Let's hope that the TJ Deja Vu is better than the US-based chain of DJV clubs that are known for their no-extras policies. I'm often amazed that the US chain makes a profit given the more permissive competition that has emerged in many US cities.

I've encountered a number of dancers who like porn and will tell you specific genres or porn stars who they like. I've also encountered a few dancers who've acted in porn movies (minor roles) or worked as a webcam girl for extra money.
One of the dancers at Penthouse (Detroit) adopted the stage name "Sasha." I mentioned to her that Sasha was the name of my favorite porn star (Sasha Grey) and she said "mine too" and pulled out her phone and showed me her favorite photos of Sasha Grey.

Chiming in with Vincemichaels, most of the clubs in Detroit (and a few in Jackson, MI) have private VIP dance areas with either doors or curtains and no cameras. I've never encountered a lockable VIP dance area. Probably not needed if the bouncers are not intruding on the private dances.

Ah, the lure of a new experience! I've tried it ITC on several occasions. The dancers were not naive and seemed to be prepared for some back door action. Always used a condom and never had a clean up problem.

I've traveled a good deal and no other US city rivals metro Detroit for the number of clubs where extras are available. Outside the US, Tijuana (especially the Zona Norte) and Toronto (really the western and northern suburbs) are comparable.

Sex between CONSENTING ADULTS should be OK and it should not be regulated by law enforcement. However, consent must be "free and informed" and not coerced. This means that underage women, drug-impaired women (think Bill Cosby), mentally impaired women and women who are being physically abused or threatened cannot consent. Unfortunately, the definition of "coercion" that is adopted by the well intentioned human trafficking movement is far too broad. It should not include actions that are motivated by money, otherwise everyone (strippers, prostitute, accountants, waiters, policemen, professional athletes, etc.) is being coerced if they are motivated by the money they are being paid for performing their job.
Maybe I'm naive about the extent of physical coercion but I think that the vast majority of strippers would not fall under the more restrictive definition of coercion above and should have the right to pursue whatever profession they want to, including providing sexual services (from dancing to sex) in exchange for money. I also think that legalizing and regulating prostitution would greatly reduce the threat of human trafficking.

Good clip! I've had lots of fun in strip clubs but nothing quite that public and explicit. The closest approximation was at Bogarts (just west of Detroit in Inkster). There was a time when Bogarts did not have private booths (as it does now) but instead had a raised platform with chairs lining the perimeter of the room. Lots of fun happened there, but being an open room, it was not for the modest.

I was disappointed in the strip club scene in NOLA, especially those in the French Quarter. I have never, ever been required to sign an agreement stating that sex will NOT occur in a club until my recent visit to the Penthouse, NOLA. Presumably this policy is a result of police action directed at the strip clubs in the French Quarter. So my tentative conclusion is that the strip clubs in the French Quarter are over priced tourist traps that do not deliver much value in terms of adult entertainment. Maybe someone who is a more frequent visitor can offer a more encouraging perspective.

January 19, 2016 • Made a visit to the Penthouse just off of Bourbon Street based on the positive reviews on TUSCL. The physical layout has been described by others. It is a nicely appointed club with a bar and stage downstairs and private dance areas upstairs. Admission was $12 and beers were $8. It was early evening (9PM) but there were only 4 dancers on shift. All of the dancers were attractive and in shape. Chatted with a dark haired dancer for a while and we headed upstairs for a sample dance ($40) and then eventually to a slightly more private area. Strangely, I was required to sign an acknowledgment that sex did not occur in the club prior to going to the slightly more private dance area. That was a first! The dance was sensual with decent two way contact but pretty limited mileage and, in accord with the agreement, certainly no hint of sex. Overall, the Penthouse and the French Quarter were pretty tame as afar as the strip club scene goes.

By way of a follow up, here is a brief synopsis of a recent visit to four clubs on the Block. I posted it as a review of Chez Joey, which was the best of the four clubs that I visited.
During an afternoon visit to the Block, I stopped by several clubs, all located in close proximity of each other. A quick synopsis and then I'll describe Chez Joey in a bit more detail.
Norma Jeans--a walk through because the talent was sparse-- 3 thick, curvy black girls -- no problem with black girls, but I prefer slender and athletic bodies.
Pussy Cat-- not much talent was visible so a very brief visit.
Red Room-- decent selection of dancers including a few in the 7 range. The VIP is seriously overpriced and it is essentially a closet with a padded seat.
Chez Joey-- decent looking interior (for a converted row house) and a decent selection of dancers (just a smidgen below the Red Room). Arranged for a VIP trip with one of the dancers. The push to buy dancer drinks was not as intense as some of the other clubs so I liked the more laid back atmosphere. The VIP at Chez Joey is upstairs and is a small but comfortably appointed room. The price was also less than the VIP price at the Red Room. Of the four clubs that I visited, none were great value, two had decent (not outstanding) talent (Red Room and Chez Joey) and Chez Joey had the nicest VIP area and a reasonable rate (in comparison to the other clubs). Based on this very limited sample, only Chez Joey and Red Room would merit another visit.

I visit clubs much more often than I write reviews. I tend to write reviews only if I have something useful to say (or at least, I think that it might be useful above and beyond the repetition of information from previous reviews) or an update on a club that I have not recently reviewed.
I do like the tally of reviews published and number of unique clubs reviewed for each author. It helps me know how much credence to give to any particular review -- with first time reviewers getting much less credence than more experienced reviewers.

I say we give Martin a complimentary TUSCL VIP membership. Not sure about the stripper-- even a pretty face and hot body cannot overcome a crappy, self-entitled attitude.

With the exception of Miami, I've been to all of the options being discussed (Detroit, COI, Mitchell Brothers in San Francisco, and Tijuana). Tijuana should be on the bucket list for serious strip club fans. Detroit would be a close second.
I recommend that you get a passport or a Sentri Card for crossing the border. I also recommend that you stay in San Diego and make the short trip to the border via rental car or trolley (if you want to save a few dollars). Tijuana has some experiences that you just do not find state side, including two girl shaving cream shows, an area of the city where prostitution is legal, lots of hot latina chicks in the strip clubs (Hong Kong and Adelitas are my favorites) who are willing to negotiate a session at an adjacent hotel for a very reasonable rate. Do a little research on TJ Amigos or track down some of the articles about Tijuana that are posted on TUSCL. Have fun.

You might check a different web site, twosheds.com, which is dedicated to Michigan strip clubs. You'll find a thread on each of the clubs in Michigan, including Jackson clubs.
If not mistaken, one of the managers and several of the dancers post infrequently on that thread.
Let us know if you end up dancing somewhere.
