Go to a Dancer's Birthday Party?
Oh forgot: ..."any similar experiences? Yes and they were parties, just as they were billed, and just like anyone else might want to have in a go-out-and-get partied-up sense. No regrets.

Go to a Dancer's Birthday Party?
Steve, you're nvited to party with strippers, what's not to like about that? Sure you should go, if only to take the measure of her for future reference. At the least, you're at a bad party, at the most, you'll have fun. In between lies a lot of variables, many discussed above. But I would want to go to see how things turn out. Samsung is very right though. You don't want to be the sole ATM for this party, or do you? Decide in advance how much you're willing to "invest." And don't worry about blue balls, consider this a scouting mission.

    What would you do?
She's a fave, but does she deserve this "extra" from you and what might the investment be worth to you in the long run: a)in terms of you fav relationship or b) in the context of a "friend" relationship? Answer that yourself. If it's a go, then see if she wants you to be there with her.

    Opening a new strip club
Better approach--buy a dive. Turn it into anything you want. Starting from scratch would be hard. You would need some local networking mentors to ID all the zoning, licensing issues etc. If yoiu have money to invest, follow the money here. That is, it's leaving the older big cities and moving to the newer big cities, like Houston,Phoenix etc.

    What do bouncers know?
Agree. I don't think you sould begin that conversation with a bouncer. And you can sneak up on it in s different way. For example, you could ask a waitress if any of the dancers tip her at the end of the shift. Same with the bartenders. You want to find the big tipper dancers. Try that until you get to know people.

How far do strippers live from where they work.
Most of the ones I know live within some 10-20 miles of their club. But I did know a dancer once who drove 1 1/2 hours to work.

    Being the landlord of strippers?
Three comments: 1) Clubber--lol! 2) Steve is right. Treat them like a beater used car lot would and make them pay each week. Now, you really don't want to complain about that currency they're using, do you? 3) If it's income, would you report that on a Form 1069? ...Oh, and one more thought. Have you considered turning this house into a duplex?

    Smoke Gets in Your Eyes
All of my dancer favs are smokers. In fact, I don't know any dancers who don't smoke. They all seem to need it. Bars/clubs in Ohio are all smoke-free by law. It really hurts bar business overall but makes it easier on the eyes for non-smokers like me. Most of my close buddies are non-smokers too. One only smokes, when he drinks too much.

Read "The Dark Side of Camelot" by Seymour Hersh. JFK had fun. There's even a possibility he had an std.

stripper offended by asking for OTC?
SS, seems your buddy found one of the more uptight dancers around. If she was not interested, she should have thanked him for the complement and simply declined (dancers reading, take note), but no, she had to play offended, as if she's not aware of that going on or because she is so self righteous--well like I always say, it's adult entertainment, you should expect things like this to happen. If she can't handle it, she should find another job. Shadowcate, certain powers that be in OH would like to see all SCs close and they are applying a legal choke hold that's almost, but not quite, succeeding. There seems to be a core group of customers that refuses to have our rights trampled on by the state. So, we party on!

    Dancers in a Wig........
all those warnings about the dangers of a wig are right. You simply have to decide whether you can control things while wearing one. But if you go for it, it should make you look and feel sexy while still appearing natural. Anything that shouts fake is a no-no in my book. Or, if you rule out the wig but still want some color change short of the full dye which you don't like, consider streaking a few strands in the front. I've seen that done with good results for many dancers, just don't go crazy with it. !

    Strip club gift cards/certificates?
Slickpeter, I've always thought that strip clubs should reorganize as 503c organiztions so we could take a tax deduction for our charity donations! Or the dancers themselves become 503c's! I'm trying to scale back to simple goodwill gestures or symbolic gifts that mean someting. The first is easy, the latter is harder to accomplish.

    How do you handle upselling?
I don't mind negotiating, but not after I sign the contract. But like BoogGuy says, power comes knowing what you want to spend and not varying from that. That way you never cede control of negotiations to the dancer.

    After the Dance
New one, just heard it yesterday: "Why aren't you in porn?" FYI, all my "afterwords" reporting was in the context of stripper shit I've really heard, including the above yesterdeay. On a more respectful note, however, I usualy get a hug and small kiss on the cheek as well.

strip clubs and casinos in the same town?
Lol, central Ohio/Columbus voted against the casino constitutional amendment and now they have to host one because the issue passed. I suspect casinos might help the strip club scene in Ohio--as the pols see money coming in, they'll become less interested in petty things like harassing strip clubs. At least I hope so. And with more "party" money floating around (I'm making a distinction between "party" money and "serious gamblimg money"), we might see more clubs opening once the economy turns the corner.

    Lap dance?
Shadowcat, back to your original question. I say 'let's go play' all the time. I think it is part of the lexicon to many of us strip club frequent flyers. RickWood: yea, we know all that, but it was fun to read.

Have you ever wondered if a dancer was on drugs and then asked her?
I'm afraid to do it with a heroine adict--perhaps too desparate and indiscriminate. Anyone else?

    Road Trips?
Walking--I've walked to the MBOT in San Fran from the Fairmont Hotel on Nob Hill, that's several blocks and I think it took me 20 minutes. Once thought about walking to MBOT from a Fisherman's Wharf hotel, but decided it would take away fromn the fun to have so much of a workout before getting there, so I took a taxi!

    Road Trips?
I've done 4 hours to Sundowner and Seductions in Niagara Falls, Canada, both well worth it. for a change of pace road trip. I've heard Seductions is now closed. Haven't been in a few years. I've also started making the 3 hour road trip to Detroit for occasional change of pace/sure thing.
