busted at the airport? Is she expecting you to pay her for her companionship or compensate her for lost income because she is not dancing? Can she maintain conversation and hold your interest for the duration? Can you handle being in Italy and stuck with a "dumb stripper?"
