Mostly, I just don't like Germans. I find them arrogant, stubborn, conceited, hard-headed, and racist. Munich has too much Nazi resonance for me. That place was Hitler's spiritual home. Vienna was his birthplace.
My old man was in the Canadian Army for 5 years during WW II, spending over 3 of those years in combat killing Germans. To my mind, Pop didn't kill enough of the Nazi bastards.
Our world would be a much better place if 70,000,000 Krauts had been exterminated in 1870.

Thanks for the link, Papi_Chulo, particularly The World's Best Places to Live section.
I know all those cities apart from the two cities down in the Antipodes, Sydney and Aukland. Six of the cities are German-speaking cities in Germany, Austria, or Switzerland. IMO, those six cities are all sterile and soul destroying places, particularly Dusseldorf. You would be hard pressed to find any city that is more smug and stuffy than that benighted burg. Allied Air Forces should have dropped many more bombs on that place during WW II. There is too much residue of Nazism in German cities for me, even in Vienna and Zurich as well.
Now, Copenhagen and Vancouver are places that I enjoy very much, even Geneva is a sweet place (but that 'ville' is really a French city). I could live happily in any of those three cities.

I'll stand with georg and zipman.
Over my years in the oil patch I have had scores of employees; many of them ex-cons, sociopaths, freaks, drunks, liars, cheats, psychos, etc. All that I ever cared about was if they did the job and didn't steal from me.
If I could make profits from their labour and/or skills I was way cool about anything else about them that had no impact on said profits.

I dunno.
I have had a couple of experiences in SCs that were purely incredible. If those two experiences had been reported in another guy's review I would have been screaming 'Bull Shit' to the rafters.
I have received a few PMs from other tuslers calling me out over some of my reviews. I understand why they question my credibility.
I am willing to cut this guy some slack. Never forget that people actually do win lotteries!

Of course I didn't have a clue about this guy when he was alive. Reading a long piece about 'Mr. Drummond' in today's Calgary Herald I learned that he grew up in Calgary, served in the Canadian Army during WW II, and was one of the founders of Workshop 14 which was the foundation of Calgary's largest professional theatre company.
Seems like the guy had a solid workman-like acting career.

I do not have the same observations about Asians in SCs. Toronto area clubs are replete with Asian dancers, particularly the dusky South Asians - Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi, Sri Lankan. You will also meet many gorgeous Pinoy sweeties.

I retired once. I hated it. I will never do it again. As soon as the 'no compete' clause of the contract selling my first company expired I got back in business. If my health remains good I should have another 10-15 years at my game in the oil patch.
I don't expect that I can last that long in SCs! I am not shadowcat #2.

Yup. Even an old fart like me can be pitched from a club. Happened in the old French Maid in Calgary. I cold cocked another customer who was being a rank asshole with a stage dancer. Bouncer rushed over and escorted me out of the club even though the dancer pleaded my case.
Was alcohol involved? Hmmmmm...........could be!

....$175,000 for farmerart's hobby last year? Way high. Biggest expense for me last year was the week in Hawaii with my Toronto sweetie; all in, that week was in the $40K neighbourhood. Rest of the year....$5K tops.
Different story was the last year of my brief retirement when I hit the clubs hard and often......very big number that year!

I have received shirts from two Alberta clubs. I wear them all the time around the exploration camp. I have found that the shirts give me a fair bit of 'cred' with the rig pigs.
