Actually, I do. Not all the time; I think I've developed a certain "Blink"-type sense of which dancers are ROB's and which are genuinely going to try and give you something for the money you're giving them. But it's because of the latter I feel bad for for not having a job that pays $75k.

I'm sorry to say that it's been a down year for me. Still unemployed, and it was finally a year where I had to dip into my savings to get by. I still used some of it to go stripclubbing, but even I had to cut back at some point. Lost an ATF. She said my favorite stripclub was closing. It hasn't; in fact, it put a new jukebox in, hardly an expense a bar that's shutting down would make. But she's gone. Another dancer I like is leaving "The Life" and "going straight," too. I'm mostly saddened over an ATF that I don't think I will get dances from any longer. I used to trust her with some ITC fun, but for some reason she won't touch my pee-pee anymore after I offer it to her. I'm mad at her, but sad at the end of our relationship, such as it is. I also feel kind of bad that I might have lost the respect of another stripper. I think she's hot, and I've even see her OTC (no sex, just hanging out) a few times. I thought I'd take a chance and show her my pee-pee the next time I saw her working, and she, uh, hasn't been cool with me the same way since. Now that I think about it, my dick-showing exploits have run into a bit of a cockblock this past year. If the party I plan on going to is dead, I will hit up a club. New Year's Eve seems to be a time to party around strangers, so I don't mind a raucous crowd tomorrow if need be. And as for drunk drivers: There are a lot more around tomorrow night, but I always have the mindset that I could get into an accident on the road any day of the week. Great poem, shadowcat. Just one minor quibble: I find it sort of disjointed that I'm thinking of you when the poem is from the standpoint of the stripper.

You know, I'm going to stick my neck out and advocate the unpopular opinion that this isn't totally without merit. Yes, you can see more graphic sexual imagery on TV. But if anyone thinks Hooters waitresses aren't there to be somewhat sexualized objects, they need to wise up. I confess: I go there lots of times. My wallet's pretty lean these days, so seeing girls with tight shirts and showing as much cleavage as they can gets a horny guy like me through the day. (And when I was flush with cash, I usually start off my stripclubbin' night with dinner at Hooters. It's kind of a starter course for the main later, you know what I mean?) Anyway, I often see families go there. Families, including kids. Including daughters. Again, I don't mean to be a prude, but if I had a daughter, I'd think twice before exposing her to the objectified adult version of what she'll become, especially at that young of an age. Would I go so far as to ban Hooters from serving minors? No, probably not. But I also think of it this way: If there are no underage kids, that means the environment there is safer for adults to do adult stuff. Spandexman could be right: Maybe then we can get our lap dances during our meal! And for those of you say T&A's better elsewhere: Where? We're talking about restaurants here, so I'm not looking for a club. Where?

And I also echo everyone else's belief that you should talk it out to someone you trust, even a professional, as you deal with this loss. Finally, please don't blame yourself Godspeed. I know of only one girl who died; it was of an OD. Didn't see her the year before she died because she moved to another club, but everyone who was a regular at her old club knew her because she was sexy as hell. What can you do besides patronize her work and try to be friendly and, possibly, give good advice if she asks for it?
