HBO doesn't want to be sued so they'll blur out your face if you happen to be caught on camera as a customer and don't sign a consent form.
Some of the dancers think this will bring more business to the clubs but maybe not.

I don't think an upcoming HBO series this winter would be considered a reality show. It's about a strip club entrepreneur based on his biography and might not be what you're looking for.
See the last paragraph in this link.

They were filming in Detroit's PHC a week or so ago and a Coliseum review says they were also filming at Coliseum.

I've thought of these pole accidents as a customer being kicked sitting near the stage, but recently saw someone getting a minor kick to the face walking past a pole dancer on a satellite stage.

Maybe 3 or 4 years ago they put together a pilot for a stripper reality series with strippers from the Penthouse in Detroit and other strip clubs in the area. They were trying it sell it to HBO and MTV I believe. I don't know if it got anywhere. One of the strippers was communicating with someone from Hollywood for awhile.

Horny old bastard.
Might want to avoid sitting underneath the strip clubs upstairs railing at 2:AM. A month ago part of someones drink splashed on me during a 2:AM disturbance upstairs. Could have been worse. In this case someone couldn't pay his bar or VIP bill.

This article came out yesterday and says that violent crime has decreased, but there are still problems in cities with economic problems.

May have been made a familiar abbreviation in Las Vegas by a realty TV series called Bad Girls Club: Las Vegas.

At one time the Flight Club was # 1 on TUSCL. I've always assumed the rest of the Twosheds statement about TUSCL was a mistake.
The lawsuit against Detroit City Council is still ongoing. There was supposed to be a pretrial conference last month but that was delayed.

@silkypants Not sure if you're saying Bree was just someone that looked a lot like Bree Olson or the PHC dancer that uses the stage name Bree. I had a dance with the dancer named Bree once but made it clear I had only so much money. So I don't know if she upsells or not.

King of Diamonds on Eight Mile in Detroit used to be called the Booby Trap until recently. Before it was named the Booby Trap a previous owner lost both his legs when his car was booby trapped outside the club. Quite a coincidence that it would be named the Booby trap after that.

I never had much happen at the tables beside the stage in PHC. Could be the other dancers don't want the dancers on stage hearing whats being discussed.
Alan has a reputation for being concerned about the dancers appearance. I suppose the dancers spend more time than usual freshening up.

This says it the the Sting near Livernois on Michigan, so it wouldn't be Club Venus. Although it's name has probably changed with new owners.

It wasn't the 8 Mile Penthouse, but the owner of 8 Mile Penthouse was a managing partner of the one in Philadelphia, at least when it opened.

There's new information on the Penthouses lawsuit against Detroit City Council. Even though the judge released an opinion that favored Detroit City Council, there's not expected to be any rulings till sometimes after the beginning of May.

This shooting last month was at the same motel.

There's been streetwalker activity around the motel for quite awhile, but supposedly some of the Club Venus dancers use the motel.

Sounded extreme to me and maybe based on wild rumors or someone with an ax to grind. But I'd rather avoid the Penthouse myself till there's more information and thought there may be others that felt the same way.

A dancer that has worked at the Penthouse in Detroit said about the same things that Golf123 was told. Didn’t ask how she knew so it could have been a rumor. She said the DPD was involved and that a customer was given a ticket or arrested for tipping a dancer on stage. She said only the Penthouse has this problem.

Detroit man charged in murder of two Flint women
A Detroit man has been charged in the double murder of two Flint women in June, police and prosecutors announced today.
Eddie Smith, 31, was arraigned today on two counts of first-degree premeditated murder in the shooting deaths of Shenil Jefferies, 20, and Kendra Wolfe, 21, police said.
If convicted of first-degree murder, Smith faces life in prison without parole.
He is also charged with two counts of felony murder, two counts of kidnapping, felon in possession, felony firearm and habitual fourth offense.
According to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office, the women came to Detroit on June 18 to go to Cheetah's. Police said Smith drove from Detroit to Flint to pick up the women, then drove them back to Detroit to go to the night club.
Police said it is alleged that a verbal altercation escalated and ended up both women being fatally shot.
Days later, the women's bodies were found in a vacant home on the 5400 block of Canton. Both women died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to the prosecutor's office.
After obtaining a warrant, the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team arrested Smith on Wednesday, police said.
"This was a good example of hard work by the Detroit Police Homicide Investigators and the Detroit Fugitive Apprehension Team," Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee Jr. said in a statement. "I just hope that their good work has helped bring some closure" to the women's families.

This may have been a periodic inspection by the liquor control commission. Was the DPD involved?
Penthouse Club sued Detroit City Council over their new ordinance last year and recently the judge in the law suit said he was going to rule in favor of Detroit City Council, although the final ruling won't be till sometime after October 3.

I should mention that someone said the raid at the Flight Club was by a Wayne County sheriff who was later became sheriff of Detroit. He was fired in Detroit after his part in the filming of a realty TV series that was never shown on TV that the mayor thought was inappropriate. Sounds like a publicity seeker. So the raid may have been a one time occurence.

I was at a raid at the Flight club outside Detroit in 2005. They had all the dancers, 20 or 30 of them, standing on the stage for at least 20 minutes. One of the customers went up to the policeman near the door and told him he needed to be someplace and was slammed against the bar. At the end they had 6 or so young women daisy chained together with hand cuffs being led out the door. Not sure if they were dancers.
In Detroit they're not as dramatic. Every 6 months or so a bar is inspected by the Liquor Control Commission and several people that are either dancers, customers, or staff get tickets and end up paying $300 in fines unless the tickets are thrown out. These tickets are usually handed out in the VIP, but they they also check all the dancers for dance cards in Detroit. Might be able to cover up a ticket from your SO or others, but the names in Detroit are public record if you know where to look.
