MoneyIn some of the clubs I have gone to in the past, the dancers had a mandatory drink minimum. They must sell a certain number of drinks each shift, or pay for them at the end of their shift. The clubs I have available to me now, don't do that, but do have waitresses pestering the customers to buy "ladies drinks" for the dancers. In these clubs, there's no mandatory minimum for the dancers, but the dancer gets half of the drink cost as a way of reducing her house fee.
In either case, I would buy a "ladies drink" if the dancer was spending a lot of time with me, and I felt like I should spend some money on her in exchange for her time--certainly not an hour's worth. This was mostly if I wasn't planning on getting dances with them. If I was, I wouldn't be spending a lot of time with them at my table.

"And Now For Something Completely Different"I hadn't heard of Peter Tips before, but I well know of the Strip Club Hound. He has great insight into the industry. I've been reading his blog since it started.

Strip/Dance ClubsI've heard it said that some hostess clubs are like that, but I don't have any familiarity with them. Apparently you can get a fully clothed lap dance at some hostess clubs. In that sense, they're not much like a strip club. Hostess clubs have been an item of discussion before on TUSCL. With the vast experience our membership has, you'll likely get some good information from others.

Club Layout Preference ?Papi, I concur. But, allow me to elaborate: I like a single, large room, mostly so I can see where the dancers I'm interested in, are circulating. I especially like to be able to see when they're going to the VIP and for how long and with whom. Also, I find it helpful to keep tabs on them when they're going to the dressing room, d.j., mgr. desk, and ladies room. Most of the Puget Sound Region clubs are laid out so I can find a spot with that visibility.

Lap dance punch cardIt's rare that you see a strip club offer something like a conventional business would. I'm glad to see that at least one strip club owner is thinking like a businessman/woman. When I get punch cards, or similar offers for other businesses, I usually make use of them. Restaurants are the most common: Nine meals and the tenth is free. Works for me!

Clubbing around the holidaysThere was a time when I'd avoid clubbing during holiday weekends only because the dancer count seemed low at the clubs I went to at the time. Now, my clubbing is different. I go when I know my faves will be working. If I'm unsure, I just text them to ask.

Dancers Named After LibationsHennessy is another. It seems it's mostly black dancers that choose that name. I was in the Spearmint Rhino in Arcadia, CA (now Knockouts)several years ago, and while sitting at the bar I noticed among the liquor bottles on the shelf were Hennessy and Alize right next to each other. I thought that's appropriate in a strip club!

Blond strippersLike other words in our vocabulary, language changes over time. "Snatch" was popular at one time, perhaps while "beaver" was in use. Farmerart had a thread on the use of the word, "snatch" a while back.

Also, as a kid, I read the book, "Ball Four," by Jim Bouton. I vividly recall the chapter, "The Art of Beaver Shooting." See the "Summary" paragraph:

What does "dancer mileage" mean ie high mileage low mileageSlick, By your reference to "standard unit of measurement," you probably mean the "British Imperial System" of weights and measures still in use in the U.S. and just a couple of other countries. (Everyone else went metric a long time ago.) See:
