Vince, had you credit-overdosed by way of your home to support strip clubbing, and then not made a payment in expectation of foreclosure, you could still be living "rent free". In fact, since it recently came to light affidavits were being falsified and foreclosures have been suspended, you'd get even more money for clubbing! White collar crime evidently pays... alas the 'burly bandit' was too much of a simpleton.

Foreclosure Mess: More on BofA Foreclosure Freeze, Wells Fargo satisfied with Procedures
by CalculatedRisk on 10/01/2010 11:59:00 PM
From David Streitfeld at the NY Times: Bank of America to Freeze Foreclosure Cases
Bank of America, the country’s largest mortgage lender by assets, said on Friday that it was reviewing documents in all foreclosure cases now in court to evaluate if there were errors.
It is the third major lender in the last two weeks to freeze foreclosures in the 23 states where the process is controlled by courts.
...
Bank of America, in an e-mailed statement, said it would “amend all affidavits in foreclosure cases that have not yet gone to judgment.â€
And from Jacob Gaffney at Housing Wire: Wells Fargo standing by accuracy of foreclosure affidavits
The second largest servicer in the United States, Wells Fargo is not planning to review foreclosure affidavits in light of the robo-signer allegations at many of its competitors.
In an email to HousingWire, Wells Fargo spokesman Jason Menke said, "Wells Fargo policies, procedures and practices satisfy us that the affidavits we sign are accurate. We audit, monitor and review our affidavits under controlled standards on a daily basis. We will stand by our affidavits and, if we find an error, we will take the appropriate corrective action."
I've corresponded with two servicers and they both believe their procedures are adequate (no "robo-signers"). However for GMAC - and apparently for JPMorgan and BofA - there is no excuse.

Report: Title Insurance company stops insuring Chase Foreclosures
by CalculatedRisk on 10/02/2010 05:04:00 PM
From David Streitfeld at the NY Times: Company Stops Insuring Titles in Chase Foreclosures
The company, Old Republic National Title Insurance, told its agents Friday that it would not write policies on foreclosed Chase properties until “the objectionable issues have been resolved,†according to a memorandum sent out by the firm’s underwriting department.
For those who haven't seen it, here is an excerpt from an affidavit signed by Jeffrey Stephen of GMAC:
Click on image for larger image in new window.
I've highlighted a couple of sentences in yellow. Source: Stopa Law Blog
According to the affidavit the affiant claims to have "examined" the details of the transactions in the complaint, and that he has "personal knowledge of the facts contained in the affidavit". In a disposition - according to media reports - the affiant admitted to just signing the documents without verifying the details. If so, the affidavit is not correct.
The affidavits are being withdrawn.
Obviously the title insurance companies are concerned about what will happen to homes that have already been through foreclosure - with false affidavits filed during the process - and that have already been sold to another party. I'll have more on this later ...

Florida’s Ongoing Foreclosures Nightmare
By Barry Ritholtz - September 29th, 2010, 2:49PM Attached is a court order quashing a foreclosure service process service (PDF here; embed here) because of a counterfeit court summons.
Apparently what’s happening is that private process servicer companies may not be serving people with summons, and are simply counterfeiting the documents so they can keep the fees without doing the work. That means that you could theoretically be foreclosed on without ever knowing there was even a foreclosure case against you.
This judge got wise to it.
Below are two more stories about the problem. The first is from the Florida Bar News, and the second is from prominent financial blogger Mike Konczal on the rampant violations of property rights.

Sam, you and I discussed LodgeNet before. If they have any sense at all, they'd cut their in-room prices by 50%.

Sam, I wore shorts into H8S last visit. There was a shortage of guys for the gals and within seconds of sitting at the bar, a dancer joined me. I was taking a swig of my beer when her (unseen) hand went up my shorts and squeezed my male parts. I almost spat out my beer!!!

Sam, Dreamgirls, LOL! Her tip bowl was so big, it was suggestive in it's own right...
Did you see The House of Babes review which came through a few days ago? Some guy actually liked the place, eventhough no dancer would talk to him! [I think he's had too much of Columbus strip clubs!!!]

Become a quasi-regular at a club you think you'll like. Over time your interests will become known by the dancers and staff.
Politely decline who you don't want to do business with. Save the money until the talent comes 'round you're interested in. I've been in such a situation numerous times, and left because I couldn't find any dancer I wanted to spend on. The worst is you still have most of your money to try another time/shift.

Could 10inches experience coincide with it being the end of the month??? I.e. rent due on the first?
My guess is the extras will be flowing at H8S today, tomorrow, and the next day.

Vince, from the sounds of it, you can hook Art up with Players also.
I think I'm going to remove Henry's North from my usual places to bounce to. The last few times there's been no inspiration there for me to spend money on -- just a place to drink and watch sports on the TVs.

Um, the *best* was to be had right in your own backyard.
That said, load up on the singles and sit stageside at a top-ranked club like the Rhino to maximize on the eye candy without nuking the wallet. AVOID THE PUSSYCAT LOUNGE AT ALL COSTS!!!

Whoa, whoa, WHOA!!! Art, Sam's ROB was working at H8S Saturday night. It was the first time I'd seen her since Sam had his run-in with her. I didn't mention Sam's experience, but did bring up what I'd seen her do at Bogart's. I didn't get ripped off then, but my experience with her was noteworthy because of the attitude I witnessed (fyi: she took what I paid her and slammed it on the bouncer's desk and said "Here's your fucking money!!!") Well, at H8S, she said it was because Bogart's takes soooo much from the gals while H8S doesn't. I imagine house fees (and fines!) are a touchy subject with the gals -- she may have felt justified trying to hose Sam because she felt Bogart's was hosing her.
Why all the whoas? Because there's ANOTHER dancer working H8S (she was there last spring and still there now), who, um, well, I don't get WHY she works there. Seriously. She's about the most perplexing dancer I've ever come across. ROB doesn't fit. But what most guys go there for, and why she still works there, it just doesn't make any sense. Unless one is pretty heavily intoxicated and just not paying attention. I'm guessing Art hasn't run into her.
Fyi: Bogart's door guy gave me a Henry's North pass eventhough I asked for a H8S. H8S still took it.

Well, Steve, that is remarkable seeing as how you're a regular at the place, right? I'm sure the gals were perplexed as to why none of them were receiving your coinage.
Personally, I bounce from place-to-place when I don't find motivation to spend. A waitress pressed me on a two drink minimum last night, and when I surveyed the scene to decide about staying longer and didn't see much, I handed her my empty and left.
Sam messaged me about a recent club he hit (we've both been to it.) He was the only customer in the place and yet the DJ badgered him over the PA to "keep tipping the girls." Indeed some clubs/dancers etc. feel guys should always be spending (ABS). Obviously I disagree, and I know many, many pubs where I often have a whole lot more fun and wind up spending more because of it.

Read my article on Detroit.
While there are all kinds of seedy motels along Michigan Ave., just down the road from Bogart's, Flight Club, and Henry's North, I believe they're around $38 a night after tax. On this visit to the area, I landed the Marriott at the airport (7 minutes south of Bogart's, etc.) through Priceline.com's "Name Your Own Price" search option. Selected a 3.5 star hotel and was successful for $44 a night plus taxes and fees.
There's a $25 off certificate on www.Restaurant.com available for $2 up front (payable by credit card) for the Ha Penny Pub, which is located inside the Marriott.

Sam, knowing Columbus' rather strict rules, it could look from a distance she's performing an air dance (but that no doubt requires some obscurity, etc.)

It hasn't been planned, but every once in a while I'll get a "How much do you have?" If it's an enticing amount, I can almost hear the gears turn in the dancer's head about what her offer will be. And usually it's worked out positively!
