Some Interesting Review Statistics

A year ago, I posted a discussion about clubs with 1,000+ reviews. Since then, I’ve been keeping track of a list of the 100 most reviewd clubs on TUSCL. I update my list once a week.

For those who are curious how big the gap is from 1-100, Follies is #1 with 2,448 reviews, and Rick’s Cabaret New York and Red Parrot (El Paso, TX) are currently tied at the #100 spot with 391 reviews.

When I first compiled the list, it took a ton of hours. Maintaining it has been easy as most of these clubs are in major metropolitan areas, and now when you go to a city’s club listings, it also includes clubs in nearby cities.

With no further ado, here is an updated list of clubs with 1,000+ reviews (in order from most reviewed to least).

  1. Follies (Atlanta, GA)

  2. Playhouse Lounge (Burlington, NJ)

  3. Baby Dolls (Dallas, TX)

  4. Spearmint Rhino (Las Vegas, NV)

  5. Platinum Plus (Columbia, SC) - CLOSED

  6. Mons Venus (Tampa, FL)

  7. The HiLiter (Phoenix, AZ)

  8. Flight Club (Inkster, MI)

  9. Scarlett’s at Ybor Strip (Tampa, FL)

  10. Bogarts Lounge (Inkster, MI)

  11. Tootsie’s Cabaret (Miami Gardens, FL)

  12. Brad’s Brass Flamingo (Indianapolis, IN)

  13. Electric Blue Cafe (Tolland, CT)

  14. Deja Vu Showgirls (City of Industry, CA)

  15. Inner Room Cabaret (Cocoa Beach, FL) *

  16. OG Gentlemen’s Club (Las Vegas, NV) - CLOSED

  17. Scarlett’s Cabaret (Washington Park, IL) *

  18. Pandora’s Adult Cabaret (Seattle, WA) *

  19. Hong Kong Gentlemen’s Club (Tijuana, Mexico) *

  • was not on this list a year ago

For those who like to make a “Now vs. Then” comparison, the following is a list of clubs that have had 100+ reviews the past 12 months

  1. Follies (Atlanta, FA) - 314 reviews

  2. Playhouse Lounge (Burlington, NJ) - 246 reviews

  3. The HiLiter (Phoenix, AZ) - 182 reviews

  4. Hong Kong Gentlemen’s Club (Tijuana, Mexico) - 179 reviews

  5. Flight Club (Inkster, MI) - 157 reviews

  6. Pandora’s Adult Cabaret (Seattle, WA) - 151 reviews

  7. Bogarts Lounge (Inkster, MI) - 146 reviews

  8. Synn Gentlemen’s Club (City of Industry, CA) - 124 reviews

  9. Baby Dolls (Dallas, TX) - 120 reviews

  10. Criket (Dearborn, MI) - 117 reviews

  11. Go Go Rama (Laurence Harbor, NJ) - 103 reviews

  12. Diamond Dolls (Pompano Beach, FL) - 102 reviews

I'm kinda a numbers-nerd thus I enjoy this kinda info.

In the original list it would've been nice to list the review #s next to the club name - only if we had that damn edit button

I can only imagine how much biz shadowcat has brought Follies - for myself Follies got on my radar from shadowcat being a ubiquitous presence on the board and talking about his fave club - I 've visited half-a-dozen times from outta state and would visit more if I could

I didn't realize Playhouse is that popular. I still haven't been due to reports that the dancers are generally older. But... more reviews in the past 12 months than HK, Flight Club, and Diamond Dolls? Perhaps I underestimate it.

I've been to 15 of them. Would have been 16 but got sidetracked on the night I planned to go to Bogarts. Will probably see two of the others in the next few months.

I’ve been to all of the top 9 and 13 of the 19 in the overall count.

I have also been to 8 of the 12 that have had the most reviews in the last 12 months. That list seems more relevant to current club choices. Thanks for the effort in compliling the list.

My interest in tracking such data was simply the result of noticing certain clubs are always showing up in the Daily Reviews section, and some of them get as many as 4 reviews in one day.

On my current list of the Top 100, the following 5 metropolitan areas account for 36 of the clubs on that list:

  • Detroit - 9 clubs

  • Los Angeles - 8 clubs

  • Philadelphia- 8 clubs

  • Chicago - 6 clubs

  • Las Vegas - 5 clubs

Interesting list.

Of the clubs on this list, how many would you consider to be extras/ultra high mileage (E/UHM) clubs?

I would speculate that E/UHM accounts for the unusually large number of clubs in Metro Detroit (the city is barely in the top 20 based on city population) and some of the clubs in more rural areas (e.g., Electric Blue). Not sure what accounts for six Chicago-land clubs (typically low mileage) on this list and the paucity of reviews for NYC clubs?

My reaction to this post is the same as most people’s reaction to my 25 page analaysis a few years back of why jerikson is a woman — damn, how does somebody have that much time on their hands? But it is an interesting list. And it proves something that I’ve always thought which is the best clubs in a city can usually be quickly identified by the number of reviews. The best clubs tend to have significantly more reviews than other clubs. The list supports that theory because most of the clubs on the list are very good clubs. Several are, or have been in the recent past, outstanding clubs. I don’t know them all so there could be exceptions but I know most of them well.

Thanks for the list.

I’ve only been to 7 of them, but in addition I’ve driven past 4 of them, but chose other clubs in the vicinity.

Example - I’ve driven by Bogarts a million times but never have been in there, and probably never will as long as Flight Club is open (which is down the street).

You would only choose Bogart's over Flight Club if you were broke or you liked ugly women.

How to review and rate strip clubs:

  1. Skin level, nude is best. Pasties is a problem. Better if they can substitute a t-shirt.

  2. Front room friendliness, best is when front room makeout sessions are common.

  3. Back room mileage. FS is best, titty sucking, DATY, BJ okay, but should be with continuing makeout session.

  4. Okay to walk a girl out the front door with you mid shift.

The rest of the review stuff really does not matter, in my humble opinion.

Some might want two guitars. But you could never get all the quasi orchestral effects without the keyboard.

Interesting read. I've been on this site for a good long time, but haven't been very active on it until as of late...... (looking to branch out of the scene I've been stuck in for quite some time now COI), but yes these kinds of things are very interesting...
