    Verified and Certifiable Super-Reviewer
Club ratings and motivation to write reviews
I think a couple of years ago, Founder was experimenting with ways to apply weight to some submissions over others, but the formula never satisfied people. Unless the scoring has changed in the past day or so, now it is a simple average of all reviews done over the past year. Watch one of a club with a review as of Feb 27 2017 (tomorrow). By March 1 the club rating will budge a bit.

    OT: Oh Pocahontas
I think people confuse the CRA with the stated goals of the Bush Administration to expand home ownership. They had a strong belief in the "ownership society" model... That people who owned homes become stakeholders in their neighborhoods. (And politically there may have been assumption that home ownership would lead people to develop more capitalistic values) The housing bubble grew to monstrous proportions because nearly everyone in the system did not get paid unless houses sell and loans are booked. Even those whose roles were to ostensibly gum up the works, such as appraisers and underwriters, succombed to pressure to ignore standards as let the deals fly. Originally loans such as FHA and VA were vehicles for people with little down payment to be able to step into the market. The irony was that you did need a small 1% to 3% down payment for government insured lending. That no-doc, alt-paper crap being originated during the height of the bubble did not need any down payment. Heck "cash back at close" based on an inflated appraisal was a common gambit... borrowers could also finance their move and some new furniture.

    America is Not Great
I spent two weeks in Ukraine for the Christmas holidays. There was a park in the city that was open every evening with vendors, selling grog and hluehwein... No card checking, folks happily getting buzzed. I think there was one police officer for the whole event. We cannot have that in America... Too many irresponsible people. I did not encounter the aggressive panhandling in Ukraine that I encounter almost daily in the USA, despite people being poorer generally.

Ime, I have not been to Char-Grill in 20 years or so - but yeah I sure stopped by there often when I lived in Raleigh. There is a location in Davidson though, I could stop there sometime and see how it compares to my memories. I usually got their ground steak sandwich instead of a burger, though.

OT: Socialism as a Millennial religion
It is really hard to straighten out a society that has an entitlement mentality. The next generation feels the same way - they are owed a better life and will vote in politicians who will debase the currency to dole out jobs. Argentina comes to mind... A country that once had a GDP comparable to the US. It has been hindered by socialism for 80 years or more.

Yeah Five Guys is something like 8 friggin bucks including tax for a cheeseburger in NC. Although I do like that they can put some jalapeños on the grill with your order.

I usually do a good job of avoiding fast food. But if I get a burger, it is usually at "COOK OUT" Their chili and hush puppies are good too.

^^ Hillary's campaign knew the ground rules... Win the electoral college. There were many articles after the election about local advisors in the Midwest trying to communicate with the national campaign, to tell them they were in danger taking those states for granted. Trump did not run a brilliant campaign - but Hillary ran a complacent one.

I suppose this is a small "black dive" that nobody has ever reviewed or addled to the TUSCL database. The west side of Charlotte is kind of an industrial area, dominated by the airport and poor neighborhoods.

Why are Russian/Ukranian women so cold?
People in the post-Soviet world live hard lives. There is work, but pay is very low and people still mostly live in the same old buildings that the communists built. Winter is long, daylight is short. You get around the city on crowded busses. In short, every day is a bit of an ordeal. It causes people to have little time or patience for small talk. That is reserved for close friends and family.

Why are Russian/Ukranian women so cold?
    People on TUSCL often mention a "Cuban Invasion" but North Carolina seems to be a little far north for Cubans and a little far south for Russians. Despite the reputation of Russians being low milage, I would not mind spending some time with a few just to chat at the bar. I have been to Ukraine a few times, practicing the language with a girl in bikini wear would beat paying for language lessons on iTalki! :-}

Why so many Budweiser haters on here?
Bud is so light and bland that it feels like "near beer" to me. Miller has a strange aftertaste. Strip clubs in NC are not very inventive when it comes to beer choices. They may have a mass market upscale brew like Sam Adam's or Yuengling. The irony is that Charlotte has a very active microbrew scene. Maybe some of the very nice clubs (Uptown or Men's Club) perhaps offer more selection than divey MAL branded clubs I visit.

    Strip Club Nation
    Another Club Closing
Cities have copied each other's zoning ordinances to make it nearly impossible to find a site for a new club to open. A local mayor in NC was quite proud of this accomplishment. Clubs will slowly close over time as the owners sell to developers, or get shut down for violations. Sometimes owners simply die and the heirs do not know how to manage a club. Remember the Atlanta Constitution article that mentioned that no new clubs have opened within the city limits since 1984?

I voted Libertarian in 2016, but I could vote for Trump in 2020. He has learned the job, I can justify sticking with the devil we know. Especially if the Democrats go full steam into the far left with their next nominee.

Historically, automobile sales correlate well with economic cycles. During a recession people keep repairing their beaters. When people find the economy improving and better jobs are available, they tend to treat themselves to a new car that they have been waiting for. Automobile manufacturers tend to get caught towards the end of an economic boom with a product mix of larger, fuel inefficient vehicles and they must retool and quickly introduce smaller ones. This happened in 1959, 1973, 1990, 2007. When the economy is improving, you will see articles that mention how larger and more feature-laden vehicles are being introduced.

    How do you treat dancers?
I try to keep in mind that there are a range of women in the club - from "hardened pros" to part-timers who don't even take the money all that seriously and just view it as "better money than babysitting" I also assume most of them have difficult back stories, and their real lives may be incomprensible to me. As in: "Why would you so such foolish things with your money, your body, hang around such irresponsible friends etc." I don't pry into their personal lives, but it seems like strippers size me up quickly as a stable, sensible, "square" - and they confess all kinds of crazy stuff in their pasts. Some of it violent and scary, unfortunately.

Whatever his real life is like, he does have a bit of routine. Usually around 730pm east coast time he is posting in every thread and bumping them again. I suppose it does not dawn on him, that he has become a phantom to most of us. Nobody bothers to respond or argue because he is so widely ignored. He must have some degree of Asperger's Syndrome or something. To post unread drivel every day for years, on a relatively low traffic internet forum.

I have met mid 20ish dancers with tattoos that are 10 years old and they were already becoming blurry. They are not a good lifetime investment even for art's sake.
